Strangely colored orbs of blue and green stared off into the distance of grey-blue outside a window made of nearly invisible glass. The minute sound of wind rushing furiously against the glass could be heard but one would not think it was in fact wind. The slick black contraption was no other than a jet from Novum Fulgar, a beautiful piece of technological prowess which was expected from such a great land. The leader of Novum Fulgar was not going to simply appear via the glass elevators, leaders need to make a lasting impression. Sitting in a hovering plush scarlet red chair was a woman, her expression that of contemplation and slight confusion. Her mind was pondering on what this 'peace' fest as to serve, a citizen from her land was killed. What kind of peace could be found in Innocent blood spilled? Arcana the leader of Novum Fulgar closed her obscure eyes and laid her back against the chair. Perhaps a form of agreement could be found through the pretentious feast of fake smiles and cut throat glances... perhaps. "I suppose it is time...." A deviant smile surfaced on her face as she opened her eyes to Obsidian siting in front of her.
~~~~Arrival: Lucidus Magus~~~~~~
Lucidus Magus, a land of peace and tranquility within the skies. A land that only allowed for two pathways to be reached from, one that was expensive and the other dangerous if you were not aligned with Novum Fulgar. It was befitting that a 'island of paradise' could not be easily reached by just anyone but then again weren't all the lands similar? Obsidian, the leader of the Novum Fulgar army, removed his hand from his crisp cerulean dress pants and held it out for a woman emerging from the jet. Arcana placed her slender hand within his and continued down the holographic stairs. "How does it feel?" Obsdiain's grin was like a Cheshire cat as he lead her to the hover car. "Hmm, I can't say. The natural contrived beauty never fails to amaze" Arcana retorted sarcastically before entering the sleek onyx car. The machine roared to life and it was now on its way to where the festival would be held. "Has K.A.I already made the proper accommodations?" Arcana asked while playing with her illuminating aqua teardrop pendant. "Of course, he has been here since yesterday. More than enough time for that" Obsidian laughed softly at her question. K.A.I was their best and first of the Jitter Dolls, failure is not in his program nor was it something Assassin AI allowed for. The reminder of the ride was in silence as Obsidian ran through the files on his holographic computer. It was humorous to him that everything was falling into place and he didn't even have to lift a finger.
The air was sweet with an unknown fragrance as the breeze rushed through the golden black tresses of a man sitting. A high point in a city within the sky may have been a perilous choice to be simply sitting but it was calming for this Jitter Doll. This instance also allowed for the completion of his's surveillance, he finalized the new Intel and quickly forwarded to his master. Now it was back to enjoying the sky's brilliance and the caress of the wind. It was obsucure for K.A.I because he felt, he truly felt as though something was still missing. It was a minuscule notion that he locked away but it was ever present within his technological membrane. "What is it that I want?" K.A.I. posed the question to himself, his voice unlike other creations was human in essence with a slight un earthly quality. Yet many in Novum Fulgar could have their voice boxes contorted and enhanced, as long as the money was present. K.A.I. was a secret to the masses and those who saw him simply assumed a man of Novum Fulgar advancements. K.A.I. stood up from the ledge he was on and took one step forward falling from the great height. In a matter of seconds the Jitter Doll de-materialized into the electrical currents in the air and reappeared on the ground. K.A.I. continued about his way without skipping a beat, heading towards the festival grounds.
((Hello all Novum Fulgar pplz are back and anyone can come by to chat them up smile )))
Manson had walked around here and there, finally sealing off his accommodations, dropping off his luggage, and then grabbing a sandwich. He was staying as the Pluma Inn, a normally affordable place, but had had its prices squeezed all the way up with the Peace Festival. This trip was swallowing his wallet, but if the photographer was lucky, a reasonable amount of prints would sell if he ever got around to pulling out the effort or else.
Room 317 was simple, more nice than not, but was also dark, hardly collecting any of the light as the view was of the next overshadowing adjacent building. Manson only had just set down his belongings before stepping out again to see if he could find the whereabouts of the members of the unusual group he had three months before or if they had even arrived. They'd been on his mind often as not much had happened since and he'd simply associated them with one of the more exciting days of his life that he longed for.
The photographer was lucky, really lucky. He took his camera to his eye, zoomed in once he found her in the lens and there she was: Aiden, the catalyst that took Manson to that one eventful day. The camera moved up, following the tall proportion of the man she was with and Manson knew the stranger well enough. Both were from Thesaurum Oppidum, but one was a leader and the other a civilian.
It was unplanned, but seeing as Aiden had arrived a day early she didn't know if the note from Layla, was relevant. It was simple, yet cute because it was in the diction of a thirteen-year-old girl. It let Aiden know that because Vossler was keeping the girl in his watch, Layla would be stuck in the Aureus Laus, an over-the-top fancy smancy hotel that most of the faction leaders were staying. Finding Layla equaled finding Vossler Stone.
