Having travelled outside her herd territory to find a new bed of water Oota stood looking out at the vast sea. It was the biggest body of water she had ever seen, and she was going to swim in it! Regardless of what nature wanted for her, she had no interest in flying, the water was her challenge.

Lyria was swimming along yet another strech of the great sea. She wanted to see it all before she had to leave. She loved the water, a lot. She giggled as she swam closer to land, then she surfaced to see the surounding view above water. While she loved water, the land intrested her as well. She suddenly realized that there was someone close to her, another mare. She looked more like she would be more at home in the sky than anywhere else. "Hello there!" Lyria said brightly, her personality bubbling forth.

Physically jumping on the spot she brought her hoof up to her chest and then began to laugh out loud. The voice had caught her off guard, Oota had become mesmerized with how the water lapsed over itself to create waves. Her experience had mostly been in calm and still water... this should be fun! Looking around on the land she couldn't spot anyone, then bringing her gaze back to the water her eyes lit up as she began to move forward so the sea could take her hoofs. "Hey! Are you a water horse?!"

Lyria giggled again as she saw the horse startle. She wasn't making fun of it, things just made her giggle. "Sorry to startle you!" she said. As she watched the horse step into the sea, she moved further in as far as she dared. Getting stuck on land was one thing the Nova never forgot about when close to shore. "Yup!" Lyria said answering the mare's question. She lifted her fin and said, "I seem to be!" She lowered her fin and smiled brightly, "My name is Lyria!" she said giggling again, "What brings you here?", she said as she watched the horse curiously.

"Coooool! I've only ever met one other water horse before!" She giggled herself, for some reason this seemed odd, like there was only one water horse, her special water horse. Yet here another one was, the second in her entire life and she didn't hold back from trotting further into the water to get closer. The water was colder than she was used to and the current a lot stronger, raising her wings she used the breeze to keep her balanced. "I'm Oota, I was going to go for a swim, is the water always this cold?" She tilted her head in question at Lyria.

So the mare's name was Oota, "It is a pleasure to meet you Oota!!" Lyria had never seen a winged horse like this before. She tilted her head and looked at her. She was very pretty, and had horns she had never seen before. "Only one?" this confused her. She knew of winged horses, in fact she knew a lot of different horses. "I know many, and I also know many land dwelling horses, as well as one with wings. Your wings are very pretty, as well as your horns!" She watched as Oota went further into the water and became a little worried when the she began to wobble. "You should be careful of the water here, the currents are rather strong, and you could be swept away." she paused for a second and then smiled saying, "But I won't let anything happen!" she again pondered Oota's question and shrugged saying, "It depends on where you are and what time of the year it is. These waters are new to me, so I do not know if it is normally this cold." Personally, the water was just a tad to cold, but Lyria could stand it.

Oota decided to stand about a horse width away from the Nova, her little uncertainty being washed away as the other declared she wouldn't let her be washed away herself. "Thanks, I don' really use 'em, swimming is way more fun! And these silly horns? They just get caught in stuff, always have!" Her gaze found the water again as it pushed at her legs, making her feel unwanted yet fastening her will to stay. "I only met one water horse... he comes and goes..." This was the first time she'd actually told anyone about him directly, it made her feel sad, was it because she didn't get to see him very often? But shaking her head she steadfast to snap out of it, there was another one right here and she was happy and talkative just like her! "I bet you get to swim all over, thats so cool! This is a lot colder than the in land rivers and stuff. I've had lotsa practise but this is new to me too..."

"Swimming is fun, but I'm a little biased about that." she said giggling, "And even if they do get caught in stuff, your antlers are still very pretty!" Lyria said trying to move closer to her new friend. Yup, she was a new friend, Lyria decided right then and there. She watched as Oota talked about the other Nova she had met, "Yeah, I understand that... It's cool to travel, but it can be lonely at times..." Lyria herself had trouble maintaining friends since she was constantly in and out of herds herself and just drifting from place to place. It made her sad, but she always met new people, and she always remembered them, and was very happy the next time she saw them. "Sea swimming is different than rivers. You gotta respect it cause it can overpower you in a second!" Lyria said nodding seriously, she then said, "If you ever need practice in the sea, I can help!" Lyria said smiling brightly.

"You travel a lot? How can you be in a herd if you travel a lot?" She tilted her head the feather on the side of her ear tickling her neck making her giggle. Testing her stability the mare lowers her weight a little and feeling the waves push at her some more "Respect the sea... got it." She sure would have to, she'd never considered having his different an environment in the water to deal with. More practise would be required, so though it was frustrating she was thrilled with the new goal in life, not like she had much else going for her. "Thanks, I think I'ma going to need all the help I can get, though I'll get it, fo'sure!"

The chatter of others had reached a set of orange ears as a koi colored stallion drifted along the bottom of the water way. Black eyes glanced around the water, being that sounds were magnified down here and could come from any direction. Marrok gave a flick of his white tail and rose towards the surface, not knowing what to look for when his head breached the surface

Raising her head to flick her mane away from her face she did another jump but as she was in the water this time she swayed on the spot struggling to re-gain her balance. "Blimey stars above, whats..." She'd had to do a double take but she saw the eyes and wasn't entirely sure what/who they belonged to, leaning over to Lyria she nodded towards them "that?" The sea was a new thing for her, it could be a monster for all she knew!

Lyria watched the mare as she answered, "I have no herd... at the moment." She smiled, "I float from herd to herd, no family to be with." Though she would settle down once she met that right horse, for now it was just her and wherever the waves took her. Lyria moved next to Oota. It was the closest she dared to get to the shore, but Oota was there, so she didn't worry. She smiled to at her friend, "I will stay in the area for now to help you as long as you need it!"
Lyria looked in the direction Oota was looking and smiled. "Seems to be another horse." she said happily. "Hello!!!!" Lyria said happily. Lyria was a trusting soul, but you quickly lost it when you did anything she didn't like

Marrok turned his head and glanced over towards the voices and it seemed to be a couple of mares, both were in the water, his home land sort of speak. Ducking back under he noticed that one had hooves, the other a tail. Giving a half snort to himself, small bubbles raising to the surface in the effort. The koi printed nova headed closer to the mares. As he got closer his head breached the water's surface once more to speak. "Hello, and just what are you two ladies doing? Way out here?" he looked from one to the other.

Lyria peeked underwater. Yup, a Nova. She surfaced agan and smiled brightly at the new comer. "I'm helping my friend learn how to swim in the sea!" She paused for a moment, then said, "I'm Lyria!"

"Whoa!" Her eyes grew big and round as the other popped it's head out of the water "I gotta be dreaming, TWO water horses!" She was really excited now, as well as a little envious. Two Nova's right in front of her, and the first had called her a friend, that felt good all the way to her core. Her secret water horse had always been a dream, having only met him twice she always heard his words but he was a distant illusion to her everyday life... god she missed him. "Yup! I'm going to try swimming in the sea, It's a whole new area for me, gonna be fun! AND I get a friend to help me!" She smiled, proud to announce that... she hadn't really had a friend before... it was nice to say.
