It was hot. Well, of course it was hot, it was a desert. Searing, dry, but at the same time the breezes were pleasant, rolling in from the seaside and making it somewhat bearable. Here, we find a cave blown out by the wind in a rocky duneside, and emerging from the mouth was a colorful acha buck.
Rush was humming a nameless tune, hopping onto rocks and inspecting different bugs and plants alike. This cave was his home, one he'd found by luck after a rampant storm. He nosed at a coconut that had fallen from one of the palms before going to take a drink of water.
He dipped his hooves into the cool, shallow depths with a small sigh of relief, taking in a deep breath of the bright, clear-skied afternoon.

The smell of the salt air always seemed to wake her up, no matter how late she'd stayed up the night before. It was cool and refreshing, and never smelled quite the same as the day before. Her long hair twined around her horns as she bounded through the dry desert grasses, leaping as high as she could to clear low bushes. Delighting in the attempt, even if she felt her hooves graze the tops. A short burst of song escaped her and was cut off as she heard another nearby. Slowing her pace, her curiosity piqued, Kneel circled the large dune. The tall blades of grass made a gentle rustle as she lightly stepped through them, not at all trying to hide her approach from the buck she discovered on it's far side. She admired his private oasis. The cool fresh water and shade from the tall dune made it a spot to be coveted.

His humming stopped as he perked his ears at the sound of song. The voice was beautiful, and his tail gave a curious swish...
He headed towards the shore, watching as a lovely doe slowly made her way through the sparse grasses, looking over his home. "Was that you singing that pretty song~?" He asked with a roguish smirk before dipping his head in greeting. "Welcome, lovely lady, to my humble abode." He announced, swiftly hopping onto a boulder, looking down at her.
"M'names Rush. You are?"

Kneel tilted her head coyly as she was welcomed so graciously. "It might have been. Was that you singing as well?" A brow arched over her red eyes. She dipped her head in return, her fan-brush tail flicking ever so slightly. She continued her approach, drawing closer to his boulder as she continued trailing her approving gaze over his land. "I never knew this place existed. You're quite lucky to have such a 'humble' abode, Rush." She smirked up at him, already amused by her bold new find. "Kneel."

"Pleasure's all mine, Kneel." He said with a cocky grin, hopping down to join her on the ground. "I couldn't really believe this place was empty, either. Doesn't even have any bats."
"Come on- I'll give you the grand tour." He offered. "Let's see...We got some water. Some rocks. Palms trees..." He paused, leaning down to balance a coconut on his nose, giving her a subtle brow waggle as he managed to lift his head without dropping it.
"Ever had one of these?"

"We'll see about that." She responded, stepping aside as he came down to her level. "No bats even?" There may have been a hint of sarcasm in her voice but the teasing smile on her face tempered it. She stepped alongside him as he offered the tour, laughing and attempting an appropriate 'ooo and ahh' over the spectacle. She hummed, impressed, as he carefully balanced the coconut. There was more than just talk to this young buck at least. "I don't think I have. Are you offering to share?" Whether she actually had or not didn't so much matter. His showing off had made it somewhat of a game in her eyes and Kneel was of a mind to play long.

Rush's grin broadened when she seemed interested in the coconut. "Watch this~" He tossed it into the air, swiftly turning and brining up his hind hooves, kicking the coconut and sending it flying hard against a rock where it cracked in half. Rush looked smug as he trotted over, nosing half of it towards her with a swish of his tail.
He looked genuinely excited to have company over, waiting for her to try it first before he had any of his. "What do you think?" He asked with a smile.

Kneel pranced backwards as Rush suddenly flew into action, the coconut in the air and smashing open before she realized what was happening. The surprising trick startled another laugh out of her. The smell of the spilled coconut water and the sight of it's white flesh excited her senses and she once again drew close to Rush, brushing up against him slightly as she bent to breath in the sweet scent. Her eyes cased up at him as she breathed out. "Impressive~ You have excellent aim." She took the hint that she should take the first bite graciously, bending once more to nibble a chunk from the piece he offered. The crisp meat of the coconut was a delicious treat, warm as it was, and she savored the taste. "Are you always so generous when a doe crosses your path?" A playful half-grin and an arched brow accompanied her question.
