It was the weekend, which meant no class. Which meant sleepovers with Rikki. Which meant Rikki slept in until past noon, and Danny entertaining herself with video games on one of his bean bag chairs for about 5 hours after she woke up.
Which she was now doing.

"Danny if I hear 'frag out' one more time I'm going to toss a frag right into the TV."
Sometimes, Rikki really hated when Danny played Maul of Duty in the morning. (Or early afternoon. Rikki reserved the right to call it morning because he was still asleep.) He rubbed his cheek into his pillow, choosing to ignore the damp spot that definitely wasn't but probably absolutely without any semblance of doubt was drool, and sighed into the fabric. He'd been drifting in and out of sleep for probably the last hour, clinging desperately to the last bits of his dreams that represented the lasts fleeting moments of restless sleep. They were really weird dreams actually.
... Downright strange dreams.
"We didn't have a toga party last night right?"

Danny leaned back to view her boilfriend upside down. "You have a grenade?!" Danny asked worriedly. Since when had Rikki been storing grenades in his room? That probably wasn't very safe.
"Mmmm no. Togas would be fun though." Danny liked togas. Nice and short- lightweight so they weren't too hot. "But really, about that grenade ..."
Her head snapped to the screen, as an explosion went off. "Awww jack you. That wasn't fair!" Screams of insults could be heard even from OUTSIDE of the headset. They were that noisy. "Shhh you're being too loud Rikki wil- JACK YOU JACKING AHHHHhhhHHHhhh."

Rikki snorted out a laugh into his pillowcase. "I don't have a grenade. If I did you'd probably trip over it and blow up my room or something." As the voices became too loud he slipped out of bed, scratching his stomach idly. Waking up in the morning was kind of like trying to find the surface of water - until he finally broke through the top everything seemed more difficult and muffled.
He did manage to zombie his way to Danny and gently pry the headset from her head, however. "Sorry guys I think the headsets breaking up. Krsssh. Can't krshhh hear you krshhh gotta krsssh shhh." He pressed the button the side that turned it off and tossed it to the unoccupied beanbag.
He still felt vaguely uneasy, though. Something about his dreams had just been too weird.

The headset was tossed aside and Danny gave Rikki the saddest look. She'd been having fun with that and now her nice toys were taken away. Regardless, muscle memory had her scooting over to make room for Rikki. "D'you wanna play? You still look kinda sleepy."

He folded himself into the spot Danny cleared in the beanbag, curling around her and resting his head on her shoulder. "You can keep playing. I am still kind of tired. I didn't sleep well. Weird dreams," he hummed, twirling the hair at the nape of her neck around his fingers.
"It was kind of like the battle dream, I had." The clothing had been kind of similar, at least.

Well if he was going to let her keep playing, of course she was going to keep playing. They were relaxed, and at this point in the relationship she didn't feel uncomfortable just sitting together not doing much but cuddling and playing video games. At least this time the headset was off, so she could keep up a conversation with him without cursing and screaming at the Tv.
"Mmm? What kind of dreams?" she asked, laying her cheek on the side of his head. "Scary? Er- not the good kind, I mean."

Rikki hummed low in his throat, a sleepy and content sound that most definitely meant that he was losing his hold on consciousness. He blinked rapidly and tried to focus on Danny's voice.
"It was just... weird," he repeated. "I was dead, but not? Like an undead or something, I guess. And I was a part of a kingdom of these other undeads. There were a lot of kingdoms, and they just kept falling apart and warring and fighting to keep from falling..."
He trailed off, browns furrowed, and nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck. "They had shitty fashion, too."

"Sounds weird. You're a reaper though, don't worry. I can tell 'cause you're not like ohhhh noooo fire ahhh." She stroked a hand through his hair, smiling at his nose in her shoulder. Her hand slunk lower, moving to rub circles on his back. She could tell that even though he was talking it down, he was a little spooked.
Of course, the sleepiness in Rikki's eyes didn't escape her. "What kinda shitty fashion?" Danny asked. "Were you in like a dress? Oh my Jack you were in a dress, weren't you."

"IT WASNT A DRESS IT WAS A TOGA. They're totally different!"
Though if Rikki really believed that, he might not have kept his face buried in his shoulder where she couldn't see his cheeks turning pink. It had totally been a dress, and it had totally been purple. He was a jacking ghoul.
"It was just... it felt really real, you know? Like I swear I was actually there, not just dreaming about it. It's weird."

Danny giggled and pulled his head up for a kiss. "I think you'd make a pretty ghoul and I would still date you." Actually, it would probably make more sense that way. Danny would be the man and Rikki the ghoul. All would be right with the world.
"Well what happened in the dream? Did your uh- Undead Kingdom win the war?" she questioned, continuing to shank an enemy human in the game to dissipation. One thousand more points whoo!

Little did Danny know, that was exactly what their relationship was anyways. Rikki would forever be the ghoul. "That's pretty kinky," he huffed with a laugh against her lips.
"I don't think so? It was... kind of confusing. It just felt like a lot of death and battle." He scrunched up his nose unhappily. "Hey, you're going to beat my score don't do that."

"Sounds scary. I don't like dreams about death." The sad thing was that they'd both had enough to reference. "It doesn't sound like anything important, then. You're probably just stressed out about like ... I dunno homework. Homework makes me have bad dreams too." Of course, Danny's "bad dreams" were usually things like her homework eating her. Not battles and wars and deaths.
To his discontentment with her score, Danny shot another human from long range. "I already beat it an hour ago."

Rikki hummed and shrugged. She was probably right, it was just a dream and it didn't mean anything. "You know what makes me have bad dreams? Roch. Roch makes me have bad dreams." He shuddered jokingly, but the effect was ruined by his chuckling.
"AUGH DANNY! It's going to take me weeks to get the high score again!"

Danny raised an eyebrow at Rikki. "You dream about Roch?"
Seeing as the match was coming to a close and she was securely in first place, Danny relented her assault on the humans for a moment to cross her legs over Rikki's lap and place herself more squarely upon him. "Well don't worry I'm sure you'll be okay 'cause like they're just dreams and stuff and I'm here so yeah."
That was excellent advice in her mind. "Oh yeah and my cousin's coming to Amity I guess." Subtle detail. Might as well slip that in.
