Risheera's wounds were healing nicely and it was time to do some hunting to actually pull her weight around Aman'thul. Just the thought of the male's name caused the lioness' lips to raise in a snarl. She had spent more time with him then she had originally intended but could not bring herself to leave just yet. This caused quite a lot conflict in the lioness' mind, which probably wasn't a good thing considering she was herd of kudu, greater kudu by the look of them. She didn't much care but her belly was aching, empty, having been eating little of the last week or so. With her bod low to the ground, the huntress crept closer, allowing the golden grass around her to act as camouflage, hoping the herd would not spot her.

How unlucky for Risheera that another predator was eyeing the same herd. Much more confident in her abilities, Heidrun was staying downwind, her body also low to the ground as crouched, waiting for the opportune moment. She had two mouths to feed, not just her own now that Bjorg was with her. She needed this hunt to be a success or else the two might go hungry another day which was something the female hyena was not looking forward to as a possibility. There, in the grass on the opposite side from Risheera, she waited, glancing around to try and spot the much lighter male she was traveling with.

Aman'thul had been glad to see Risheera's wounds healing so well. Now, with her body strong enough to move around steadily she had insisted on going out to hunt. He supposed she didn't like being cared for so much, though for what exact reasons he was not sure. Did she still not trust him, or was it something else? Aman was not sure, but he left the issue alone. As long as she was healing and well that was enough for him.

The brown male lay some distance from Risheera, his side resting against a rock as he lazily watched the kudu over the grasses. He had no intention of stepping in on her hunt, but nor was he going to stay back by the tree incase something happened. She was healing well, but that did not mean she was yet strong enough should something go wrong.

Bjorg's confidence had risen somewhat since his meeting Heidrun. Though perhaps it was more the thought that he was less likely to go hungry or be killed with her around than him having any faith in his own skills. It didn't quite matter to him. He wasn't the bravest guy, or the strongest, but he was at least content with being just that. Plus Heidrun didn't seem to mind all that much. The pale male raised his head slightly, blue eyes seeking out his female companion. Like her he stood downwind, mostly because she had told him to do so. After a few looks over the grasses he finally spotted her, a brown spot nearly hidden within the gold grasses.

The ache in her belly had grown too large and soon it spurred her to start. The hunt was on.

In the moments prior, Risheera's muscles has tensed, rippled under her gleaming golden coat. With her new found energy, finally she had the strength to care for her pelt properly again. Legs thundering under her, the lioness charged at the herd, teeth bared and claws unsheathed to help grapple at the ground, allowing easier turning as she honed in on a elderly bull that was falling behind in the herd. Ah the feel of the wind blowing against her face and running over her fur again. It was something she had definitely missed during her down time, but she should miss it no longer!

The female hyena's ears went back, her nostrils flaring as she looked frantically in the herd for what she thought had been Bjorg running off ahead of her. No one. She spotted no one. Risheera could thank the fact she was on the outer rim and obscured by the fleeing and panicking kudu. A low growl left Heidrun's mouth as she too finally began to make chase. A young fawn had fallen not once but twice during the run and it's mother was trying desperately to keep her baby close by. It would be the perfect kill so long as she could actually catch it without destroying her energy reserve in the process.

A smile fell upon Aman'thul's face as he watched. He could barely see her within the golden grasses, but from what he could tell she was doing well enough. The lioness crossed the distance between her and the herd quickly, and the large male stood to get a better view. Now he could see the one she was after. A bull kudu. Looked a bit older, considering it was not as quick as the rest. Silently he cheered her on, waiting for her to actually bring it down before he planned to go down to applaud her kill.

Bjorg waited silently, pelt twitching in anticipation. He didn't like this waiting part of the hunt, but if he ran out too quickly than Heidrun wouldn't be happy with him. Blue yes continued to dart between the herd and where he had seen Heidrun hiding. Waiting. More waiting. Suddenly he saw the herd moving. Confusion rushed over the male as his gaze scanned the grassed for the female. Had she gone and he not noticed? No, there she was. The kudu were already running and he spotted her running out through the grass straight for a young one. Fearing he was too late to help Bjorg sprung forward, his sights set on the same little kudu. If nothing else then he would help her catch it by scaring it back her way.

The hunt would have gone perfectly. She had been only a few lengths away from her catch when she finally realized that the herd had split during the mayhem. The realization came too late as the other half came in front of her, cutting her off from the part she cared. Risheera skidded to a halt, sliding along the ground for several feet as she tried not to get trampled by the stampeding herd. Obviously confused, the lioness glanced around, displeasure written all over her face as she tried to find the cause of the split. She somewhat knew what she was looking for at least. There was someone else hunting her herd.

Risheera's search did not take long. While she had more time to come to a complete stop to allow the herd to pass, Heidrun was not so lucky. She was still hot in pursuit of her prized calf kill to feed not only herself but Bjorg as well. With the herd split, she could only assume that her male counterpart was responsible for it. At least, until she found herself frantically trying to stop. There was a lion in her path! No such luck and without so much as being able to warn the feline the two collided.

Aman'thul watched as the herd started to split apart. His brow furrowed with confusion as he tried to figure out what would cause it. It wasn't usual for a herd to separate for no reason, so the cause was there somewhere. There it was. The male started to move forward at the sight. Hyenas. They weren't the only ones hunting this herd. Risheera disappeared in the fleeing herd and his pace quickened, worried that she may either be harmed by the terrified kudu, or the hyenas.

