Halloween town, such a large and daunting place. Lily wasn't entirely sure what drew her here. Especially without Alva. Such a long way from home and his safety. A concept that brought with it a distant sense of anxious sick that settled like a heavy stone in her gut.
She watched the Halloween creatures rush to and fro to sort their many little errands. Did she have errands? Is that why she came? Lily doesn't honestly remember.

Zar wasn't curious about the town, he was on an errand, he used a great deal of paper and it had to come from somewhere after all. He exited one of the shops with a small cart he was pulling with his tail, piled high with wrapped papers.
He stopped at the unfamiliar glint of gold. There was a demon ghoul standing looking a little lost, and something about her simply seized his attention. He was in a good mood for what felt like the first time in a very very long time, one of those days where he felt like he'd gotten out of the right side of the bed - even if he didn't actually sleep. There was no harm in sharing it.
"Are you okay?" he asked, with what he hoped was a disarming smile.

Lily still shot a gaze at him with a startled gasp. She wasn't expecting one to actually notice her, let alone speak. She backed up a little bit as she took the creature before her in. A few too many horns, those legs... not equine, and that tail... what was it?
"Y-yes, just...," she looked around then quickly turned her focus back on him. "Where am I?"

Zar seemed to soften up his demeanour even more, relaxing his tail and his wings. "You are in halloweentown, or at least close enough. Are you lost?" It wasn't like him to do things without expectation of reward, everything had a price. Everything had a potential contract attached and some kind of gain. He wasn't sure what he stood to gain from her right at this moment but you never knew unless you tried.
"I am Zar, by the way." he offered amicably.

"I see... I guess I am, I was just sort of... following..," Lily gestured vaguely about her with her arms before smiling exasperatedly. This world was so different from what she was used to. Even this... guy.
She raised her hand daintily and held it there expectantly, "I am Lily."

He shook her hand warmly, a master of amicable handshakes. She had claws too. She was almost certainly a demon, he thought.
"Nothing wrong with that."
Even as he said it, he couldn't imagine wandering off with no set game plan or direction. He wasn't curious, he was opportunistic, and still feared being on his own. "Where are you from? Maybe I can help?"

Lily seemed startled by the handshake. Most certainly expecting something... else. She couldn't help but notice his claws too however. Seriously, what was he? She'd guess war... but his lack of... well... appropriate wings... crushed that thought. "I am from... hmmh," perhaps she should tread carefully. "Where are you from?" she hoped he'd be the gentleman and answer first.

Zar smiled as warmly as he was able. "I am from amityville academy I suppose you could say, it is not my home but it is more of a home than where I grew up." He wasn't too keen on calling amity his home, he realised. The school had been nothing but heartache for quite a long time for him. But he had nowhere else, the mansion at home was no less depressing than the school.

"Oh!" Lily smiled rather large, "You're a student?" That was a relief. She had so many concerns about mutated horsemen swimming through her thoughts. Her attention fixated a bit. "What are you, then, if I may ask?"

"I'm a student yes." he offered. "And an Incubus." He took her question to mean that she was not actually a student herself. "Are you from the town?" She certainly didn't seem like it. "What are you?"

An incubus, huh? Lily looked him over curiously. Committing this concept to memory. Then she realized he was asking her the same question. s**t. "Me? No. I'm not from here..," better come up with something fast. "I'm from a smaller village..," she didn't even have to lie about that, but as to what she was? She had to use all her bluffing skills, "and I'm sort of.. embarrassed... about what I am. Can I tell you another time?"

"Yes." he said with a lazy smile. "An Incubus. Specialist in exciting things." Like paperwork.
He went from friendly to downright suspicious however at her evasive response to asking what she was. Surely no race could be so embarrassing that one couldn't bear to divulge it? He instantly thought it was a bit too questionable, especially given that she had all the hallmarks of demonic lineage. "I would rather know for the sake of security you know. You could be anything at all, if you'll pardon my rudeness."
But if she wasn't going to tell him, he couldn't make her. "I will help you regardless, if you like."

Lily could feel the change in his demeanor. She didn't like it one bit. She most definitely went the wrong route with him. Quick, Lily, think of something that might actually be believable. She frowned deeply, finding nothing to fall back on in her memory banks. "Uhm... how do you feel about horsemen?" That was a bit of a giveaway. She did need help... but waited for his response before even considering accepting it.

"I feel they were out to lead us astray. We all got killed visiting their homeland. From what I gather most of them are vicious bloodthirsty warriors." Conquest had been a civilised place, but that could have been all deception, the elegant beauty and silken clothing just a ruse. The question made him think however that he might actually be speaking to one. He didn't think they left on their own.
"Curious, I suppose, is how I feel."

"Oh," Lily offered a slight pout of her lip. She wasn't sure if that was entirely good or bad so perhaps she should push it a bit further and confess. It hadn't occurred to her that he figured it out by this point most likely. "Well, I am one. I don't know about being a blood thirsty warrior but..," well, just but. She has been pretty bloodthirsty... but that was just humans. She has yet to kill any students... that she knows of.
