Since she was young she had always been more of a cautious type. There were times when Ak-kila would do things out of her regular characteristics, but usually she was a careful young lioness. However since meeting Akin'Labi she had found herself becoming more and more the lioness she wanted to be. She had visions of her being brave once in a while, mostly when she was younger. However she had always felt these visions were leading her astray. Since she was little she had always wanted to marry a lion who was strong and protective, someone who could save her and be the hero.

However now she wasn't sure if that was really who she was. Her visions said one thing, her past another and her heart? She wasn't even sure what her heart wanted.

She had thrown all caution to the wind and decided to leave home for a little bit so she would have a chance to go on an adventure with a lion she had just met. While with him, she had a vision of Akin'Labi's father and siblings. After seeing it, she felt a closer bond to Akin and wished that he would see his father again.

Right now she was curled up in a small cave. The place they decided to rest. It was nothing like the temple, but it would do. As she laid there, her stomach let out a small growl. “Sorry. I guess after walking I'm a tad hungry.” She gave an apologetic smile. “Should I go catch us something?”

Ever since he was small, Akin'Labi had always loved adventure. Together he and his father had explored the world. They had seen many great and beautiful places and meet a never ending supply of unique individuals. 'Labi took insperation from his suroundings and weaved them into grand tales. Back then he had never been more happy to be on the road. But when his father had fallen prey to the ocean calling that ran in their blood, he had been devastated. Aureo was off to join the pirates, a place where a pacifist like him would not survive. 'Labi had wandered aimlessly, his muse and spirit dampened and almost extinguished.

But then he had meet Ak-Kila.

'Labi smiled as he remembered his first meeting with her. A bit of his flagging muse flared and for a moment he had felt like himself again. And as they continued their journey, these small moments grew in length and frequency. Kila was certainly a wonderful and bright lioness. The gods have truly blessed him to have their paths cross.

He blinked, snapping out of his wandering mind, when Kila asked him a question. He smiled at her "That is quite alright. We did travel quite a distance today! In fact we quite near a stunning waterfall that I had wished to show you! The best time to view it is at dawn though. The rays of the waking sun dancing among the water is a wondrous sight to behold!" He stood and walked towards the cave entrance. "You look entirely to comfy for me to have you move without an ill conscience. I will find us something to eat. I will be back soon!"

Ak-kila nodded her head. It was fascinating to listen to him talk. She was sure that she had never met anyone like him and would never meet anyone like him. At this moment she was sure that she could only handle one lion like him. He was definitely someone special, someone she wanted to spend time with before they had to depart ways. It felt like there was a knot in her throat. Eventually they would part ways, and this incredible lion would vanish from her life. There was a chance for them to meet again, but she knew that travelers seldom went to the same place more then once, at least the ones she met hardly did. She imagined him leaving now, going somewhere she couldn't follow. Her eyes got watery, but she quickly wiped them away.

“I would love to see the waterfall.” She said, giving him a beaming smile. Right now she wouldn't ruin any chance she had to spend time with him. Eventually she would get homesick and Labi would want to travel. She stood up. “I'm wasn't too terribly comfortable. Plus I think I would rather be in your company then be alone.” A small smile on her face. She stood closer to him then she usually did, though not close enough to touch. Just being near him put her mind at ease. “Perhaps there will be something interesting out while we hunt. There are odd things in the rogue lands.”

Labi looked out at the sun. It had begun it's decent in the sky. "We have actually made good time! We can hunt and rest up before setting out before dawn!" He smiled at her. "I truly hope you like it. My father and I found it while we were traveling. We ended up staying for a few days." 'Labi chuckled "I'm afraid my family has Sea-longing in our veins and water seems to call to us."

He nodded when Kila said she wished to join him. "I would be honored to have you as a hunting partner!" He bowed and gestured to the cave entrance "After you my fair Huntress of the Sands."

The mountain she was on towered over some of the others in the distance. She kept steady as she watched a small herb bellow. Then Seema noticed two figures a distance away. Her eyes narrowed as they walked. Right now she was hunting prey for a meal for her mate and her. She didn't want to have to fight over prey with these two lions, or worse having them scare away the prey she had her eyes on.

