She felt restless trying to sleep that night. Tossing and turning more than usual. Once she'd woken, thinking there was (of all things) a monster what the hell?!... in her room. But then she realized it was her desk chair. And Fini had rolled over and curled up, attempting to fall back asleep.

"... -inity.

A pull. And a... voice? Was someone calling her?

"... Infinity!

She wasn't in her room. She stood in the square of some gaudy kingdom. It was... beautiful, she had to admit. But what was this place? Where was she? And then, like bad TV reception, it faded into nothing. Fini stepped forward, as if to try and grasp the image-

"Infinity!

Whirling around, Fini yelped and stumbled back. Oh s**t what was this?! That... she... what...

"You heard me.. " It - she - said with something like relief and... sadness. "I was afraid... that, well. You opened up. And I... won't be forgotten."

"What?" She said stupidly, still staring at this... mirror image of herself. Except wearing much nicer clothing than she would ever be caught dead in. And her scars... the mirror image had no scars!

"You are correct. I don't have everything you do. I am but a Fragment. Memories."

Ohgod this was a nightmare, wasn't it? And that monster in her room was going to rear its ugly head and swallow her whole! Bad dream. Bad dream! "But you are me?" She squeaked. "How... I don't... "

Her Fragment self just smiled that sad smile. "I am a Fragment, Infinity. It's... complicated. But I will do my best to explain it. There is much to tell you. So I'm... not forgotten."

For the next, god only knows how long, this... Fragment. Herself from another... place? Whatever she was, spoke in great lengths about a Golden Kingdom ruled by their Emperor. She spoke of how much pride the people had for their King and kingdom. Of the different lifestyle they had lived. Friends and foes. Six other kingdoms. Of a secret love. The Voice. And the war. The war they fought willingly to serve their King. To prove that he was clearly meant to be the True King.

Fini's a** promptly hit the ground as her mind was overloaded with the information. Gold King? Wars?! Secret love?! Ohgodohgodohgod.

"Are you... unhappy knowing these memories?" The Fragment asked softly.

It took Fini a long time to find the answer to that question. Mind going over and over the words the Fragment had said. Unable to grasp it all... yet believed it all at the same time. She didn't understand how it happened, or what this could mean. But... "No. I'm not. I am... glad to have your memories. Our memories. A little... scared, yes. But glad."

For the first time since seeing the Fragment, she smiled a bright smile, something that looked suspiciously like tears sliding down her face. Reaching out, the Fragment offered her a hand up. Fini accepted and got to her feet. The two stood face to face, like peering into a mirror. And then the Fragment threw her arms around Fini and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you, Infinity." She whispered.

And her goddamn phone went off, scaring the s**t out of her. Fini jumped, elbow hitting the wall, heart pounding. She looked all over, disoriented and confused... awe s**t! She was crying! Why was she crying? No... It hadn't been her originally crying... it had been. The memories. She hugged her pillow to her tightly, burying her face against it.

I will remember, I promise.
