"A-Are you sure you want to do all this?"She was nervous, fearful, but most of all overwhelmed. Shortly after their courtship, Dhoru had approached her with the idea of finding a new den. It wasn't that they weren't happy in the one they now shared. It was just .. a little cramped. Dhoru was a far bigger lion than Nema and he took up quite a bit of space in her small cozy den. She had agreed quickly and happily to finding a new one, but as the two searched it seemed to be getting harder and harder to find something. She was truly on her last strand of whatever sanity she had left. But she wanted to do this, not only for Dhoru, but because secretly she wanted to have a family soon. She'd never brought this up to Dhoru, but she felt the time was approaching fast. Though she knew having a stable den was a must have before her dreams could become a reality. Briefly she had wondered whether Hasi would be happy or angry if the two of them had cubs. But then she'd decided she wouldn't care. She loved Hasi, almost as much as Dhoru - though in a more sisterly way. But she wouldn't let Hasi ruin her or her cub's lives if she disagreed with their plans. "I think we've been cursed with bad luck! Nothing we find is big enough for the two of us. OH MY GOSH - WHAT IF WE ARE CURSED?"The lioness began taking deep breaths, placing her paw on top of her mate's and trying to regain her composure. "This is all my fault!"

Dhoru was slightly surprised by the intensity of Nema's sudden outburst, but he shook it off quickly. He was beginning to grow used to her strong emotions and the swiftness with which they could change, although sometimes they still managed to throw him off.
Stretching forward, he touched his nose to her ear and fondly and calmly whispered, "Calm down, my love. Of course I'm sure about this, we are not cursed, we will find a den, we are not cursed and the only thing that's your fault around here was me falling in love with you."
Dhoru held the position for a heartbeat or two before pulling back and licking Nema's cheek. Catching her eye, he held her gaze and smiled, feeling all the love and happiness inside him glowing through. Motioning with his head for Nema to follow, he padded on with her at his side, their pelts brushing.
Although he'd never admit it, Dhoru also felt slightly discouraged. The two had been searching for a new den for a few days now, and had had no luck - and waking up every morning feeling as though he'd slept shoved into a shell like a hermit crab. Dhoru absolutely adored sleeping curled up with Nema, but he would definitely prefer it if they could sleep curled up together and go about his day without aching, cramped muscles.
Not to mention, they'd need more room if they hoped to fit even more bodies into the den. The tiny, warm, fragile kind of body. As they continued to pad onward in search of a new den, Dhoru couldn't stop the purr that escaped his throat - not that he would have if he could.

"OK. Deep breath. OK .. You're right." Nema inhaled one final deep breath before exhaling all of her stress out in one large huff. "I'm just scared is all ... what if there's nothing left?" Of course logically she knew there were dozens of dens left, they just weren't having any luck finding them. The affectionate lick to her cheek, sent Nema's little heart into overload and she blushed with pure glee. As he held her gaze, she felt all of the stress she'd been harboring simply melt away, it was as if he were holding her in a tight embrace, whispering in her ear that everything would be just fine. As the two began walking once again, she kept her eyes alert for possible ideas, all the while keeping her pace steady with Dhoru's. As long as he were close, everything would be just fine. "You can't blame everything on me y'know!' She teased playfully, rubbing her cheek against his. "I think your sweet little heart has some blame to take for this as well." She beamed happily, sticking her tongue out at the male in an attempt to provoke his playful side. "But I suppose if it was all my fault, i'd better learn to contain my wooing powers! I don't need any more males than I have." She smiled happily over his shoulder to him, listening to his purrs grow louder the longer they walked.

