Zoom was just flittering about like always, the sun was shining the day was good, and he hadn’t a care in the world. His wings glimmering in the sun as he passed over a lovely tree only to stop suddenly and hover a bit. Moving back as if to make sure of what he had spotted before the leaves had blocked his view. Yes, there seemed to be another sitting there, but as if he were avoiding the sun. How weird was that?

Tilting his head slightly as he thought of the best way to approach. He flew to the other side of the tree to land. Wings tucked behind his back he paced some, wondering why such a task would be difficult for him. Finally he manned up and started to walk by as if not knowing the boy was there to begin with. He couldn’t help pause subconsciously to take in the site from a closer view “Hello, one who seems to wish to hide from the sun.”

Zoom, stepped back politely as he seemed to startle the other. This wasn’t his intention at all. A chuckle leaving his lips as the boy seemed to already be nit picking everything he said. “I see.” He said lightly before motioning next to Ryan as if asking to sit. “I always felt it was rude to just assume such things, may I?”

Another chuckle when Ryan seemed to think Zoom had named the boy such. “Oh I should hope not Ryan that would be a long name to remember.” He found himself sitting then if he got the go ahead or not. “I think I prefer the name Ryan myself, I’m Zoom by the way.” He closed his eyes at that although his head tilted up as if searching for the sun through the comforting shade of the tree. “May I ask, why you have decided to hide from the sun on such a lovely day as this?”

Zoom allowed Ryan’s words to wash over him as he just relaxed peacefully beside the boy. “The pleasure is all mine, I’m sure.” He kept his manners for now; after all, the boy was right. They were strangers and little was known about each other. Then again how were you to get to know people if you kept all strangers as just that, strangers?

“Then I’m sorry for intruding.” He smiled, opening his eyes to tilt his head towards the boy slightly looking him over. Such lovely and interesting ears he had. Only for him to chuckle once more when the boy asked him why he would join him. “Because I want to” he teased a smile rising on that face of his as he shook his head before correcting himself. “That and because you seemed lonely.”

Zoom glanced when given the thanks, a gentle smile leaving his lips. Only for it to fade some as the kid seemed to wish to push him off oh so soon, did he really dislike his company that much. “I was going where the wind took me, in fact I was quite bored other than enjoying the day.” He stated, although willing to stand as if he would leave. “If I’m a bother though, merely tell me to go and I’ll be gone.”

He paused when his wings were mention and a smile once more shown upon his lips. Turning to look over his shoulders yet give a full view of his back and wings to the other he would slowly spread them. “Yes “ he said softly, flying being one of the things he deeply enjoyed.

Fluttering the wings some before his smile turned into a grin. “Do you want to touch them? You can if you want.” He moved forward as he stated this though so that he would be in the sun and cause the boy to be as well if he did come to try to feel the wing. “I must say if you do be gentle, they tend to be a sensitive area for me.”

Zoom couldn’t help feel glad when the boy said he could stay. “I try not to let things tie me down too much.” He winked some, in his own manner letting the bunny one know he was all his for now. At the question of being able to fly Zoom couldn’t help but chuckle again. Why would he have wings if he couldn’t fly with them after all?

The gleam of the sun beating and reflecting the rainbows in which they held on other things, Zoom shifted curious. He moved so that they would reflect on Ryan some, given a gentle smile at his thoughts. The boy was handsome; not dazzling so, but in such a way you couldn’t help but like the simple things in life. It fit how Zoom took things at times, more one to dazzle while the world around him kept its own beauty.

Turning to face the boy, he leaned forward that sly smirk on his face before asking. “How heavy are you? You seem like you would be light.” He pondered if he could manage to carry the boy or hold him. Not sure if it was too bold of a move for strangers, but there was something about this one. He seemed to make Zoom smile a lot easier than he normally did, brought an extra light somehow.

At the statement that Zoom’s life had to be lonely in ways, the wings subconsciously lowered a bit. Sure it was true, something he wouldn’t outright admit to himself easily. It may even have been part of the deciding factor as to why he stopped to talk with this one. “I have friends . . .” It was as if he was trying to protest such loneliness to himself. “I just don’t like planning out most my life is all. I feel like you miss out on too much if you plan to often.”

At that he grinned and shrugged. “I mean, if I had somewhere to be I might not have stopped by when I saw you.” His smile brightened when the other spoke of not knowing or really caring what he weighed. “You’re a confident one then.” Sure it was a tease but it was nice that he wasn’t concerned. “Well then . . . can I try to guess your weight by any means possible?”

Zoom chuckled when Ryan seemed to say one thing then another. “Does anyone actually define their life?” He asked softly, so tempted to reach out and touch those ears but doing everything in his power not to least he scare the boy away. “I suppose I would say I’m on the go, yet flitter to stop randomly for long periods.”

A grin filled his lips as the boy before him bit his lips and answered. How cute was that? He was fearful which he had all rights to be Zoom supposed. He also was willing to dare in ways. Stepping close Zoom nodded bending over as if to study the boy, walking around him semi closely examining but not touching him. When he ended up face to face with him, the tease just beginning he decided to make the biggest risk of all.

If Zoom got away with it he would suddenly move forward to embrace the little rabbit tightly before moving his wings. A test to see if he could lift off the ground, and if he managed he would probably take him several feet before chuckling and waiting. He wanted to see the bunny’s reaction, willing to set him down if he panicked, or take him higher if he grew curious. His hold staying gentle and firm either way.

Leaning in to whisper into his ear in the end, “I knew you would be light enough to lift.” “Does this mean I swept you off your feet?” He couldn’t help adding in a light jest at the end.
