The New Year had started out pretty basic for Delilah to the point that she was starting to wonder if the year had changed at all. Of course the number had but everything else seemed the same. She was still in High School working on ‘future’ courses. Her parents were still working. And strange events were still going on in Destiny City that had little to no logical answer.
As she walked down the sidewalk during sunset, Delilah was looking around the city wondering a very basic thing: Why here?
But all of that faded as she turned her eyes back on a building that had closed for the night. Seeing herself in the dark window, Delilah stopped for a moment and began to re-do the high ponytail she wore. ”Why don’t those small hairs every grow out?” She sighed trying to flatten them back into the rest as the sun set deeper behind her.

The Eternal Senshi of Danger was doing the usual.
If he was asked not too long ago what he would be doing after sun set on a regular basis, 'fighting the good fight' would not have been his answer. Causing trouble, breaking into buildings, seeking the company of ladies: those seemed like more viable options.
But no, somehow he had been chosen by some crazy space force to be a good guy, someone who was supposed to save people and keep them alive. He bought it to some extent, and thus he went out to do what he called a patrol regularly enough to qualify as a dedicated senshi. He'd earned his buttwings, though his methods were...
Different.
Chaonis still did all that other stuff, of course. He would be damned if he let this 'job' get in the way of the fun stuff. Tonight, he was looking for something interesting to do, hopping from roof top to roof top in search. He saw a girl down below, but he didn't go down.
She was alone on the street, though, so she might be good youma bait. He opted to wait and see if anything punchable showed up. And if not, at least he had a nice enough view.

Several moments passed before Delilah was finally smiling at herself in the window. Even with the gloves on to protect her hands from the cold, she had done a very good job (in her mind) of making herself presentable again. Turning to check the layering of her coat, Delilah never noticed the presence watching her; either one of them.
The one from above would go unnoticed. The one from behind, Delilah quickly began to sense as she saw a form in the reflection. Based on size and location being behind her, Delilah's thoughts went to that it was just some punk looking for an easy target.
Sighing as she turned, her mouth opened to tell him to go away but she was quickly stopped. What she saw was large alright but it didn't appear human in anything outside of the outline. As large as a two humans and crossing the street towards her was creature out of a horror story.
Frozen at first, Delilah stood still just watching it. Only when it was half way across did she let out a cry and turn to make her way down the sidewalk at a run. "HELP!"

"Yeah, yeah," Chaonis called back, when she screamed for help. Like it was somehow unreasonable for her to want to be saved from a terrifying creature she had never seen before, and had no way of fighting back against.
It was just Chaonis being his usual self: he hated having to do things. Being expected to do things. The whole saving lives things was part of that, though he did actually do it instead of try to hide from his responsibilities like most other aspects of his life.
So her asking for help made him feel obligated to help her, which in turn made him want to do the exact opposite.
He leaped at the youma, directly from his perch on the roof. It was a little bit of a fall, and the youma had time to look up and see the human projectile coming its way. It reached up and swung a hefty arm, swatting Chaonis away with surprising ease before it turned to follow after Delilah again.
Embarrassing himself was another thing Chaonis hated. He sprawled over the ground, unhurt save his pride.

When Delilah called for help, she had hoped either for a place to hide, a cop, or someone with a gun. She had never even dreamed that from the sky would drop something atop of the monster only to be sent flying in the other direction. While her eyes had missed the initial hit, Delilah had heard the arm/body contact in time to turn and see a man hit the ground hard.
At first she slowed down and just gazed at the would-be hero. Was he still alive?
Three seconds passed before she realized that the giant man was after her again and Delilah was back on the run. She was still slightly concerned about Mr. Face-plant so looking over her shoulder called out "Hey, are you alive?" The call was met by and attempted swing in her direction. "Because I could really use some help please! I think it's trying to kill me now..."

Chaonis grunted his annoyance and pushed his hands under him, getting very slowly to his feet. He was doing it more because he was pissed and trying not to explode than because he had been hurt in the tumble.
"Just get to some cover before I take over where the youma left off," he snapped back, angry because he knew she had seen him take the fall.
He looked at the youma, frowning.
"You made a mistake, buddy." He growled, then ran at the youma and launched himself at it. This time he did connect, plowing into the monster and sending them both rolling and scrabbling in a flurry of claws and fists over the pavement.
She better be thankful for all the effort he was putting into saving her butt, or he was going to just get up and find another youma to leave her with.

