"To The Moon": Single player, adventure, RPG, indie

"To The Moon" is a simple game that deals with a lot of complex issues and people. I downloaded it on Steam for just $4.99. This is the description given:

"Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning... but only in their patients' heads.

Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn’t.

This particular story follows their attempt to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny. With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is.

And Johnny's last wish is, of course... to go to the moon."

My take on it:
Just finished "To the Moon" the adventure RPG I started earlier today. It's an easy game to get through (Took me 3.7 hours according to Steam) and the game play is basic, but oh boy. That game is not basic. Looks are deceiving in this game. The main character, Johnny, is one of the most complex characters I've ever seen in a video game. Every character in the game has more to them than meets the eye, including the researchers and those you meet along the way.

The game in general gets at some pretty intense issues, but I can't describe them without giving away the best parts. The music is absolutely gorgeous as well (original soundtrack is available online) and the game does a great job at pulling you into it without needing high quality graphics or complex controls. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who loves a good story, complicated characters, and a mystery. Don't expect intense controls, but do expect an intense plot.

I can't wait for the next game to come out.
