It was cooler than it had been for several weeks now, and even though he had no JOY or strange ragey skin shards to keep him warm, West was feeling pretty good anyway. If he was being honest, his comfort level had likely improved in their absence. He had finished up all of his school-related business early, leaving him more than enough time to terrorize his wall hippos and play "Fling FEAR Candy at the Scareon's Head" with Master before realizing that these activities were kind of sad and that he was teetering perilously close to the edge of utter boredom. The pumpkin sun was still high in the sky, and he had most of the day ahead of him to waste away. There were any number of additional things he might have done to eat up some time normally, but right now his room was clean, he had just engaged in flight practice the day before, and he wasn't hungry in the slightest. Sometimes it sucked being the king of efficiency.

The demon put on his jacket, strode over to the door, strode back to the closet, took the jacket off again, and flopped onto his bed with a sigh. Ten minutes later, he might have dozed off.

That was the most intense dream she'd ever had. Her kin were out now, though, and Levi had just about returned to her usual morning routine. Popcorn was staying a little closer than usual, occasionally nudging against her ankles while watering her crops or making something to eat. Okay, so he usually did bother her at such times, but this time the candy corgon wasn't looking for treats. Yew been hangin'round Sweets fer too long. The Treat had latched itself to her head, nuzzling into her hair. This would go on for the next forty-eight hours.

She slept but not well. The odd feeling that she'd wake up somewhere else having been taken like Xiu was gave her chills. Nonetheless, the tatzel ghoul got a few winks in. What she remembered about her dreams still reminded her of the events that had taken place- tea, fireworks, Demi's crops, the Voice, West. The light pink hair was the last thing she saw of the fireworks-wielding boil, but it was his laugh that she kept hearing over and over in her dreams. She needed to see him. An overwhelming need to see him caused Levi to leave her dorm, her eyePhone remaining on the ledge of her window by her bed. At her door, Levi bid the mini critters therein adieu, shutting it behind her but, as always, not locking. Still wriggling on one of her boots till her heel sunk into its rightful place, the tatzel soon made her way sprinting out of the monster dorms, bounding over the campus grounds as quickly as she could to close the distance between herself and the demon dorms. Perhaps she was not so unlike her minis; Levi needed to check on West. She wanted to make sure he was okay and- that other thing too. I missed you.

Climbing up the tree closest in proximity to the outside his window, it became apparent that old habits died hard. The ghoul peered into the wrath demon's room looking for signs of life before making her move. Wriggling till she got enough stability from the tree, Levi sprung off of the branch and onto the window sill. Quietly, she preyed the window open with her fingers, wedging them under and lifting the heavy wooden frame up until there was enough room for her to get in. West's Scareon, Master, seemed to be on her back, looking more elongated then usual as she napped; Levi grinned at this scene. They were both napping. West was silent, more peaceful than he ever was awake. Tail curling up, Levi quietly closed the window and tip-toed over to the side of the blue-sheeted bed.

Levi considered what she wanted to do first. The furry white appendage of her tail could slither overtop, snaking its way over the dozing demon's stomach like she'd done before. Se could have doused him with cold water or woke him up to the smell of spookies.

These things just took too much time.

Levi considered these few minutes she'd been standing there enough of a waste. There he was; the real Westus. The boil that made her weak and strong... and sometimes fueled by-

She was already on the bed, sitting at his thighs and curling over so her head would rest sideways at his chest. She listened to the sounds his insides made; proof that he was right there with her. Mornin' sleepyhead. Her eyes were closed and she sighed after saying it, but there was still a distinct playful cheekiness to her voice. Thought I heard someone callin'. Were ya'dreamin'a me?

He hadn't been asleep long enough to dream, just long enough to go slightly slack-jawed and snorey. The boil shifted when he felt something pressing against his chest, raising his arms with the intention of slapping at whatever it was until he smelled her hair and heard her voice. West looped his arms around her instead, glancing down at his chest just to make sure she wasn't some sort of candy-corn-scented impostor before squeezing her closer.

"As nice's that woulda been, I think I've only been asleep fer like..." He turned his head, stifling a yawn with the back of his hand as he peeked at his clock. "...Twenny-six minutes. Not sure I can dream that quick. Unless yer a dream now." He chuckled, ruffling her hair with his breath. She could very well have been a product of his imagination with the way she was acting. West swallowed. "Should I be worried 'bout th' safety of my stuff?" The ease with which she was able to get in here was uncanny. Of course, he had taken to leaving his windows unlocked since they'd been together, so he supposed he only had himself to blame for any surprise tatzel invasions. It was interesting that she was also the reason he had started locking them in the first place.

