A new place meant finding new locations to hide. From everyone. Thought it seemed such a task would be somewhat difficult. Molan hadn't realized the school was quite as popular as it was. You'd have thought with how difficult it was to get in he'd have realized, but he didn't pay too much attention. Even locating his brother to tell him he would be around was a task. So finding a place no one went to? That seemed... near impossible.
And yet that was the task of the day.
Before he became too busy with classes and what not he needed to find a nice place no one would look for him. To get things done, or just rest. After all, he wasn't the least bit used to this many people. A few caretakers to keep the house clean, his brother, mother, and father. That was it. Now... there was a boil or a ghoul every way he looked. It was a bit of a shock. Not that he shouldn't have expected it, but it was already a bit tiring. He wasn't angry, just... kind of worn out. How many fake smiles did one have to put on in a day?
Because that was how you dealt with people right? Give them something of a smile, a wave, and walk away? ...nope. That wasn't going to last long. He sighed as he pushed along past a tree, having wandered past the monsters dorm in the process. Maybe that was his mistake, wasn't the monster population the highest? Perhaps if he stuck closer to his own dorms it would have been for the better. Alas, too late. There was a nice wooded area though, supposedly permissible for anyone to wander, so he figured a walk would do him good.
At least until he found a nice clearing to try dozing in. Because even as peaceful as his dorm room was, it wasn't home. It was nice, quiet, and in a pleasant area. But it certainly wasn't home and... he kind of missed the familiarity. So nothing would be quite as 'homey' as a nap on a hill in the hazy winter sun right? He could enjoy a nice cool breeze and the serenity of it all. He just had to find it first.
And he did find a spot after a bit of wandering, sort of. Not one he could get. A small bit of excitement had run through him as he spotted the vague hints of sunlight escaping between trees for the spot, and dropped sharply as the fact there was another figure already smack dab in the middle of it came to his attention. So there he got to stand, feeling a bit stupid starring at something akin to a tiger napping among the rather comfy looking mishmash of grass and pale winter sun.
Well this definitely wasn't the spot, not the question was... could he sneak away before they noticed?

Willow had taken up napping where ever though most of the time, she like some other students enjoyed their solitude. Her tail flickered softly as she stretched out on her back paws up in the air.
Her ears twitched as she heard something jingle. They were trying to perk up as the noise continued to get closer - closer - the Byakko opened one eye and looked towards the source of the noise.
Hmmm it seemed like he was trying to find some place quite, she knew those feels. "The spots big enough for two of us." She said eventually before even moving where it was noticeable that she was awake. "I don't bite."
With that she rolled over so that the orange on her back was now being sunned, tail twitching in content.

A quiet assassin, he was not. Obviously.
She'd spoken up just as he moved to take a step back, freezing him in place as he tried to comprehend the statement. Share a spot? He'd never really needed to share... his spots. Not that he was entirely opposed, it was just a foreign concept. No one lived close to home. He flicked his tail slightly, obviously thinking about the statement a bit as he watched the the creature roll over.
Didn't bite? Then did other students normally do so? That, was a curious thing in itself, one he'd have to take note of and study. Was it normal then, for all of them to do so? Perhaps just not within his own household? But now that he thought about it, had he seen such since he arrived..? He cocked his head to one side, slowly taking a step forward while watching the ghoul cautiously as he did. Just, on the off chance, she'd been fibbing. He could always work to vanish into the forest if need be.
Though at least it did seem that the clearing was large enough for two, even if he wasn't so sure about napping near a stranger. He felt a bit too exposed at the thought of it. After all, he wasn't a light sleeper, and... in truth it took a good all yelling in his ear to wake him up sometimes. He didn't want to find out someone had drawn on his face before his first week of school. Right, that would be an accomplishment.
"I suppose." Was finally the slow coming reply to her words as he shifted to another spot in the open to take a seat, peering up at the faint lights coming down before once more watching the fellow student from the corner of his eyes. This, was something new after all. He hadn't really had much of a chance to talk to any of the students in passing. Not that he'd tried, but most seemed busy enough.

