Setting:  The brown and pink vixen gave a sigh as she padded down the wooden pathway. She was far from home and everything she knew. The would felt a little worn below her paws and behind her in the distance her ear's picked up the sounds of other peoples merriness. Normally she would be happy as well but not lately. Her chest hurt and things were missing. That was why she was so far from home she was searching and hoping to find the missing something but she didn't think it was going to happen.

Nerida had spent her morning seashell hunting on the beach. It wasn't a task she normally partook in, but a recent guest had pointed out her lack of such classic ocean details. Now, with her bounty safely tucked in a pouch around her neck, she made her way down the boardwalk back toward her part of the beach.
It wasn't long before she came across another female aquatic fox but the mood the stranger was casting made Nerida paused. Her motherly instinct took over and she called out to the other. "Excuse me.. Are you alright?" She was not sure if the other would bother to stop to talk to her, but Nerida knew she had to try.

Coloratura was pulled out of her thoughts by a kind voice. Glancing up she noticed another like her self but white and brown. Colora's face didn't hold a lot of happiness. She paused and sort of did a foot shuffle as she thought how to answer the seemingly nice stranger's question. Finally she shook her head no and cleared her throat, "Um.. physically yes but otherwise no."

Nerida's brow furrowed. She knew it. The other was upset about something. Now whether this fox would be willing to talk to Nerida about it or not, she could not be sure.
"I can tell," Nerida said her expression showing concern. "Tell me, if you wish, what is your name and... why are you so troubled?" She smiled encouragement before speaking again. "In case it'll make you feel more at ease, my name is Nerida and I mean you no harm. You are free to carry on your way, but I am an ear willing to listen."

Colora's gaze had dropped back at the ground. She figured other's could tell that she wasn't happy but thinking it and having it confirmed were to different things and it made Colora feel like she was being a downer and it was affecting others.
She gives a small half hearted smile which was all she could seem to muster up at that point but it was better than nothing. "Nerida who means me no harm you have a lovely name. I'm Coloratura Tune and matters of the heart have me troubled....well more like a certain male noodle."She said with a sigh.

Nerida watched the other, her concern growing more and more. What had this other female so troubled? Nerida wished she could wrap this stranger in a warm embrace. She thought better of it, though. Her friend, Taimi, may welcome such obvious affection, but not everyone does.
The smile the other one offered did not reach her eyes. Nerida smiled softly at the compliment on her name and nodded in greeting once she learned her stranger's name. "The heart is often the cause of great pain," Nerida said with a sigh. "Did this male break your heart? Please tell me he did not physically harm you."

"Yes the heart does cause great pain. Some say it is worth it and other not. I for one am not sure," She said with a sigh. "Yes he did break my heart though I am not sure if it was intentional or not or if he had meant to or if he is in some kind of trouble... I just simply do not know. Though he has never physically harmed me."

Nerida nodded solemnly as Coloratura spoke. She absorbed all that the other said and meditated on it. Nerida found it an odd thing that the other's heart was broken possibly without the originator's knowledge. She hated the thought that Coloratura's suffering was in vain. Then again, it was horrid that the female had to suffer at all.
"What did he do that broke your heart?" Nerida asked, her brow furrowed in confusion. "How could he not know what was going to happen from his words or actions?" Nerida did not bother to think about the rest of Coloratura's words. "It's good that he didn't cause you physical damage, though I do realize that's a small thought with your heart currently in pieces."

"What was is that he left. But I was used to him leaving and coming back because he is a scholar and was trying to get his work about the stars published. So I knew there would be a lot of travel for him to talk to others about publishing his work and than areas he had to visit to expand his research," sighs and nods. " He was so sweet and could never physically harm me but on his last outing he never came back. Normally he would inform me if it was going to take longer than the usually time but this last trip he didn't so I had expected to be back in three to four days weather permitting of course.... but he wasn't back....hasn't been back since." Colora's eyes filled with tears at the thought of it.
