It wasn't as if she was getting used to the idea of exploring her new school, but Maple could still feel her nerves not getting the better of her. Perhaps it was more that she grown accustomed to the all familiar sets of failure, she was going to get lost and not know where she was going and that was all that was to it.
It didn't help the little witch from nibbling on her lower lip, however, as she trekked up hill that loomed over one side of her own dormitory. The idea of an elegant house on a hill was, oddly enough, a little exciting, and not so oddly, a little foreboding to the young ghoul. A place she might not have been welcomed to.
And really, the gate she found herself nearly walking into was probably a better indicator. "O-oh." Maple blinked, clutching her hands to her chest as she looked up at the tall structure that had come up on her without her noticing - really, walking with one's head down was not good. It was tall and elegant, well all the buildings she had come across had a similar air but... there was perhaps something about this one. Perhaps another set of dorms?
Maple stood for a moment, her eyes still wandering about as she tried to make heads or tails of where she was.

Walking out of his dorm room with his wings sagging behind him, the Gancanagh was a bit put out at the dream he'd had during the night. It would be better for him to walk it off. Despite all the memories that his alternate self had had, he couldn't shake the fact that his alternate had been happier.
Hadn't really had any worries.
It bothered him.
Marosa was so engrossed in his thoughts that he very nearly didn't notice the young witch in front of him, nearly running over her. He blinked owlishly, staring at her for a beat until he spoke up.
"Are ye lost?"

Maple had managed to spot the morose boil before any real damage could be done, dodging enough out of the way before he had ran head first into a pair of horns or something.
The little witch couldn't help but blush as he asked her the question of the week, her gaze shifting downward with a sheepish look on her face, "I-I s-saw this p-place from my d-dorm," she began to explain when she lifted her brown eyes back to him. "B-but, I didn't kn-know what.. was here.. s-so, y-yes?"
Honestly, she wasn't sure if it could be counted as being lost when it was just not knowing where one was exactly. Okay, maybe a little? Maple pushed her lips together, uncertain as she looked at the brightly colored haired boil in front of her. Who looked a little ... huh, "A-are y-you okay....?"
Wait- was it okay for her to ask him that? When she didn't know him. And had only exchanged a few words? Oh hells, she didn't know! Was she already heading this conversation south with her concern?

Marosa gave her a kind smile, brushing his bangs out of his face. "Oi'm fine. Jes a strange dream, is all. Tanks fer yer concern," He murmured, wings fluttering behind him in a curious manner.
"Tees are th' demon dorms," The faerie mentioned, head tilting to the side a bit. "Oi dinnae s'pose ye'd like a tour?" In truth, Marosa would be more than happy to lead her around. It would help him collect his thoughts, and any company was better than no company at all.
Besides that, she seemed like a cute ghoul that just needed a push in the right direction. Maybe he'd need that as well. He would have to talk to Sharra at some point, but that could always wait until later. Just... not too much later.
"Oi'm Marosa," The Gancanagh introduced himself with a small bow. "Who may oi have th' pleasure of accompanying?"chirigami omg she is adoooorable <3333

If she wasn't frazzled enough with her panic over etiquette with new people and expressing concern at appropriate times, hearing she had wandered over to the Demon's dorm area sent Maple's mind going a mile a minute. Be it her old fashioned upbringing and sensibility, and just not being in the school long enough where so many of these principles were thrown right out the window, but demons were so highly regarded. It at least made sense why they were housed on such a high mountain, over looking them all in their grandly built building with a fence.
"O-oh, h-hopefully i-it wasn't t-too bad," she replied, stutter in full force, firstly addressing his condition, once her brain started to work a little better. "and it'll p-pass." His wings at least seemed a little less dismal.
She pushed her lips together for a moment, "i-it's nice to m-meet you Mr. M-Marosa," managed with a smile along with an awkward stiff curtsey, "I-I'm ...Maple." Oh, hopefully this was going alright. This was her first formal introduction to a demon outside of family occasions and circumstances.
"A-are you sure it w-would be alright?" She then asked him, since his offer still stood. "T-the t-tour," just to clarify. Because, she really didn't want to get in trouble for being some place she shouldn't. Hopefully this wasn't some trick or something, it would just be her luck.

"Maple. Tat's a good name." Marosa smiled as he stretched, wings fluttering behind him as he walked forward. "An' ye dinnae hafta call me mister, jes Marosa is fine, lassie." Smiling down at her, he couldn't help but pat her gently on the head. "Oi'm not tat formal, so no need tae be tat way. Jes be yerself, yeah?"
The faerie was slightly worried about Maple, so he knelt down to her level, his face kind. "Oi hope oi dinnae scare ye. Oi'm really nae tryin'." In truth, he scared himself mainly because of his ability. He was more than happy there was a limit on it, but he inwardly shivered at what he'd seen his father accomplish in that time frame.
He only hoped that if Maple touched him on accident, it wouldn't harm her in the long run. She was almost like a little sister he never had.

Well, this was definitely different. Not that the demons her family knew weren't kind to her, but this didn't feel forced or socially obligating. Like Marosa meant it. It was not what she was used to, or what she had read about and Maple wasn't sure what to make of it. Was it this school or was she just so obviously pathetic?
"I'm s-sorry," she stuttered, embarrassed with a flush upon her cheeks. He was talking to her on such an even level, like their social standings meant nothing. "I d-don't g-get to m-meet m.. many .. demons," Maple explained in so many words. He probably thought she was so weird. How did anyone in Halloween not meet other factions? With the bustle of their world, it probably seemed so improbable.
And this kind faerie hadn't scared her at all, just flustered her and she wasn't sure how to explain it right without tripping over her words and probably making it worse.