"Good, because I don't need any battle scars from chasing off would-be suitors!" Dhoru chuckled and, with his shoulder, gave Nema a gentle, playful shove. "I'm sure we'll find something soon; after all, we haven't been looking for that long. Have we?"
Curiously, Dhoru glanced skywards to regard the sun. He was right - it hadn't been more than a few hours. But he'd had to check, since time always seemed funny when he was with Nema. He could lay with her for hours that turned out to be heartbeats, and they could play in the water for heartbeats that turned out to be half the day. Apparently love had the power to alter time for those in it.
Shrugging off the thoughts, he returned his attention to finding a den. Suddenly, he spotted something promising - a large dark spot on the cliff face with hanging plants draped across it. Possibly the entrance to a roomy den, with a door of sorts?
Gesturing to the area with his tail, he remarked to Nema, "What about that?" and began trotting over to investigate.

Nema chuckled at his words, allowing a slow but steady purr to slip from her throat. "Of course you don't! We wouldn't anything to destroy your pretty little face." Nema paused in her tracks a moment, playfully raising a paw to Dhoru's face. He really was an adorable little ball of fluff, but she kept her choice of words to herself. Something about 'adorable little ball of fluff' didn't seem very complimentary for a male of his size. Instead she smiled to herself, she was definitely going to keep that one to herself. As the two began to walk again, Nema's eyes scanned the area for a would be den. But as was her luck, she wasn't having the luck she'd wished. She'd had the perfect den before! It had taken ages to find it too. But now she was growing into a family lioness, which meant bigger dens, and big life changes. Truthfully she just wanted to give up. To talk Dhoru into going back to their cramped little den, and taking a nap. But just as she went to open her mouth, Dhoru stopped her. Her eyes followed the direction his tail pointed, until they made contact with the den. She allowed herself an audible gasp as her heart skipped a beat. A possible den? ON the cliff's face? Surely it was too good to be true. "I dunno lets go investigate." Before the words could properly escape her mouth her mate was already trotting over quickly, so quickly she had to increase her paces to catch up. The closer she got, the stranger the feeling in her belly became. At first it had felt like butterflies, but now it seemed the butterflies were resting. The flipping and flopping had ceased, and she seemed more at ease. "It seems nice ... but is there anything in there? I don't want to intrude ... but I don't smell anything either.."

As Nema stopped at the hole's entrance beside him, Dhoru took a moment before answering to cautiously sniff at the rock. Drawing the air over his tongue, he could taste jackal scent - but it was very, very stale. In fact, it was so faint he couldn't be sure that he wasn't imagining it.
Shrugging, he turned to Nema and said, "It doesn't seem like anyone has lived here for more moons than I've been alive. I'm going to investigate deeper; if you want to come along, I wouldn't refuse the company."
Turning back, he padded quietly into the cave, taking care to place his paws as softly as he could. As the light diminished, he probably should have slowed to allowed his eyes the time to adjust, but he strode on - and paid the price. His eyes adjusted just in time for his to see the rock in front of him as he bumped his nose off of it. Pulling back, more from surprise than actual pain, he raised a paw to rub at his snout and called back, "Careful! The ceiling is pretty low here!"
When the throbbing in his nose subsided, he lowered his paw again and started to search for a way forward, finding it near the floor. While the ceiling seemed to have dropped down to the floor, there was actually a sizable gap between the two and Dhoru discovered that, if he crouched, he could pull himself through the gap as if he were stalking prey. The fur on both his belly and his back brushed gently against the rock on either side, but it was a pretty comfortable fit.
Calling back to Nema once again, he informed her of what to do should she want to follow him. Keeping his eyes forward, he slowly hauled himself on.
Shortly after, he realized he could no longer feel the rock above him - that the ceiling had receded again. The drop in the tunnel was only about a lion's length. Blinking, he also realized that the cave was getting brighter. He waited for Nema to emerge from the tunnel before pressing on; only a few paw steps further in, a wall of solid rock loomed in front of them, and Dhoru thought they had reached a dead-end; however, they realized that the source of the light seemed to be coming from behind them.
Turning around, they realized that the tunnel folded back on itself - and before their eyes, opened up into a cavern. It was wide enough to comfortably fit four adult lions with room to spare, and the walls were made of a mixture of stone and packed earth - very stable, but with many little shelves and nooks to hold personal items.
Looking up, Dhoru discovered the source of the light. High above them - higher than any creature could jump - and off in one corner was a cluster of small holes in the ceiling. The gaps were too small for anything more than prey to fit through, but even if anything did squeeze in, there was no way it could get down to the bottom without falling - a fall that was unlikely to be survived. There was also no way anything could climb up and out.
Directly below the holes there was a shallow bowl in the stone floor. Pointing it out to Nema, Dhoru remarked, "I don't know if that's natural or if some animal created it, but I bet that when it rains, that will fill up with water. Combine that with the great defensive entrance, and I think that all this place needs to be the perfect den is some moss and such to make a nest. What do you think?"

