Requies always enjoyed traveling at night, having the moonlight being his only light to guide him through the darkness. He encountered little soquili close to his homeland perhaps they dare not stray in because of his father? The young male could barely remember his childhood for he felt his aging came all too soon in a blink of an eye. He wandered through the forest close to his home pushing through the thickness of the thorns and dead trees brought on because of the cold winter. It did not bother him much the cold air, though he did find displeasure with the white stuff that sometimes fell from the sky.
He made it a habit to travel in the woods alone at night stalking around for a good scare if something came across. He feared little and even though he should fear the kalonas or skinwalkers he barely thought of them at all. Requies walked in a slow pace allowing the moonlight to guide his path through like so many nights in this dead dense lonely forest. He would make sure to head back before sunrise for he did not wish to worry his mother. Even now that he was an adult he still felt the need to keep close to his mom.
When he came upon his favorite spot which was a clearing with a small stream he stopped to take his fill of the cold water. He drew back quickly and shook his head causing his long hair to flail around him “Damn, that’s cold.”

I am walking through a forest. The trees grow strong and tall. I can see some sun through the leaves above. I face two paths. One is beautiful, and safe. I can see birds flitting through the trees and sunshine kissing their feathers. The other path is dark, and tainted with something uncomfortable. Nothing stirs. A voice tells me to go to the left and I know I must follow the dark stallion down the path. I step forward, trailing after him curiously. But the path begins to swallow me. It is getting darker. I want to turn back. We reach the end of the path, I see a pair of blue eyes and..."Damn that's cold."
Risti blinked at the stallion who stood at the edge of the stream in the clearing ahead of her. Her expression was most likely one of horror and surprise. It was not because he looked strange, not because she was afraid of him. It was because he looked familiar. He was the stallion who had led her down the path in her vision. She calmed herself quickly, however. Many others appeared in her visions, many of them led her down the dark path. This was nothing new.
What was new was the appearance of blue eyes in her vision at the end of the path. Upon examining the dark being before her, Risti could tell he did not have blue eyes. Looking around her, she could tell this was not the forest in her visions. The trees here were dead, and while they seemed lonely they did not seem malicious.
Wondering if the other had seen her, she came closer to the water that separated them and spoke, "I like it cold. Don't you?"

Requies was unaware of the quest to the woods. He was so surprised he almost lost his balance but he steadied himself quickly. He turned beside him and his glowing eyes met a pair of brown eyes a smirk crossed his lips “Then you must not be sensitive.”
The stallion pulled a little away from her and began to look her over. It’s been awhile since he stumbled upon anyone other than his family. She seemed normal however, cracks upon her body was something to draw his curiosity. Was she hurt? Was it some sort of birth defect? He had a birth defect, a pair of wings that would do him little for any sort of flying.
He was cursed just like his father unable to fly. Though he mostly looked like his mother since he was what he believed to be beautiful. Requies started to look around as if wondering if she came alone or had others with her “What brings you to such a dead place? My little fragile mare.” He grinned hoping to make her feel uncomfortable.

She couldn't help giggling a little under her breath at his reaction to her presence. She hadn't meant to startle him, in fact she was surprised that she had. Even despite the darknes her bright yellow pelt practically glowed in the dark. It wasn't hard to ignore or overlook her and she knew that. She could see his eyes upon the cracks in her body and she wrapped her tail around herself, feeling a little self conscious for a moment. But her mood changed as she eagerly took note of his large, bony wings. It was always interesting for her to meet someone else with odd features somewhat like her own. It made her feel less lonely. It made her feel like she was not a freak. She smiled at him and his wings and felt more at ease than she would have if he had had normal wings.
My fragile little mare? Oh, he wanted to play? She laughed smoothly, stroking his chin lightly with her tail and batting her eyelashes at him casually. "Oh me? I was just looking for a place to sleep for the night," she lied, faking innocence flawlessly, "how about you, handsome?" She took a few steps away, glancing at him over her shoulder before bending to take a drink of the icy water. He was right, it was extremely cold. She took slow drinks so as not to freeze her brain, keeping her eyes on him as she did so.

She was bold he thought to himself as she approached closer to him brushing her tail against his chin. He pulled a bit back and smirked “I see, you picked a rather interesting place for somewhere to sleep my dear.” What was she anyways? That tail of hers was nothing he’s seen before it looked feline but he was unsure. Requies noticed her look at his wings and he snorted “Useless right?” he told her simply.
He watched her taking sips from the cold stream. Shivers ran down his spine as if he could imagine the cold water upon his tongue. He did not care much for the cold or anything of the sort like that blasted white stuff that fell from the sky “So what are you exactly? That tail of yours and well to be honest your skin looks like it’s cracking, are you hurt?” he did not sound concerned just curious.