Aiden thought it was a shame. As far as she knew, Vossler had been giving the girl private defense and attack lessons. This meant Layla at least knew how to hold a sword in her hand and maybe even a gun. Of course the Aes leader with his mind entirely concerned with the military would take it to the next level of his family parsay. Although these were not the factors of her own childhood, Aiden once again found another wall for her and Vossler to stand on either side of.
"Hey," Aiden said. She'd been turned away from Chance, looking past the runway, unsure of how to get off the actual airport. "Have you booked your hotel or anything? Vossler is staying at the Aureus Laus. It's stuffy, but your bound to run into other faction leaders there too."
(Noooo, I just got mine back. I finally slept for the first time in two days!)
Since Aiden wasn't inclined to lead the 'charge' out of the airplane, Chance gave a brief motion and his men parted that he might go down the aisle first. The good-natured demeanor seemed to fall off of him like water off a duck as a more serious, confident air rose up around him. Shoulders back and head up in an almost militaristic fashion and he began the steady stride down to the open door. His looming figure appeared in the portal just in time to block the entrance of some port officials, his right arm extending rigidily and stiff-arming them down out of the way.
Ducking slightly to exit the aero and bring him down to the odd angle of the steps; when he fully appeared he looked like a conquering hero. Glasses were eased from his pocket and placed over his closed eyes, never giving the foreign onlookers a chance to see then. "Ladies and gentlemen.. Greetings from Thesaurum Oppidum!" Booming voice filled the emmaculate hangar space, echoing slightly as he extended his arms out - herding those nearby away from the aircraft and the cars waiting for him. "I know there's alot on the agenda, but I have much to do."
The only thing he had in mind was a hot shower and a change of clothes, but it mattered little what he said since he was an over-glorified distraction for his entourage. Filing out of the aero like so many black ants with cases in hand they began filling the vehicles with things from the plane. The attendants in the hangar didn't know what to think; Chance was empeding their duty but no one dared to chime in about it to the faction leader. "This is a beautiful city you have here, and you should all be proud for making it so." Of course he was talking out his a**, but the few words had given enough time to load the remaining baggage and the cars were made ready. Chance backed away from the crowd who inched forward at his regression, stopping just beyond the open vehicle door. "Come now, Aiden. Time to go." He spoke like a parent to a child in that moment of immense tension before slipping quickly into the back seat and waited for the instant Aiden got in.
( No, no. I think it's back. xD )
The trip to Lucidus Magus was a memory Layla wouldn't soon forget. The rising of the ship to the skies, the clouds, the fresh, cool air as they went higher, and then their awaited arrival to the floating city. It was like being a fantasy book—none of it felt like it was really happening. She had never thought people could live this high in the heavens, let alone build a home with others for centuries. When their ship berthed, the young girl couldn't wait to leave and walk about. It did take her a moment for her body to get used to the different air, though; she had a moment where she felt a little lightheaded, but it passed.
It seemed like that moment only happened moments ago as she sat in one of the plush sitting chairs in the hotel library. Aureus Laus was humongous, like a castle to Layla. She was asked not to stray too far, or leave in general. Good thing the library was just down the hall from the suite she shared with Vossler. It was practically a small house—she even had her own room. She'd never gotten used to the luxurious nature of her new life, and some part of her felt like there wasn't any reason to.
The spot where the chair was perfect, hidden away behind a few towering shelves. It was just one more dream among the many in Lucidus Magus. Layla found a book on the history and practices of the healers. It was very fascinating, and she found herself making comparisons between the book and her mother's journal, along with what little magic she knew herself. Her heart fluttered with excitement at the thought that she may very well be able to find some place, some potential, among these healers and their ways. It was just a matter of getting to them, and soon.
"Actually, I think they usually chop up the fish up so they'll fit in all nice." She said examining Chance's maneuvering into a comfortable position.
This was not the first time Aiden had wondered if she'd reached a new level with Chance in which her humor could somehow be appropriate. She'd been comfortable enough, not giving a facade apart of the mood of silliness she'd been in all day that had been absent of her capability for professionalism, but refrained from her antics because after all, she'd spent the day with Chance Godfrey, the gangster who she'd only heard rumors about for months beforehand.
So, although having manageably not delivered even one of her lines, Aiden found the task harder upon seeing the faction leader literally squished. More patience for now she supposed.
She changed the subject: "Super luxury is right. Massages, pools… and I'll be looking out for you, so some babes in the pools...fancy drinks. Oh man, fancy drinks. There are things I will do for a mojito right now. Crazy things."
(Sorry I haven't been the best poster lately. I just got over the flu and now I have a cold, but that's whatever. I've been mostly doing work and shizz.)