Nema was still a bit apprehensive to enter, goodness only knows what could be hiding in the dark dampness of that cave! But if Dhoru was comfortable going in, then she would of course follow him. She knew Dhoru would rather die than allow anything to happen to her. Though just for her own comfort she would follow at a distance. Which proved to be a good idea, she heard the bump, followed by a small grunt. "Dhoru?! Are you OK? What happened?" She was near panic in the darkness, but as quickly as the fit had come on, it was gone. A low ceiling, well if that was all .. She listened intently to his every instruction, now a bit more worried that she could no longer feel his tail just in front of her, and his voice ... it was fading away ... then just as quickly it was echoing! Confused, Nema followed his instructions, allowing her belly to scoot through the small entrance before finally opening up into the amazing den before them. It took everything she had for her jaw to not simply drop at sight. It was near perfect! "I ... I think you might be right. But how has this place gone unnoticed for so long?! It's simply amazing!"Her smile widened as she took in the entire den around her, there were a few bugs, but nothing tooo big. Then she noticed the ceiling. Or the lack of one in some places. She could see the sky! Which meant ... yes! She would be able to see the stars! Her heart nearly leaped out of her chest for a moment before she flung herself at Dhoru. "Its perfect! What would I ever do without you?!" She giggled the words as she placed a few well placed licks to his cheek. Now she could truly say she had it all .. a mate .. a den .. happiness. What else was there that she could ask for? Rennekae Finally got it done! sorry for the wait >.<

Depawsit It's totally okay. Life doesn't always follow people's plans. XD; His joy at finding the cavern was nothing compared to the immense bliss he felt to find that Nema loved the den - their den. AS she threw herself at him, he broke out into delighted purring. Dhoru allowed himself to become lost in the wave of love and happiness for several heartbeats, exchanging nuzzles and fond licks with his new lifemate. Even thinking about how they would spend the rest of their lives together made Dhoru think his heart would explode from too much happiness.
Pulling himself back to reality, he reminded himself that there was still work to be done - although thankfully not much. All that they really needed to do was gather bedding and choose a place to make their nest. He debated clearing out the sand on the floor, and the bugs that crawled pretty much everywhere, but realized quickly that there wouldn't be much point. It wouldn't be long at all until both returned in abundance.
"I suppose we should go look for that moss now," he murmured. "It would be better to gather some fresh as opposed to just bringing the bedding from our current dens." Dragging himself away from Nema reluctantly, he turned and began padded back down the tunnel - this time, without smacking his face off of anything.

The feeling she had in her heart, was unlike anything she'd ever felt before. Being so close to another, knowing that the other wanted nothing more than to be with her forever. It made her want to squeal really loud and stamp her feet. But she wouldn't, Dhoru would likely think she'd gone mad. Instead she allowed the moment to swallow her up, getting drunk off of the emotions swelling through her. At least she was, until Dhoru ended the moment. Though she knew he was right to do so, it still irked her a bit. Standing once again on her paws, she nodded quietly at his next comment. Before watching him as he exited the cave, making sure he didn't obtain any more injuries in the process. "So I was thinking ... with a bigger cave we can build a more comfy nest! Maybe we can find some feathers and soften the bedding a little bit more?" Her excitement was flowing out of her in waves. Not only did she have Dhoru by her side ... forever. A shiver went down her spine at the thought. But she hadn't expected to find a den so quickly AND easily! This was definitely their lucky day. As she pranced around Dhoru in circles something quickly caught her attention and she froze nearly in her tracks. It was something she'd thought of, but only in her dreams ... her really strange vivid dreams .... "H-Hey Dhoru .... do you think we need a bigger nest?" Her words were timid, and slightly whispered, almost as though she didn't want him to hear them. What if he ran away? Didn't males run away when girls started talking babies? Oh gods, the very thought had the poor girl shaking from head to tail in no time.