Her tail began to twitch above her immediately in response to finally hearing his voice. All too urgently, the ghoul butted her head up under his chin, purring for just a split second before receding. He'd embraced her on sight; this was indeed her West. The wrath demon recognized the tatzel and gave her a laugh. Propping her elbows up on the bed, Levi wriggled downward a bit, resting her hands on his chest, topping them off with her chin. Her lips spread into a wide smile. This way, she was at perfect viewing distance. This was a whole new level to the tatzel's usual awkwardly close positioning. He didn't have to do a thing otherwise to make her completely enthralled to see him; he just had to lay there right now, looking and speaking to her.

His comment on her being a dream was met with a brief stiffening of her entire body. Her ears fluttered back as she closed her eyes again, opening them only after she was certain this was no dream. The ghoul eased once figured out what he meant. Could say tha'same fer yew, boil, kekeke.

The other Westus was missing this smell; West was riddled by a rustic metallic musk much like that of dried blood. His counterpart smelt of the gunpowder he used to craft his fireworks; it wasn't the same. Snorting, she played into his smart-mouthed inquiry. Well now, ya'know- One index finger came up to tap at her chin as she looked away towards the ceiling, imitating the development of thought. I didn't bring ma'dream scissors. So unless yew got some 'round here I can borrow, I reckon yer knickers 're safe.

Her hand rubbed against his chest just to get the feel for his living, breathing and moving tissue. This was definitely real, and he was without a doubt the real West. Levi's hands slid then away, wedging themselves behind his shoulders. Feels like I ain't seen yew fer years, West. Considering she had just lived an entire other life of memories, it wasn't too farfetched.

"Levi," he murmured, his reply more a rumble in his chest than anything particularly coherent. Her purr remained as intriguingly distracting as it had ever been, but its effect couldn't compare to how scattered his thoughts became when she got this close, especially when she lingered, watching him. It wasn't even remotely similar to the look she gave to fish, but it still made him feel like she was searching for a spot to bite. He swallowed again.

"Yeah, it's been a while," West said, smirking faintly. "Not years though." He skimmed his hands up her back and over her shoulders, bringing them to a stop at her upper arms. Something wasn't quite right here, but the boil very selfishly didn't want to discuss it. Well, fine, maybe he could be persuaded to, as long as she stayed right where she was while they did so.

"Hmm. If yer not a dream an' I'm not neither an' you dun have any scissors an' I'm not gonna give you any, guess there's nothin' t'do 'cept lie here, right?" His grin grew. "Unless there's somethin' more y'came for?" There. He'd asked.

That was a mouthful that had the tatzel staring blankly at the boil for a good few seconds. It wasn't out of disapproval or displeasure; Levi just took some time, trying to understand what he'd said. Reckon that's a fair idear. She allowed him to hold her, resting her full weight on the wrath demon until he asked something.

What had she come by for again?

West was safe, that much seemed clear. Though, did he have any idea of what had gone on around here lately? Around the subject of of dreams, West hadn't mentioned anything to her that would imply he remembered what had happened- what happened to his other self. As far as the tatzel was concerned, they'd been connected somehow. She could remember the dreamy memories of the Phoenix but did he recall anything at all?

West... Looking into those green eyes, Levi searched for an answer, offering a somewhat serious but soft voice; how much was known, if anything? Do yew- have ya had a good dream lately? Not that it was all that good, but depending on what he knew, she hoped at least that had made it a good one.

He indulged himself in one last pleased sigh before turning his full attention to her question. Had he had a good dream lately? It depended on her definition of good, he supposed, and whether or not she cared if the dream was one of the usual good ones or something more memorable. Most of his dreams featured a nearly ridiculous amount of fighting, and while those were almost universally wonderful, they were nothing new. He couldn't imagine she meant... those sorts of dreams either, so West kept his mouth shut and moved on when they inevitably crossed his mind.

Since their sleigh ride, he hadn't had all that much time to speak with Levi one-on-one. They saw each other in class, of course, but Amityville could be a time-consuming place. He'd had trouble finding the right moment to tell her about his fight with the dream demon, or maybe he just told himself that to justify his stalling.

