(( Somehow that title keeps looking dirty, but oh well...))
The sun was well on its way below the horizon by the time Desdelle and an over-eager Oni reached the main gate of Warden's. There was maybe less than ten minutes of light left, the last deep orange rays tripping sloppily over the prison's walls and on the yard's grounds. Above, the stars were already peeping, and in the forest beyond things were beginning to stir.
The blue tugged excitedly against his harness, choked and oddly squealched burbles and whines escaping up from his throat. All he saw were warm hues bouncing off the sun-baked stone of the walls, but he could hear the nightlife, and smell its wild scents. Go go go! Runrunrunrunrunrunrun. Excitement and a pounding heart registered clearly up to his handler, but the tall, older woman merely yanked on the handle of his harness.
"Wait, Oni."
Oni snarled in frustration at the ground before deciding that rubbing his face in the dirt was an excellent way to vent such feelings. He snorted and snorfled, slamming down a massive foot and raking back pebbles.
Desdelle only rolled her eyes, then hip-checked the wher. She felt his frustration in her own way, some sort of quiet anxiety. But there wasn't much she could do; she wasn't about to join the blue in rubbing the dirt with her face.

Night was Stella's favorite time. So as the stars started to gain over the sun, she bid Rev a good evening and started for the main gate to meet with Desdelle and start their patrol. Stelask walked beside her, frame tense with energy, coiled up and ready to burst out into the jungles. Stelask tail was the only part of the wher that expressed the pent of energy, lashing out and then coiling in turns.
Stella rounded the corner and laughed, loud and teasing as she watched the blue wher grind his face into the dirt. "I didn't think we were that late," she chuckled, walking up at ease. Stella gave a small motion with her hand and Stelask bolted from her side.
The green wher passed Desdelle and Oni, hair turning and quivered, staring at the blue. Hunt, challenge, best. She curled her tail, hunkering down. Run. She gave a low rumbling sound, deep in her chest, scooting slowly forward.

Oni smelled Stella and Stelask before they appeared, but that did little to actually prepare the wher for when he saw them. Letting out a strangled-sounding whine, the giant oaf proceeded to move about in a multitude of antic motions, from throwing half of himself on the ground, to jumping, to standing high on his back legs. And all of it was much annoyance to Desdelle's poor arm. Thus, when Stelask threw herself into a crouched stalk, Desdelle simply just let Oni go.
"You're not," she corrected, a little more terse than she had intended. With visible annoyance, she tossed the handle to her wher's harness out of her hand. "Go for it," she grumbled at the animal, then took a few steps out of the way towards Stella. "I just have a moron for a bonded partner."
As if on cue, Oni eyeballed Stelask, registered her 'challenge' and then started scooting towards her in a similar manner. Charge, he corrected, and sprung towards her.

Stella chuckled, looking at Oni and then back to Desdelle. "Well, I have an aggressive huntress. Which probably isn't the same thing but still causes all sorts of trouble." She hummed watching Oni charge and her own bonded run and flatten herself in response. "What are our rounds?"
Stelask hissed softly, tail tip twitching back and forth as Oni started forward. The green ran forward and flatten herself, hoping Oni would miss her. She grinned sharply, twisting to n** at Oni's tail. 'n**.'