Dhoru nodded thoughtfully. "Feathers would definitely be nice. What would you think about adding a few flowers, like lavender or something, so the nest smells nice and relaxing?"
When Nema stopped, Dhoru thought at first that his suggestion had somehow upset her. Terribly confused and a little worried, he looked back over his shoulder at her. He caught his name - although barely - and strained to hear the rest of Nema's question, his ears pushed forward.
"Bigger? I guess so. The nest will need more room to accommodate both of us, and a little spare room wouldn't hurt; we wouldn't want to be cramped and - Wait. Oh. Bigger." When he realized what Nema was really asking, Dhoru felt as though an elephant had fallen on him. It wasn't the nest that was important so much as what might be in it. His heart skipped a beat and his legs very nearly gave out; he had been thinking about cubs for a little while now, but hadn't been sure how to broach the subject. After all, it was Nema that had to carry and birth the cubs, shouldn't it be her decision? And now it was, and Dhoru couldn't be happier.
"Are you sure? he asked excitedly, with a big, dopey grin plastered to his face.

It felt like her legs were getting weaker and weaker by the second. She could just feel herself shaking and wobbling back and forth as she tried to remain still. This was a serious subject, something that was bound to come up. But if it was such a good thing, why was she so scared?
Taking a good look at her mate rested her ease, but only slightly. It appeared he was feeling nearly as weak in the knees as she was. But when he opened his mouth, it seemed that her words hadn't really given the impact she expected. But then, a large dopey grin and the widest eyes one could make. He was happy?
Nervously, she patted the ground by her feet, trying to regain her stability.
"I ... I think so. Wait no, I don't know!
What do you think?"
Obviously she wanted this to be a joint decision, but at the same time she didn't want her own approval, just his. If he wanted cubs, she would give him as many as she possibly could. Anything to keep him happy, anything to keep that dopey, fluffball of a mate happy.

Her indecision made Dhoru's smile falter, and the word "no" almost made his heart break. When it occurred to him that Nema was only nervous, and that she actually did know what she wanted, he sagged with relief. Of course, she's just worried! he chuckled to himself.
Smiling broadly again, Dhoru stepped forward and placed his muzzle on Nema's ear. He whispered, "I would love a bigger nest," through a rumbling purr of happiness, and gently nudged the cheek of the love of his life.
Any worries, any negative thoughts about anything in the world, melted away in the light of this moment. Dhoru felt like nothing else would ever matter again - just the two of them, and the family they would soon have.
"I hope you're aware that I'm a part of that family whether you like it or not."
Dhoru only purred harder at Hasi's 'threat'; it was nice to know that she was fond enough of Nema to want to be included in their future. Their wonderful, bright future. Depawsit Did you want to do a wrap-up post and then call this one done? There's enough posts, and that's make's Dhoru's completed rp count 8. I have two other active rps but.. they're pretty much being ignored. XD; Want to start a rp with Hana, Dhoru and Vanellope? Sorry if I spelled that wrong.

Nema's knees nearly gave out on her at Dhoru's response. But at the same time, her heart was afloat with excitement. If she had any doubts about his certainty in being her mate before, they were gone now. He truly wanted to start a family with her, and well she couldn't be happier. Her purrs quickly blended with Dhoru's creating one soft super purr, and she returned his nuzzles in kind. For the life of her she couldn't figure out how she could ever be this lucky. "I love you so much." She mumbled, closing her eyes and burying her face into her mate's giant fluffy mane. "And I can't wait to carry your cubs, and spend the rest of my life with you Dhoru."