Marosa was one of the demons who didn't have very much pride in what he was, but he loved whatever friends he could make, and loved whatever company he could keep.
"Nae need tae be sorry, lass. Oi like helpin'." The faerie tilted his head, sending his hair tumbling over his shoulder. Slightly annoyed with it, he shoved it back out of the way. "Nae, oi'm nae like most demons. I've been raised tae act like 'em, but here oi kin be meeself. Oi'm a faerie, by the by, if'n ye dinnae guess by th' wings an' all."

In so little of words, Maple was finding this so terribly weird. It was so against her status quo and her mind couldn't even be more flustered about what to do. He didn't act like most demons? Well, what was she supposed to do with that? She only knew how to interact with them when they acted like, well... them. How could she possibly manage to act like he was on her lowly level.
"Aa," she stammered, "I-I r-really ap-preciate it, r-really."
Of course, though, she did have to notice the wings. They were a little hard to miss even in her panic, but it wasn't something she would really mention out loud. "I-I've n-never m-met a f-faerie b-before," she admitted. They appeared many times in some of the books her family owned (she would not mention how many time faerie wings appeared for ingredients). "I-I'm a w-witch."

His eyes sparked up as soon as she'd mentioned that she was a witch, and he gave her a coy grin. "Ah, oi'd better watch me step then, so ye dinnae turn me into a cat or somethin' likes it." Marosa chuckled, shaking his head. "Ye have never met one, but have ye heard of 'em?" He was curious, and glanced at her briefly before turning a corner, already having memorized the corridors to certain places.
Folding his slightly sore wings flat against his back, he sighed and massaged his temples, already knowing that his wings had been deteriorating for some time. He'd be sad to finally see them go, but fate was fate; no matter how hard he tried to take care of his wings, there was no stopping the holes from appearing or the edges from cracking and fraying into dust.

Maple found herself blushing once again at his coy little jest. If she were able to do any of his cheeky little suggestions, well she'd probably be a lot happier with herself. It at least eased a little more of the tension in her mind, along with that little grin. "Y-you d-don'y h-have.. t-to worry ab-bout th-that.. yet.." she mumbled, finding her mary-jane shoes a little more interesting for a moment.
"Y-yes, I h-have," she replied to next to push the subject off of her once more. Maple nodded as she brought her eyes back present and forward (and in time to avoid running into something), "a f-few b-books m-mentioned th-them." She explained, gently placing a hand on one of the walls to steady herself as she followed. (Oh, Hecate, was it okay to touch? She pulled her hand back quickly).
Sadly, the few books her family owned on the two fae courts were often glossed over; after all, not many had horns. So, guessing what kind Marosa belonged to would be a bit of a challenge. Maple was honestly a little curious, and she tried mentally going through a few of the types she had remembered reading about.

"Ah, oi suppose ye know about the different kinds of faeries, aye?" His smile dissipated as he walked, a more somber look set on his face. If she asked, he would explain what he was, but he was careful not to touch her as he led her to the right place. Hopefully he could find her a map, as well.
Marosa glanced to her, his eyes lighthearted. He really was interested in learning anything she had to say, and didn't mind waiting for her to say it. Maybe with time she'd get better at talking to him?chirigami SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY ffffffff

Keeping her hands to herself as she followed seemed to be the best of ideas at the moment. As nice as it was to keep them out to steady herself, the little witch desperately didn't want to cause any more trouble by touching things that someone like herself was not allowed to in a demon's dorm. They tugged at her collar and she let her eyes take in all that she saw as he guided her.
"A f-few," she told him, feeling any sort of smile that she could have had gone as his disappeared. Oh please don't say she had insulted him! "Th-there are t-two.. c-courts, y-yes?" Something she could recall, even though what he was still escaped him (and she would not mention the wings for cauldron spells, nope!).
"Wh-what k-kind are .. you?" Oh, please don't be mad at her for not knowing what he was! Please please... please... worry filled her head and concern filled her eyes.

"There's a few courts, though oi dinnae know the exact number." Marosa shrugged, frowning as he thought. He'd never really wanted to take over his father's position, and the fact worried him a little. "Never really got into politics. Never really cared for 'em much." He smirked, then frowned at her last question, keeping it simple.
"Gancanagh."

"Oh," came a small sheepish probably way too quiet reply as she rubbed at one of her arms. Okay, well Maple had admitted to herself that she hadn't read too much about fairies so she couldn't really beat herself too much about learning there were more than two. Marosa seemed to be brushing it off as well, that was also a good sign.
Maple's eyes flitted upwards to the ceiling at the mention of his species, as if it would help filter through the information in her head. Gancanagh. The name sounded vaguely familiar, the witch was sure she had glanced at it at least once as she shifted through pages. "L-love t-talker..." She once again mumbled out as she recalled a meaning in some parenthesis next to the name.
Oh!
Maple's eyes went frontward as her lips pushed together. Another blush crept along her cheeks at what she had just muttered. "Th-that's ... all .. I r-remember." Something about skin? She wasn't sure.