Willow's head tilted mimicking that of Molan's. She stood up to stretch for a second, first one back leg then the other before circling and curling up again. "I'm guessing that wasn't a very funny joke then?" He'd seemed not to understand that.
Oh well, he'd learn.
Her tail twitching, "New here?" She added in question settling her head where she could still watch him. Looking him over, her ears perked again as she shifted finding she was having a bit of difficulty getting comfortable again. Always happened though, "Oh by the way, my name's Willow."
She nodded in a very matter of fact manner. She paused oh wait, she probably couldn't properly shake hands in this form. She sighed and shifted back to her student form. "Paws are so hard to shake with." She added with a small pout, she was sitting now.

Her comment seemed to clear up a few things, but then he only felt a bit foolish for not understanding it was a joke. Tsk, his brother would have picked up on that. Perhaps he'd... ask for a bit of clarification on some jokes to look for. That might help, at least to avoid awkward situations. That might work out.
And she was right, he'd learn one way or another. People had a way of pounding things into each the heads of one another. Not that he knew yet.
He merely gave her a bit of a nod to the next question as his ears perked to attention at her speaking again, blinking a bit curiously at her as she spoke her name. Right, Willow, that could be added to the rather empty directory of names he had, but always a good thing. It saved time asking. Even if he wasn't much for the basic formalities is was bound to be necessary. He offered a practiced, polite smile as he replied shortly after, though far from as talkative as the ghoul. "Molan. A pleasure miss."
He paused and glanced off as she shifted back at that point, thinking it might be rude to watch. Then again, was it? Well it was usually considered rude to stare so, just assume as much. As she spoke up again he looked back over a small more genuine smile escaping him at the comment as he replied. "Ah.. quite true." While it was difficult, he did recall several conversations about training a 'dog' to shake hands as his brother had commented on his own natural form. And the fact that his 'stubborn' older brother was impossible to train when he had attempted to 'teach' him basic tricks. A bit degrading, but still somewhat amusing really.

"Nice to meet you too Molan." She smiled when he introduced himself. She leaned back on her arms as she looked into the woods.
Willow's tail twitched as she was looking at Molan's hair. "Are those bells?" Her head tilted, she'd been trying to figure out where the jingling noise had been coming from and she was trying not to invade his space by being curious and poking at them.
But it was really tempting... "So you liking the school so far?" Willow tilted her head as she asked, wondering if Molan had ran into anything yet as far as weird encounters. Like the school seemed to always have.

Excellent, basic formalities were done, that meant... he was lost. He usually ended most conversations at hello, how do you do, something about the weather and event happy chatter time was done. Which he was winging it again. Good, this always ended so well. Well she seemed friendly enough, she could do the talking, if she wasn't asking questions.
At least it was an easy enough question. Oh he could, talk he really could, but he didn't know her. So as soon as he'd opened his mouth to reply he shut it again, obviously thinking again at it. His brother never minded, nor did anyone else he knew, and she had asked, but... that seemed odd? Well, at least... something. "Yes, I always have a few." There we go, an understatement of the year. Currently there were two tied in on each of the long chunks on the side, one at each ear, a few carefully masked into his clothing, and one around his tail. A few was an understatement. But that was honestly normal for him, so maybe it was a few. One would have been such a shame.
...now that he thought about it he'd forgotten the one on his braid. Tsk. He'd get one later for that.
And then a harder question. Did he like the school? He starred rather clueless at that one, tilting his head which issued another soft jingle as he contemplated it, not really watching anything. Honestly, he wasn't sure. He hadn't done much or met anyone really. "Too soon." He'd get a proper opinion soon really, he didn't know enough to really care either way. Aside from the fact it was, bustling. With life and activity. Wait, was life the word? There were a lot of dead things. He'd go with activity on that one. A small nod externally as he mentally agreed with himself, likely looking a bit odd. "It's different." He was getting good at these understatements.
Though now he was a bit curious, she seemed to know the place a bit, rather relaxed about it? How long had she been here, would he end up just as used to it with time? He peered at the ghoul a moment or two, obviously wondering if he'd be able to pick up the details by watching before realizing that just wasn't going to happen. Fine, he'd just have to ask like a normal boil. "How long have you been going here?"

She wasn't staring at him, no just his bells. She grinned as he answered, "Oh, well they're very nice." She said ear twitching when they made more noise. The one on his tail was really tempting to bat at. Shame it was out of her current reach....
She chuckled, "Ahh well you'll find out soon enough, hopefully you'll enjoy it; it grows on you." She added with a nod. She stretched, a bit trying to access if she could get to the bell on his tail without him noticing. Unfortunate, thing about noise makers, she always wanted to play with them.
At least this wasn't a class, "I'm a year two student, working on year three." She answered with a smile, "First in my family to come here." She added, puffing out her chest a bit proudly. She stretched a bit before laying down on the ground.

