He was starting to realize it now. His wings weren't really all that strange after all. In fact, there were horses out there that had appendages and mutations far worse than his. If you'd told Izefiah that when he was a foal, he never would have believed you. In fact, he would've thought you were mocking him. But since he'd left his father and begun travelling on his own, he'd come across many different types of horses and he was starting to believe that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as much of a freak as he'd grown up to believe.
Or maybe that there were lots of freaks like him. Either way, he was not alone.
He'd stopped being angry at his father a while ago now, and instead of travelling to get away from him, he was travelling to meet other interesting folks like himself. There were so many to meet, good and bad and everything in between. He wanted to meet them all.
So that's what he was doing, just travelling and seeing who he could meet. It was so good to know he would never have to be alone again.

It had been a while since Aquitaine had ventured away from her ocean side home. She had had her hooves full healing Agave and then slowly helping him adjust to his new life. There was still a lot of work ahead for them but she could see he was doing so much better now, and in fact he was even willing to let her travel unaccompanied again, something he had absolutely been against when he first came to her. Though she still greatly preferred to stick close to home Aquitaine had realized over her last few trips out that there were many out there who could use her help in various ways, and they could not receive that help if she was hidden away in her small home. And so she decided then to make regular trips out to see if she could find others who were like her, to speak with them and if they needed her advice then she would offer it to them.
Even her dragon was becoming more used to her interacting with others. It was clear he still did not like it when she spoke to others, but as long as they kept their distance he would generally remain quiet and allow her to do as she wished. And that was something Aquitaine was grateful for, because his acceptance of her mission meant that she could do so without having to fight him each and every time she left her home.
She had no real goal in mind today as she walked along a worn path. Aquitaine didn't expect to meet someone each time she left home, and even coming home without having met or helped anyone she still felt like she had accomplished something, for there was plenty of other things to see and do while she was out, such as gather herbs. Humming softly to herself Aquitaine moved along at an easy trot, her eyes taking in the area around her.
