he just likes to get under my feet, it appears. this happens almost every day-
i'll be walking, he's nowhere to be seen, as i move my foot up and forward to take another step, he appears out of NOWHERE to try and attack my foot, and i hit him square in the ribs x.x

i feel feckin horrible when it happens, but he seems to understand that it's accidental, as i haven't seen him get upset about it by ignoring me or anything. thank goodness for that... as i've read an FML about a kitty peeing on it's owners clothes and backing into a corner and hissing when the owner got near them, just because the owner had accidentally stepped on its tail.

Check out the sticky regarding the ankle biters. XD

I often trip over my little beast. I attached a bell to her collar so I could hear her before I see her. O.o

That and Im clumsy as hell.

Happens all too often around feeding time here. They swarm me like little sharks.

Oh gosh, and accidentally stepping on their tails. D:

I did that once because I woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare about a giant monster-cat that apparently had Christmas's yelp as an "I'm going to kill you!" meow. But I had gotten up from that to get a drink of water and to clear my mind so I could get back to sleep again. Well, I accidentally stepped on Christmas's tail because it was perfectly laid out in the middle of the completely dark door way. She yelped, I screamed bloody murder and woke up the family. This scared her, she ran off, but thankfully forgave me later.

That is the danger of having a ninja cat. Here at college, sometimes when I'm walking, this black cat that I love would get underfoot and it probably looks like I'm about to kick her as I stop in mid-step to avoid that sort of thing.

Last Thanksgiving break, I accidentally stepped on my cat Frodo. It was dark, and he blended in really well. I actually thought it was my sister's cat at first because I wasn't hurt in any manner, she is declawed, and Frodo loves using his claws on me. It was only when I stooped to pet the cat in apology that I realized that it was Frodo. My sister's cat has silky hair while his is courser. I'm still surprised he didn't maul my foot.

i will.
my cat refuses collars. in fact, i've had 3 different collars for him, but he keeps going under my bed (which is inaccessible to humans, and the only way he can get out is to take on of the dresser drawers out) and pulling them off. i can SEE the collars under the bed with a flashlight at the right angle, but there is no way to grab them without deconstructing the entire bed, which i can;'t do because it's 15 pieces and i would have to take the WHOLE thing apart, and i don't even have the special screwdriver for it D;

ahahaha i mean it sucks that you you stepped on the tail but waking up the whole house, that's great xD

i'm surprised too! my kitty mauls my arm sometimes when i'm petting him. i'll be rubbin ghid belly, he purrs, then out of NOWHERE he grabs me, claws out, and bites me! because of that i no longer rub his belly unless i'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt so i don't get scratched.

It would be completely understandable if he did. I wonder if he realized that us humans can't see in as well in the dark as cat's can, and so it was an accident. He didn't act like he was holding a grudge against me even a few minutes afterwards.
Yeah, apparently that is a cat's way of testing us human, and by petting their belly, we fail and deserve retribution in their minds. Because of him, I'm afraid to pet any cat's stomach, even if I know their declawed. Granted, if I still see an opportunity, I will still sometimes take it. I just pay even more attention to Frodo's claws.

Yeah, I mean, looking back on it, it's actually pretty dang funny how that happened. I'm just glad she forgave me shortly after.

yeah but its funny, sometime he'll let me sit there and pet his belly for literally minutes on end, sometimes he attacks the second i touch it.

most cats i've met are forgiving. the only one i've ever known that held a grudge was my grandma's old cat. apparently i pulled her tail when i was like, 2, and even at age 16 if i got near her, she'd hiss at me and hide.

Same here, I think they notice that most of the time it's accident.

My cat goes out of his way to JUMP in front of my feet. He isn't trying to attack me. He just wants to walk in between my legs. Everyday he jumps in the way! Does it to everybody in the house. He's only 6 months old. Maybe he'll learn one day that getting kicked is no fun.

xd Roman does this ALL THE TIME.

Sometimes for food, in the morning when we feed him, or in the kitchen when we're cooking (he's a beggar). And then sometimes for just attacking your feet.

First I tried a bell collar, but he's a champion at getting them off.

And mega playtime every day to stop the attacking, but it didn't slow him down.

What I've got now, is actually a dog collar (none of that slip off s**t, he's too smart for that, and there's nothing for him to get caught on to need a breakaway collar) with a bell, and very careful feet xd . He still gets kicked sometimes, but not too often.