She straightened from drinking and looked down at herself with a smirk, masking the pain in her expression. What are you exactly? She wondered what it would feel like to truly be able to answer that question. She searched her mind for answers, but of course she knew no better than he did what exactly she was. "Well, I'm part unicorn..." she said, tilting her horn towards him gingerly, her tail flicking behind her. It was her usual answer, one she didn't like very much. She was far from any ordinary unicorn.
"I'm alright, it's...a curse," she said, cringing inwardly at the word. She hated not knowing why she was this way. The only explanation she had was the tunnel...She shook her head and looked up at him with the same curiosity he had shown for her. "What exactly are you?" she asked with a smile. What was anyone, really?

“Part unicorn?” he sounded interested, mostly because he never met a unicorn before, though his bloodline carried it. When she spoke of her curse he got even more curious of her since he’s never heard of such curses. He moved closer towards the yellowed mare and glancing about her body trying to understand the curse set upon her. It was quite fascinating!
He blinked “Me? Well I’m many things. Many dark things.” He smirked being vague as usual.
The stallion glanced around the forest before looking back at her “So fair maiden, what names were you given?” he asked with a fake gentleman accent.

Dark things. Yes, he certainly looked dark. But given the fact that he hadn't tried to attack her, she was pretty certain he wasn't as dangerous or as dark as he would have liked to appear. She smiled at him and giggled at his fake accent. "You can call me Ri," she said. She had another name of course. Her full name. But she didn't approve of using it with strangers who had not earned the right to speak all of its syllables. She smiled at him with a definitive stance should he decide to prod at her full name.
"How about you? Or should I just call you 'dark one'?" she asked jokingly and nudged him lightly.

“Ri? Cute sounds more like a nickname though.” He said to her while flicking his long mane over his shoulder.
Requies debated on giving his name. It really did not matter if she knew it since he did not have anything to hide and well if he was to gain enemies in the future that could be rather amusing to him. He however would never lead her towards his herd. For he cared about his family and wanted to protect his mother from the many dangers he faced “It’s Requies Aeterna. You can call me just Requies.”

She winced slightly at the word 'nickname.' It did sound like a nickname because it was one. But she barely knew him, so she did not admit the fact that he was correct. "Nice to meet you, Requies," she nodded in an almost bow. It had seemed he had been hesitant to give his name as well. Perhaps he would somewhat understand her situation, but she didn't intend to tell him anyway.
"Are you out here all alone?" she asked, a little curious. She wondered if he was hunting. He looked like the hunting type. She knew it wasn't an abnormal thing for a Soquili to do either. Many of her family had cravings for blood. She was thankful she didn't, but she didn't frown upon it like most would have. She only hoped that it he was hunting, he wasn't hunting her. Though he didn't seem to be harmful to her, she would make perfect prey.
She reminded herself once more to be more careful when traveling and meeting others. She couldn't help it, her grandmother's Roma genes made her eager to meet new faces. She looked at his now, drinking in every detail. Even if they had a simple conversation and went their separate ways, she was glad to have met someone.

“Hunting?” he paused for a minute to think about it. He was not really hunting per say, just looking for someone to mess around with since he was bored. Requies grinned big from ear to ear shaking his head lightly “I would not call it hunting. Just walking the grounds near my—“
Requies blinked his bright eyes freezing in place. He almost gave away that his home was nearby. He had to be careful if he wanted to protect his mother “Never mind, it’s nothing. What brings you here though? I doubt it’s any safe to be alone.” He told her with half concern as he glanced around the area.
He couldn't hear anything nearby or smell anything to cause a threat. He looked back at her and was curious if he should pull a prank on her? Maybe creep her out? For some reason at this moment he felt like that would be too immature for him.

She blinked at his sudden change of sentence. Near his what? This stallion was interesting. His dismissal of the subject only made her more curious, and she wished he had been careless enough to give away his secret. But she didn't ask him to continue what he had been saying, that would have been rude. So she smiled as if it hadn't happened.
"I'm...trying to find some answers," she answered truthfully. She was far from home, but it wasn't for no reason. She was looking for family, searching for clues about the twisted tunnel and more than anything finding herself. But she didn't care to explain all of that to him, she was sure he would be bored with it.
"Why? Are you worried about me?" she joked, winking at him and giggling. Perhaps he had reason to be. She glanced around as well, then back at him with a smile. "Besides, I'm not alone, you're here." She laughed at that. She barely knew this stallion, he could be planning to dupe her for all she knew, but she was glad to have some company in this dark place.