"Is this about Xiu?" he blurted. West hadn't had any dreams about the ghoul, but considering she was the mistress of dreams or something, maybe Levi was just referring to the baku all fancily. "She started... no, okay, I did. But she got me back, I promise. I didn't go 'round hittin' yer... not-jiejie... fer no reason." He couldn't stop the words for a while after they had begun, but once they dropped off on their own, he bit his lips together to keep them from spilling out again. The boil was quite sure now that she hadn't been talking about Xiu at all. "But... dreams? Nope. Haven't had many an' they haven't been anythin' better than usual."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:08 pm

Ya mean- Xiu gave ya a whoopin'? Well she certainly hadn't been expecting that to come out from the boil. M'sorry I missed it. Woulda liked seein' ma'baku ghoul givin' ya a good one n' two. Her tail wavered back and forth mischievously, clearly appeased by hearing this information. Next time ya'll should gimme a shout though, alright? I wanna see ma'two finest pupils fightin'it out.

She'd guessed that West was considering Xiu a subject of discussion here given her knowledge of dreams and dream diving. Well, it was true that Xiu was involved, but not in the manner he was recalling. I guess it's sorta a real realistic-like dream. I had one too. N' Xiu... n' Shun... n Demi. Lots'a folks did. Yew don't remember nothin' bout any'a us tha'last lil'while?

Her thumb and index finger reached to his chin, stroking at the tiny pink bristles. Yew were there too. The fireworks makers version of West didn't have these tiny hairs on his chin, but instead had much longer hair on his head- and chest. Levi looked down for a moment as if she could see right through the boil's shirt, knowing what he looked like under there. She couldn't recall retaining what he'd looked like when she'd bandaged him up after one of their gym battles, but through the other world, it was now engrained into her memory. Looking back up, Levi smiled at West again. Some things were different. But in'nother ways, yew were tha'same. The ghoul tilted her head as she thought through her experiences and memories of the fireworks maker. But mostly different, I'think. Pushing upward, Levi kept the wrath demon's chin in place, pressing her lips to his experimentally.

Just as she thought; they were different.

"Maybe she did," he replied, rolling his eyes and smirking as he shook his head. "I'm not sayin' anythin' else about it. Yer gonna need t'train me a lot more before y'get me t'actually call you teacher though." West was kind of relieved that she didn't seem to mind that he had done his share of beating on the baku. He wanted to explain that Xiu hadn't seemed like herself, but from what he could recall, neither had he. For all he knew, he'd been the one to make them both go batshit somehow. He should probably go and make sure the ghoul was okay at the very least. Not right now. Maybe next week.

He listened to Levi's brief tale with detached curiosity, still remaining about a quarter of the way from resuming his nap, at least until she pinched at his chin and peered down at him like he was hiding a treasure map under his clothes. He narrowed his eyes, kissing her willingly enough at first, but it wasn't long before he tugged at the hand that held him still and pulled it away from his face. "Y'met some guy like me in a dream?" he asked, lifting his shoulders away from the bed and pecking his way up her jaw. "Everyone did?" Although he didn't want to stop, the way he was forced to bend in order to continue was uncomfortable with her lying the way she was. He dropped his head again and let her go, his right hand leaving her arm and wrapping around the back of her neck instead. "I think I'm touched. What'd you all do t'gether?" West hadn't meant for his tone to be quite as tinged with sarcasm as it had ended up, but he supposed he couldn't change that now. He braced for retaliation, caught halfway between wanting her to fight back and already regretting what he had said.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:47 pm

His lips broke away first; what? Perplexed as to just what the boil was trying to get at, Levi furrowed her brows disapprovingly just in case for good measure. What'chu sayin', boil? If he'd been upset by something she said, he had one heck of a way of showing it by attempting to n** at her jaw. Ya callin' me a fibber?

Simply out of spite, the tatzel's neck applied resistance to West's hand. It wasn't that she didn't like being touched there; Levi was making a point. Her tail came around to West's right side, collapsing onto the bed with an audible thunk! - was this a threat? Perhaps. The wrath demon surely knew Levi didn't like being called out for cheating.

Was that what this was?

Levi considered a certain thought: What if West was playing into jealousy? She'd read bout this sort of thing in her Teen Scream magazines. Sometimes boils were weird enough to believe their mates were two-timing them. If that were the case, they should have dissipated them; it was as simple as that. However, the tatzel knew she hadn't done any such thing. It was yew! YEW! Alright? Ya made fireworks fer me n' Xiu. Was sorta like our own kingdom n' castle n' tha'like. Ya put'on a fireworks show fer everyone b'fore we went out ta'war n'- LOOK I CAN PROVE IT!

