Taking down his first Ysali dragon had given Maslin a boost of confidence. He'd finally figured out how to hunt properly and now he could go about finishing up his training with ease. Apparently he'd been a bit too overconfident as his trip to Ayr to take on an Ayrala dragon was going poorly. Not only could he not see where he was going due to the damned fog the dragon was breathing everywhere but the naturally high winds on the plane were making it hard to for him to stay on his feet. His weight actually came in handy here to help anchor him to the the dusty rough ground.
It was a good thing he'd left Lazuli back on Serenia, The keindred grew larger everyday and could rival a good sized buck at this point but he too would have struggled to remained planted on the ground here. Maslin could only imagine that his fellow Peisio would have been equally flummoxed about how to deal with this situation. Ayrala were clearly a dragon he was going to need to sneak up on if he wanted to be successful at hunting them instead of going back to Ysali. maybe it was vanity but Maslin wanted to say he could handle more dragons than just the most common and easy ones out there. He might be doing the bare minimum to get by but still he could finish off with some flair.
~ Eventually Maslin made his way through a small rocky, fog filled valley and out into clear air. Where the dragon he'd been hunting had gone he had no idea. The Young man leaned against a boulder that sheltered him from the wind and waited for his energy to return. He'd take one more crack at hunting an ayarala today once he'd rested and then he'd head home.
