Emily walked up the path that cut through the front lawn to their front door. She was returning home from work, burdened with yet another last minute stack of reports that needed to be finished by tomorrow. They weren't even her reports to finish but all the same, she had said she'd take them on so her co workers hadn't had to stay late at the office. Entering the house, she let out a sigh. It was good to be home where she could relax. "I'm Home!" She called out as she closed the door behind her.

Joey heard Emily say she was home, he jumped up and ran to her." "I'm so glad you are home, how was work?" He looked at the huge pile. "Aww hun, you work yourself way too hard....." He snuggled her. "I might be able to help, if you tell me how to do this stuff." He attempted to touch the paperwork but decided he would most likely knock it over. "Why do you do this to yourself, you need to relax sometimes, I know you do relax, but this much work is too much for you. You do it so often that I'm afraid you are going to work yourself sick." He nuzzled her. "You know I worry about you, maybe I shouldn't, but I can't help it, I love you Emily, you mean the world to me."

She heaved a deep sigh at his worry. She knew he meant well and only was looking out for her own well being, but she still couldn't help the way she was. "I just couldn't say no, Joey... They needed the help.." She said frowning. "I promise.. these reports are mostly done and just need a few things to finish them up.. half of them only have a couple pages left to do so.. I'll finish those while you finish dinner and we can eat, talk, and the other half I'll finish before bed. Tomorrow, I won't even take any work home.. and you can meet me at the office and we can have lunch and then an outing after I'm out of work. Sound fair?" She knew he must be feeling some what neglected this week. After all, she had been working late or bringing home her work every night this week.

"Sounds fair to me." He snuggled her again. "So what would my angel like for dinner?" He helped her with the papers. "You have such a big heart, I hope it doesn't stress you out...." He didn't know what the heck these noodles were thinking always taking advantage of her big heart.

She thought about what she wanted to eat for a moment. "You know what.. How about your surprise me.. just nothing spicy." She smiled at him as he helped her with her papers. "How was your day dear?" She moved, putting the papers on the coffee table as per usual and sat down to start working on dwindling the numbers of her reports.

"My day was crazy, almost died several times, but I'm so fast I got away from the bombs. I won't ever die, I can't, don't ever want to leave you alone, I love you way too much." He thought for abit. "I'm gonna cook some fish with veggies and some fried potatoes, love potatoes."
He went into the kitchen and started cutting up veggies, then potatoes. Took the fish out of the fridge. He put the fish on the counter, put some lemon slices on the fish, then popped it into the now warming up stove.
"You know my buddies would laugh at me if they knew I could cook. I almost broke my lucky bat today, soon I'm gonna get a mettle one, but I just like the feel of wooden bats." He smiled then tossed the veggies into a frying pan, then tossed the potatoes into a different pan, and watched them slowly cook.
"I'm not happy that you work so much still, I don't like them pushing everything on you, and I know you like to help, but there is a point you have to say no.... I'm tempted to go to your work with my lucky bat...." He giggled.