He hadn't really noticed the stare too much, caught up a bit in his own thoughts, and trying to make the conversation seem normal. Yes, normal for them anyway. Proud family don't tarnish the name. Some lovely, convoluted nonsensical jazz like that. His father had attempted to get it through both boy's heads. It had really only made it into his. Still stuck well enough. He had to not be a complete and utter social failure.
Even if he had no point to begin. Though he did brighten at the comment, beaming a bit at someone else liking them. See, they weren't silly little baubles that he obsessed over as Etzer sometimes said. They were very nice shiny little baubles that he obsessed over. Much better. At least THIS girl understood that. "Mmhmm, well this one is-" He paused as he'd lifted his tail a bit, intending to tell her about the whole backstory of each and realizing he'd nearly gone off. Right, reserved for other people. Nope, he'd just. His tail flopped back into place again with it's usual jangle, flicking idly at that.
Which probably didn't help with her desire to attack or pounce the bell. He hadn't been around enough cats to really grasp that this, might have been a minor form of torture to some. Seeing as he was sort of 'covered' in toys. He listened as she spoke, seeming rather pleased with the fact she was the first. So it being a family tradition was... good? I mean they all came here. "I.. see. That is why you are so calm." He added, starring at her a moment and nodding a bit. "It's tradition for us." Afterall, who in his family in how many years hadn't gone to Amityville? Rather, the better question was, did anyone remember? Good question, he'd ask his father sometime. How long had they been doing this? Did they now just have an open door 'Oh good you have more' policy at this point? After all, his father seemed to have made it easy to get him in shortly after his brother when he'd agreed... almost too easily.

Willow's ears perked up as he started to explain. Then he stopped, her ears fell down and she looked a little confused. Though she supposed he had his reasons for not explaining it. "So they're all.... special?" she asked inching a little closer to look at the shiny baubles. Trying to get close enough to paw at it, slowly, slowly~.
She smiled, "Calm?" She asked, what did he define as calm?
She nodded, "Ahh, traditions. Something I know of too well, the Elders didn't really want me leaving but my parents insisted since I had the chance."
She shrugged, "Kinda hard for the Elders to keep everyone on a leash though when we live so spread out." Actually, Willow didn't even know if the Elders even knew she was gone. They'd probably had figured it out by now though since she'd been gone two years....

He gave her a slow nod at the question, ears perking a bit at her interest. Each one has a story, a bit of information, and ... actually he had named most of them. Sometimes it took a while. Really, most people who knew him knew not to ask about his collection. You were offering to give up the better part of a week. Not that Willow was aware of the rather dangerous ground she was treating on. He merely flicked his tail again, not really paying attention to the fact the golden thing was now closer to her reach.
He looked at her confused with her repeating his comment back as a question, not really sure how to explain it. At least not in many words, so he merely let it pass, listening to her next comment as well.
Ah, so she had an opposite situation of sorts? While his family strongly disapproved of him choosing to go for so long, her's had never wanted her to leave. Strange. Honestly it went against everything he'd heard growing up, she was a bit peculiar in that sense. "I see." He blinked, obviously paying close attention to her at that point. Which kind of made him wonder what she was leaning over to get, but first he wanted to know why. "Why would they want that?" Because the whole mentality behind it, everything, it seemed to foreign.
Honestly, that made it worth knowing.

Willow's tail twitched as she saw the shiny object come closer to her reach. Yet still too far to properly capture it. The jingling sound almost made her ears twitch forward as she looked up, nope she wasn't watching your shiny bell Molan, not at all.
She also wasn't that much closer either, nope nope, though in fact in a few more scoots the ghosty ghoul would probably be able to attack the bell properly. "Why?"
She paused looking up at Molan as if she'd been caught with her hand in the spookie jar for a moment, "OH, well they don't want the outside tainting us. They think it's better for things to stay as it is. They do everything by the old way. Homeschooling, my mother taught me for ages." She added with a small shrug, "You live in your own little territory and that's all you get. Well unless you're a male of the village. See females have a small area, and males have like...." she paused thinking, "...well about three or four. The stronger ones have more, weaker ones have less but I doubt any have less than two when they're of age. I have I have no idea how many half siblings because of this." She didn't bother to keep up.
"The Elders are also worried that we'll uh.... come back and want to ruin traditions." She shrugged, "Plus uh.... I think an unintended side effect of this is that I'm turning white much sooner than anyone else... actually to be honest I only know of one truly white Elder. So...." She shrugged. "I'm whiting prematurely according to tradition, they're not going to like that either."
Willow didn't seem particularly bothered by it, since by the time she finished talking she took a finger and poked at the bell on Molan's tail. Waiting for it to move again so she could bat at it. When did she get that close to his tail?