Gracefully yet quickly she made her way down the steep mountain, toward the two lions. When she was closer to them, she suddenly came to a stop and hid behind a boulder. It wasn't out of fear that she hid, at least not entirely. When she got a closer glance at the male lion she thought she had seen a ghost. She wasn't the type who believed in the supernatural, but even for a moment she allowed herself to believe that she saw a ghost. The ghost of her son that killed himself just to get away from her.

She pulled herself together. The lion just happened to look a little like Aureo, she reminded herself. It was just a coincidence. Once she felt herself feel more relaxed she came back in view of the two lions and walked toward them, her expression serious. The closer she got to them the more she could tell that it was obviously not Aureo. The markings the male had were similar enough, but he lacked the yellow that Aureo had. It was a relief, Seema thought. The thought of being haunted by her only son sent a shiver down her spine.

She wanted to ask if they were going to hunt, but she felt a lump in her throat. Not now, she thought. “You look so much like him, you even have his eyes.” She said, as she stopped a bit in front of him. She didn't mean to say it out loud, but she did. Her eyes concentrated on him, completely ignoring his female companion. Her brothers had died young and never had cubs. So this lion couldn't be related to her in any way. Unless Aureo some how...

No that was just wishful thinking. Aureo was dead and she needed to accept that.

“I'm sorry. I misspoke. I was hunting in this area and I was wondering if you would like to join me. I need to catch a meal for my mate and I and I thought perhaps we could work together to catch a bigger meal.” She said, her serious facial expression turning to a small smile. This wasn't right. She should have told them to find their own place to hunt, but she couldn't. Not to that lion at least.

“I'm sure I will love it.” She said with a laugh. “If you have sea in your veins then I must have sand. My family hasn't left the sand in generations.” She decided not to mention that her mother was the princess, as she didn't want to imply she was royalty. To her she was just another lioness out having an adventure.

She felt her ears go warm when he called her the huntress of the sands. It was a title she was getting used to. And whenever he called her that, she felt herself warm up. It was a wonderful feeling that she never wanted to end.

Before she could say anything more she saw someone come down from the mountain. “I wonder who that is?” She said softly, her eyes keeping track of them. The thought of someone climbing down it was crazy for her to even think about. However this lioness did it without any effort. Ak-kila wondered how they learned such a skill. It was then a surprise when the lioness ended up hiding behind a boulder. “I wonder if she is okay?” She glanced over at Akin'Labi, wondering what they should do.

However before she could do anything the lioness came out. She seemed to be okay, or at least Ak-kila thought so until the lioness spoke. In the desert it was common to find lions who traveled in the heat and became delirious. She wondered if that happened to this lioness. “Are you alright?” She spoke up.

When the lioness asked to join their hunt, Ak-kila looked at 'Labi. “What do you think? It's fine with me.”

'Labi followed her with a smile. "Well if you are the sand and I the sea, then I am grateful to the beach for allowing us to have a connection." He looked out over the landscape, eyes going a little distant. "I am truly lucky to have met you Ak-kila. I fear that if I had not, I would have kept wandering without thought or passion." He looked back at her, eyes and smile warm. "But now my spirits have been rekindled and I have you to thank for it."

It was at that time that both's eyes were attracted to the figure beginning to make their way towards them. Labi admired the skill of the other, climbing down rocks like that was hard. As they came closer he could see that it was a lioness, he was going to call out a greeting, but she hid behind a boulder. "I certainly hope so, maybe we should go check?" He answered to Kila's question. But before he could act, the lioness reappeared.

He would admit the sudden comment about his eyes threw him off. Albeit he was used to people comparing his eyes to his father's, but out of the blue like that? None-the-less, he still smiled at the Lioness in greeting.

"Oh it's quite alright, it's something I used to hear often." He listened to Kila's decision before speaking. "If the Lady is in agreeance, Then I offer no protest."

"Yes I am quite alright. Thank you for asking." Her ears perked up. His eyes were like his fathers? Was there any chance that Aureo could have been alive and had a son? “Have you ever met a lion named Aureo?” She finally said after allowing silence to fill the air. She stepped back and examined the lion. He could be related to them. The more she thought about it the more she was sure that this lion must be related to them.