I learned a'few things thar.

She no longer fought his hand, but instead leaned forward to the point where their foreheads touched. It was like this, I'think... Closing her eyes, Levi could help but give him one more peck, her left hand sliding up towards the wrath demon's right horn. Fingers and thumb rounding the base of his horn, Levi's head lifted, disconnecting their frontal lobes so she could assess his reaction, but not before whispering something into his left ear. Ya'liked this.

A wild grin lit his face, spreading quickly from his lips to ignite a spark behind his eyes. He didn't have to open his senses to know this wasn't true anger, but that hardly mattered. Provoking her was the unspoken goal of his subconscious the vast majority of the time, even if he often thought he should curb that particular impulse whenever it reared its head. The threat of her tail only pleased him more.

"Nah'd never call you a liar anymore," he said, his tone sincere even when accompanied by that grin. West flexed his fingers, loosening the ones curled around her neck as she pulled away. He fully expected her to eventually come back on her own, even if he was starting to believe she might have gone insane. "See, I jus' think maybe yer readin' inta some dream y'had, thinkin' everyone was there. 'Cause I dunno a damn thing 'bout fireworks an' you an' Xiu dun have a ********' castle an' there's no war 'cept wit' those hu—"

He ceased his argument when she loudly insisted that she could prove her claim. Fine. If she was so determined to show him some scrap of paper that said 'Princess Levi' on it or a picture she'd drawn of him blowing s**t up, he supposed he couldn't deny her the embarrassment.

She'd learned something? Okay. What could she possibly... oh.

West hadn't been jealous of this Different-but-the-Same fireworks-toting a*****e before, but as Levi circled her fingers around the skin that met his horn, the boil felt a sharp twinge of envy mix with the delicious itch that bloomed in his gut. He wouldn't have cared that she had met some copy of him while she'd been asleep if that had been all it was, but if she'd been of a mind to grab at his double like this, West couldn't help wondering what else had gone on. He stared at her in defiance, his face unchanging save for the quick puff of breath he exhaled as he squirmed beneath her. Either one of these reactions might have been easily written off, but in displaying them both, his cover was pretty much blown. His fingers lost their grip on her neck entirely, taking a hold of the hand buried in his hair instead.

"Lucky guess."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2013 1:51 am

Yew watch yer mouth with'me, birdboil.

She grinned right back when West made his obvious attempt to hide a reaction, throwing out the occasional use of profanity. The tatzel ghoul was delighted to know that the real West was indeed just as ticklish there as his counterpart- only her West wouldn't give her the benefit of a win for knowing it. The wrath demon still wasn't being convinced. Lucky in'a piggle's eye. Upping the amplification, Levi then mirrored this action with her other hand. If he was going to test her here, Levi wasn't going to back down either. She would make him get that it was real. With his one hand stopping her first from continuing, her other carried on. It was still entertaining to watch and fell him squirm. In this moment, Levi definitely felt more powerful than him.

It wasn't a displeasing moment.

Dunno when ya'think I would'a learned 'bout this, boil. I don't go'round grabbin' yer horns, do'I? Levi's voice was still playful, only providing West with her false display of anger. -'re nobody else's neither. The tatzel could already smell that comeback ready for deployment by that sharp demon's tongue of his, so she decidedly added it in herself. I didn't have no palace. N'Xiu wasn't no King. I'wasn't no Queen. Thems were our other uses. Yer other yew made tha'fireworks n' I- she bought 'em all tha'time. Just so happened ta'buy some that day. Xiu n'some others were taken n' put inta'tha world place I went to. But was all confused n' me n' some folks who went in ta'get 'em fergot.

She paused, staring at West before sighing and removing her freely roaming hand from his left horn. Was Medea who made us remember 'gain. N' that's when yew... Levi bit her lower lip, unsure of how to explain that she'd killed the other West immediately after finding out the truth. She imagined in any world it wouldn't sound too good. Instead, she chose a subject change.

But if yer not takin' that- fine. I'll show ya'somethin' else. Ya'got any paper? N' somethin' ta'write with?

She asked, but she didn't move from where she was.