It probably didn't help that, why his expression was still, well trained, his tail did flick several times as she explained, gaze fixed upon her. All of it seemed strange really. Sure, he was used to the homeschooling, did that mean his father had kept them close to avoid the same issues? He'd always been led to believe it had to do with keeping somewhat 'vulnerable' young scarelings away from the wrong hands, but perhaps there was another side to it? Curious, curious indeed. In truth what she said had valid weight, logic, and sense to it. Even if he hadn't really considered it as proper reasoning before.
Though the very thought of multiple mates bothered him. For a race that was fairly stuck to the whole thought of 'soul mates' or sticking to a single person, having multiple somewhat left a bad taste. Part of it was the whole thought of giving of oneself. As a demon, if they truly trusted someone, that person would likely know their full name, which in itself was control to a degree. But as well, while his father didn't follow the same rule, it didn't follow exactly that of his kind. While it wasn't unheard of for a few to choose to change loves, it wasn't something they tended to give out easily either. Certainly it could happen, but they were a possessive group as a whole, wanting what they had to themselves and to share with no one. While his mother had compromised in regards to her father, it was far from the norm. Which... was why the very concept of not knowing ones full family or even... all of it just literally seemed to go over his head a bit. "What?" Oh he sounded brilliant now, but that was all that came to his head.
Not awe, but a bit of a repulsive taste was left in his mouth. Not for her, for such a terrible system. There was no love or properly cherishing of anything in that. Someone you chose or mated with should be a treasure akin to one's item. That was normal right. The whole coat changing color thing was lost, nope, he was stuck on that last point.
Then again, if he had paid attention he'd say it was best such traditions be lost. That was no way to do things. If there was no proper bond how could the children really understand the importance of other bonds and... oh he'd best just stop thinking about it. There had to be some more... logical reason for it. Yes, definitely.
And as the bell, the familiar little jingle as she tapped it didn't even rouse him much, no, he needed this explained. He had to understand the logical explanation for needing that many scarelings to a single person. In a large area. It wasn't as if they were being widely hunted, right?

"Yeah.... it's some weird family thing." Willow shrugged not really looking to shocked at the reaction. "Weird traditions and all that."
She was poking at the bell at Molan's tail, batting when it moved. "Doesn't mean I have to follow their ways. I mean I suppose if I go back I would have to put up with it, most of the males end up leaving anyways traveling, finding other territories if they fail to win one or more over from the dominate male."
It was just a bad system, that was all. "I suppose it's the whole Nature of the beast." There was a shoulder roll, as she continued to poke at the bell. "Sooo... what was this about the bell you started to say?" She was totally engrossed in the bell, yup, good thing this wasn't a class she wouldn't get any work done.

He merely stared at her at that, seeming to try and let it sink in. Although he issued no verbal response, the same expression of bewilderment was still on his face. Weird traditions indeed. They weren't smaller things to be preyed upon or anything, so he didn't see the cause for such a setup. Though perhaps... maybe long ago in some distant time. "Oh." He added after her second bit of explaining. Really, it was kind of sad. So they were treated more like a prize to be won than anything it seemed? That was a bit ridiculous. "It's better you came to school." At least that was his sentiment, perhaps it wasn't his place, but a society run by a rule like that seemed ill thought out.
He cocked his head to one side at the ghoul, finally noticing she was toing with the bell and flicking his tail away at her words, sort of catching it in his hands again, a bit protective. She still wanted to know about that? He glanced at it, musing over if it was appropriate before deciding on just a few basics. "It was from a family trip, it was hand-made up north."{/b] Best not to go over how they had names, and everything too.
Just how long had she been poking at his tail now? He really should learn to pay a bit more attention.