If Aureo was alive, everything would change. The guilt she held in her heart would still be there, but it wouldn't weigh so heavy on her. She turned around and headed toward where the herd rested. “We should get going before it gets to late. We can continue to talk as we walk.” She said. “If that's fine with you that is. It is your hunting trip after all.”

The way he used his words was like how an artisan crafted their beads, she thought as she looked at him. She liked the idea of their friendship being the beach. It seemed perfect for them. “I'm sure that you would have gained the passion again. I can't imagine anything keeping you down.” She said with a thoughtful smile. “I'm glad I could help though. I think we both found each other at the right moment. I felt a little confused about who I am. Of course I still am a bit confused, but that can't be help. With time I am sure I'll figure it out.”

She looked at the lioness and wondered why she was acting so strange. The name Aureo was unfamiliar to her. “Yes we should get going.” She said agreeing. She stuck close to Akin'Labi as they walked, her eyes on the lioness. Right now she didn't fully trust the lioness. It was strange for her to just show up, and then she said the thing about Labi's eyes, which was odd. From the distance she could smell the herd. It made her mouth water. Soon she would fill her stomach.

“When we hunt I'll do my best to show you my skills I learned from my pride.” She said to 'Labi. “I'll show you what a real huntress of the dessert can do.”

"Mayhaps I would have some where along the line." His warm smile was all for her. "But I doubt it couldn't have been so pleasant nor would it have left me in such great company." Kila spoke of her trouble finding herself "I truly believe that you will find what makes you happy with yourself, and when you do you will outshine any star in the night sky."

Labi was following along with the ladies towards the herd when he surprised to hear Auero's name come up. He smiled widely at the lioness "Ahh, so you do know him?! I usually only heard comments about our eyes when we together. Pray tell, how do you know my father?"

They were getting closer to their hunt now and he began to notice how hungry he actually was. Their trek today really had been long. Kila's pledge made him grin. "I only wish to keep up and learn from your grace."

Seema stopped. How did she know his father. “So Aureo is alive,” she said, not answering his question. She then continued forward. A rush of joy spread in her. Her son, her baby was alive. Aureo was alive. And he had offspring. She glanced behind her. Timeus wouldn't know what to do. He would probably end up piss that Aureo disgraced the family by leaving, but Seema was grateful he was alive. “Tell me, is he happy?”

So many questions clouded her head as they reached the herd. Now wasn't the time to talk about it though. Once they caught their prey they would sit down and talk. She wanted to know everything about her son, what happened to him once he left her. Obviously he found a lovely lady and had cubs. She wondered what his son was doing away from him though. Her grandson, she thought with a smile. She was a grandmother. And it looked like she would be a great-grandmother soon judging by how close the lioness stuck to her grandson.

“By the way my name is Seema.” She said as she stopped. “Now follow my lead when we hunt alright? I think if we work together we will be able to catch our meal in no time.” It would be interesting to see how she handled hunting with someone other then Timeus. Together they worked like one. He was the only one she felt such a connection to.

“I hope so.” Ak-kila said.

Her attention went to the lioness. She tilted her head when they talked about the lion named Aureo, Akin'Labi's father. It was odd that the lioness knew about the father. The information made Ak-kila realize that she really didn't know much about 'Labi or his past. She wondered what else she didn't know. During their time together she hoped to learn more about him.

“It's nice to meet you Seema. My name is Ak-kila.” She said with a bow of her head. She wanted to show off her hunting skills, but it seemed that Seema wanted to lead the hunt. That was fine, Ak-kila thought. Even if she wasn't the lead huntress she could still show off her hunting skills. “Alright, you can be in charge.” she nodded her head.

Hopefully there would be another chance for her to show off for 'Labi.

"Is he happy?" 'Labi stopped and thought about that for a moment. "I know that ever since I can remember, Father always had a smile on his face. He was at his best when we came across another adventure. Though now he has been called to the sea, a call that I couldn't follow." He gave Seema a weak smile. "But some who I trust very much tells me that he is happy where he is now."

He blinked in shock when he realized that he had not introduced himself. "Where have my manners gone? Great tidings to you Seema, my name is Akin'Labi. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

With that Labi readied to join the two ladies to catch their meal.