At the very least she managed to keep him quiet as she continued to explain. West fought against the twitches and laughter he desperately wanted to release, though he did occasionally get some listening done as well. No, he would be the first to agree that Levi certainly didn't regularly touch him like this. He wanted to believe she hadn't been doing it to anyone else recently either. No, he had to believe it. He had to, or every bit of progress he'd forced himself to make, every ounce of trust he'd placed in her over the last year would have been for nothing.

He inhaled for a very long time once she had let him go and he was safe from unwanted outbursts. Her mention of Medea almost made him cry foul, but he didn't think he could stand any more of her teasing retaliation right now. West glanced up at her when she paused, but he didn't get a chance to ask her what was wrong before whatever it was seemed to pass and his mind slipped back into denial mode.

Sure it was odd that she knew how to tickle him all of a sudden, but so many things at this school were. Frankly he thought it more likely that she had been dragged into a trance and shown these secrets than that all of this King Xiu stuff was true, but...

King Xiu.

The crown.

Okay, maybe he was starting to come around. If Xiu had been taken to this other world and crowned king...

"She'd need a court," he muttered. Well, s**t. "There," West said, looking up again and keeping his eyes on the tatzel this time. He pointed at his desk. "Both in th' drawer."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:03 pm

She had one. Was a Queen n' knights n' bishops n rooks. N'all a ya'll. Shun, Riley, Mot n' Yin. Whole bunch a'folks n' they were all as real as yew n' me.

Tail grounding down at the floor, Levi carefully eased off of West, nodding at his guidance but continuing to further explain. Making her way over to the desk in a hop, skip and a jump, Levi did indeed find a few capless pens and some sheets of blank white paper. Weren't us. But I remember things, West. Things I know ain't ma'own. Growin' up in them hills, I sure as shufflin' didn't live in no palace. But tha'other me did; she remembers it. I remember it. Sorta. Can remember way back ta'when they were wee scarlin's. Comes n' goes. Setting two sheets down on the desk, Levi looked back towards West in such a manner that it could have been perceived as her scanning his body. Taking up one of the pens, Levi hunched over the desk, periodically staring back at West, scanning over him with her gaze. The sound of frantic scribbling could be heard when the tatzel wasn't looking at the boil. When the sound and Levi's arm movements ceased, she returned to West with both sheets still facing her, held flat against her Chest while she climbed back onto him, sitting at his hips so she could place them accurately. Hold still now.

The tatzel lined them up one at his chest, and the other at his stomach; one landscape and one portrait. On the sheets were nonsensical scribbled lines just as the sounds had indicated. However, they did produce an outline of a sort. Larger on the top landscape piece, the form tapered the lower the pen markings got until about the point of below his navel. That's where yer pants were. Folding her arms, Levi stared down at West triumphantly, waiting for his submitting to her new proof. If ya'ain't no tatzel boil... ya'coulda fooled me.

Shun. Riley. Mot. Yin. Levi. Xiu's court. And he'd been there too, lighting things on fire. It was funny, like a scareling playing with her dolls. He supposed most kids didn't throw their dolls into a war. Something still wasn't right.

With the weight of Levi gone West sat up, watching the ghoul as she shuffled around in his desk drawer and suddenly recalling what he had been keeping there. He was so relieved at the fact that she hadn't noticed what he was hiding that he didn't register what she was doing at first, not until she began her frenzied scribblefest. His lips pursed and his brows furrowed as he watched her, but neither helped. He still had no idea what she was doing. The boil cast her suspicious glares whenever she looked up, and they continued even as she approached and he obediently leaned back on the bed, his horns fitting neatly in the divots they'd previously occupied.

"What in Jack's name d'y'think yer doin'?" he said, peering down at his body while she placed her scribbly papers in some special alignment. Too bad he continued to have no clue what any of this meant. Not until she mentioned his pants and tatzels and...

Dear Jack. She had just mapped out his chest hair.

The blood drained from his face this time for a change, and he grabbed at her man pelt diagrams, resisting the desire to shred the things as he flung them onto the floor. West sat up again, trusting her balance and her tail to keep her from being catapulted off the end of the bed as a result of the sudden movement. He fisted his hands once or twice, finally moving them behind his back to prop himself up.

"He went 'round shootin' off fireworks with his shirt off? Or didja take it off'im?" Yeah, he believed her now, but he sorely wished he didn't. "If I ever meet this guy, I'm gonna punch'im in his fff—smirkin' jaw!" West bent his knees and inched forward, quickly deciding that wasn't the best course of action to take if he wanted to remain angry.
