[PRP] New Hellos (Amethyst x Khat)

The sun had just begun to rise when Amethyst peeked her head out from the lean-to that she had erected the night before. She glanced around carefully for any approaching creatures. The glow warmed up her exposed nose as she carefully scanned her surroundings. She delicately maneuvered out of the small shelter. As she moved out she knocked over the main supporting pole. "Oops." She hadn't planned on staying in that same spot that night, but it would have been nice to have a back-up spot as it smelled faintly of rain. It would be a beautiful day for rain if the clouds chose to weep that night. She glanced around and located the direction she had come from the day prior. She could have sworn that she saw a berry bush that way. She walked through the slightly trampled plants that she had crushed when she had chosen this sleeping spot, examining the scenery as she went.

Khat was always an early riser. The grass, he found, tasted best when it was still watery with dew or frost, in some cases. Sighing a little, the male stepped away from his family and stretched himself out before trotting down to where he knew a good patch of grass was. It was new grass, too. His tail flicked this way and that, loose strands trailing through the dirt and grass behind him. He'd have to ask his human to braid him again. At least his mane still looked good. Even if he did just wake up.

However, a pair of hooves on the grass caught his attention, making his orange eyes glance about until he found... a winged horse near that patch of grass he was going to eat. Well, well.

"Hello there," he called to her, picking up his pace, grinning wide. She was mighty pretty!

As she was observing the foliage Amethyst failed to notice the unknown set of hooves on the earthen floor ahead of her. As a result she gave a small jump backwards when the unfamiliar voice called out to her.

Her bright blue eyes lifted to be met by a pair of shimmering orange ones. She quickly averted her eyes and glanced around unsteadily. "Oh - hello, um, good morning . . ." she managed to choke out. It hadn't quite dawned upon her until that moment that she was bound to run into a fellow soquili in such an expansive forest, yet she felt completely unprepared for an encounter. She blinked a few times to wake herself up a bit. Oh dear, she hadn't even had breakfast, but perhaps this stallion would know where that bush was that she could have sworn she had seen. She would ask in a little bit if he seemed safe to approach.