The hunt got him excited. He wasn't good at it, but chasing down a meal was such a thrill! A bounce entered his pace as he tried to see over the grasses and through the fearful kudu running about for Heidrun. The herd split and Bjorg slowed only momentarily in his chase. Luckily his late start allowed him much easier time coming to a stop. Bjorg skidded to a halt, body growing ever closer to the ground as he slip to a stop behind Heidrun, and the lioness. The male's tail disappeared between his legs as he tried to disappear into the grass. "Heidrun, are you alright?" The male asked, his voice a harsh whisper. Worry for the female was the only thing that spurred the male to speak, otherwise he disliked the idea of possibly bringing the lioness' attention towards him.

The mess of lioness and hyena only lasted seconds as they tore off of each other. Teeth bared on both sides, the two females stood off against one another with only a few feet separating them. Tails raised, the two were obviously not happy about the current situation.

"You ruined my hunt!" Risheera growled, claws digging into the ground as she stared at the mutt across from her. There was no food in her belly, her wounds ached now and she had this stupid hyena to thank for it. "What the hell were you doing hunting my herd anyways?!"

Nostrils flared as Heidrun's eyes twitched at the lioness' question. Snarling she snapped her jaws in Risheera's direction before replying, "Your herd? Excuuuse me but I didn't see a brand on any of those beasts. We have as much right to hunt that herd as you do, you b***h."

"Watch your mouth, mongrel or I might tear your tongue out." Risheera snapped, eyes narrowed as her burning anger continued to rise.

"Bring it on. I'm sure I could outrun and out-maneuver someone as large as you any day. I mean, you were falling behind on your hunt anyways. You probably wouldn't have been able to get your kill anyways." Heidrun taunted, a wicked grin on her muzzle as her raised tail swayed gently in the breeze.

Aman'thul's pace had quickened, and soon the herd was gone and Risheera was back in view. However the lioness was not alone. A brown hyena stood across from her, with a paler one coming up slowly behind. The male was just close enough to catch the start of their shouting match. Risheera was really in no condition for a fight, and if possible Aman wished to avoid one. The male lion quickly stepped forward, placing himself partially between the two. "Now, there is no need for this hostility." While he had not exactly seen what happened their words had at least filled him in somewhat. Aman'thul looked from one female to the other before continuing. "A fight will only waste precious energy that could be better used elsewhere. There are plenty of prey beasts around still, that was not the only herd."

Bjorg's words were quickly drowned out between the two female's own heated words. He inched slowly closer, body lowered as he kept his gaze upon the female lion. The prospect of a fight was not one that appealed to him, and while he thought Heidrun could hold her own he did not feel the same for himself. Even if it were two against one, he was not much of a fighter. Things just seemed to get worse as a large male came hurrying their way. Bjorg lowered further, trying again to disappear into the grass. "This isn't good." He spoke, mostly to himself as the females seemed far too distracted with each other to pay him any mind. However this lion seemed to wish to avoid a fight as well, though likely not for the same reasons as Bjorg did.

Of course Heidrun's first thought was that she would teach this b***h a lesson she soon wouldn't forget for messing up her hunt. Well that was until another lion came jogging over. A rather...large, male lion at that. Quickly she glanced behind herself, her eyes searching for her companion only to see him slinking away. Gritting her teeth, Heidrun cursed under her breath as she turned to look back at the two felines. "Pft...fine."

"Fine? No, it's not fine." Risheera quickly snapped, her head turning to look at Aman'thul, a frown on her face. "She messed up our, rather my hunt and she needs to pay for it."

"And how to do you propose I do that?" The hyena asked, biting back a growl that was threatening to break loose.

"By traveling with us and helping us hunt. I'm in no condition to hunt myself, this was only a test run and you ruined it. You on the otherhand are fit and ready to go. You'll be able to hunt for us all with ease."

While the situation still seemed a bit volatile it was at least better than it had been before Aman'thul had shown up. Risheera's solution caused him to quirk a brow. "Well, I suppose that isn't a bad idea until you are fully recovered." Aman had not quite expected that, but it could have been worse. The hyenas would stay with them until Risheera was better then they could all be on their way. At least that is how Aman saw it. The large male took a step back, removing himself from between them and smiled.

"I am Aman'thul." He introduced himself to the pair of hyenas, before his attention turned over to Risheera. "I spotted another small herd a bit to the west. They may have moved a bit, but they should still be close enough to get a meal in before the sun goes down."

Bjorg raised himself only slightly when Heidrun looked back at him. He would certainly be at her side should a fight occur, but was glad when the male's intervening avoided such a situation happening. "Traveling with you?" He spoke softly, looking pleadingly towards Heidrun. Surely she wouldn't accept such a thing.

Heidrun didn't like this, not one bit. The coy smile on the striped lioness' face was unsettling but what could she really do? There's no hope in fighting them and she didn't know them well enough to know that this Aman'thul wouldn't just snap and help the other one attack them. Glancing back at Bjorg, giving the male a small reassuring smile before turning to look back at the two felines. "Fine." She finally said though it was obvious she wasn't happy about it. "I'm Heidrun and the wimpy one back there is Bjorg."

"Excellent. Maybe a little rest before we go out to try again at a hunt wouldn't hurt." Risheera glanced back to Aman'thul, "Would you care to lead the way back to our small camp? Some water along with that rest is definitely in order." While she wasn't completely over the botched hunt, she would push that aside...for now.

Aman'thul nodded towards the pair before looking to Risheera. "Water and rest sound good to me." Aman'thul looked over the hyena pair for a moment before turning, his course set towards the watering hole not far off from their camp. It wasn't exactly the closest water source, but it was smaller and saw less traffic, which seemed preferable.

The nod made him feel slightly better, though it was certainly not the answer he was hoping for. Then again had she said no there may have been a fight after all. Bjorg tried to swallow his cowardice, which seemed to stick in his throat as he stood to follow Heidrun. If nothing else then he planned to stay close to the female hyena, he certainly had no chance against any lion by himself.