"What do you think I'm trying to do?" Delilah called out as she spun around a street lamp to look back and try to figure out which direction to go in. He was a big guy. Maybe if she ran curves he would...
And there went the monster in a flash of orange and white.
Keeping the lamp between herself and the action, Delilah watched as both figures went rolling away. If he wanted the attention of Mr. Tall, Dark and Ugly, he had it now. Still, what could he do? He was just some guy who fell out of the sky and managed to get launched somewhere else.
Instinctively, she looked around for something that could be used even for blunt force if it was called for. Closest thing she could find: a small piece of broken side walk just too big for her hand. Diving for it anyway, Delilah kept her eyes on the two hoping she could have decent aim if she had to throw and run.

Sirene Naiads Feel free to decide what Chaonis' attack does to the surroundings! Eternal Sailor Chaonis was determined not to be embarrassed again. He was determined to prove that he could fight, and that no damn youma was better than him. Such determination led him into reckless decisions.
Like calling his attack.
"Warning! Epic Hazards!"
His attack was a crap shoot. It was random, and dangerous, thus fitting with his sphere. It caused things around him to begin breaking, shaking the earth like there was a quake, even splitting the ground where it was weakest. It also boosted his strength, which was what he was after, and what he focused on while he was smashing his fist into the youma's face.
Around him, things began to break. Collateral damage was something he just accepted and, mostly, ignored at this point.

Holding onto her rock like it was a life line, Delilah watched the two forms brawl before, as fate would have it, one side decided it was time to get the other hand. At first she was glad it was the man who appeared to be on her side.
She then regretted it.
Not hearing him call any sort of words, Delilah only noticed that the ground around her seemed to be moving. Now the City born girl had heard of earthquakes but she had never been in one before. Yet alone, this close to the source of something so unpredictable.
What started as a small feeling of being off balance quickly spiraled out of control. Delilah's initial reaction: grab onto the lamp pole on hold on for dear life. So she did. Slowly, she could see small cracks in the sidewalk quickly became holes. The area she had grabbed the rock from now looked like it has never been solid to begin with. The building they were next to formed cracks up one wall. Even the road itself seemed to be breaking apart.
It wasn't until she looked up that she realized how dumb her idea of grabbing onto the pole was. The light was flickering and she swore she could ear sparks somewhere around her.
"Crap..." Delilah called out as she released the pole and made a mad dash out onto the road. All she could do was pray it didn't fall in her direction.
"What the hell is this?" She finally called out watching it sway and trying not to fall on her own a**.

Chaonis ignored her. He would explain what an earthquake was later, though of course it was no normal earthquake. It was his magic, as the Senshi of Danger. It was a price that others had to pay, just for being near him: he fought, usually to defend someone, but he ended up putting them in danger as well.
In a way, it explained why he did not use it that often, though he certainly would not say anything like that out loud. He did not like to admit actively that he worried about civilians, though he had at least reached the point where he could admit that he did not want to put other senshi's lives into more danger than they already experienced.
He was all about saving and protecting his own kind, though it applied to others as well.
"Just stay out of trouble!" He yelled instead, and charged to punch the youma as hard as he could. Which, with the power boost from his magic, was pretty damn hard. He was wrapped up in his fight and didn't notice what was breaking around him, least of all the lamppost. The youma did burst into dust though.

Stay out of trouble? Stay out of trouble! What the hell did he think she was trying to do? Baking cookies over there?
But trouble seemed to be a magnet to Delilah that evening for no matter what she did, things just did not want to work in her favor. First giant man came after her with an inhuman like appearance and strength. Then some hero tried to save her only to land on his butt. Now, she was trying to avoid being crushed by a light post.
Fate seemed to want her to pay for something.
As the quake was fading and the monster getting one more lovely punch to the face, Delilah was falling completely out of touch with her surroundings. She had become to focused on what was in front of her that she had forgotten about the cracks in the road. That meant that the gradual backing up she was doing found one of them.
Feeling her left ankle twist in the wrong direction, Delilah dropped to the ground hard just as the pole broke free heading, of course, in her direction.

Chaonis grinned as the youma vanished, looking proud of himself and turning to see if she had seen him totally make up for how embarrassing his entrance had been, only to see her falling on her butt and, of course, right in the way of a tumbling lamp post.
"Are you kidding me, lady?!"
He moved because he had to. Not because he knew it was his fault the post was falling in the first place, though it totally was, but because he was a stupid hero type guy and this was just the kind of thing he knew would end up getting him killed but he'd run into away. Maybe it was in his blood.
He charged and leaped at her, grabbing her and pulling her to him for a very dizzying and nauseating (for those unused to it) flip through the air. They landed so he was on his back and she was on top of him, the lamp post landing just a short distance from the top of his head.
"s**t."

Delilah didn't move. She could only brace herself as she threw her arms up in some sort of fashion to protect her head. Bones could heal. Severe brain damage didn't.
As she shut her eyes tight, Delilah suddenly felt herself being lifted into the air, flipped in a manner that belonged to a carnival ride, and then coming to a stop a split second before the lighter vibration of metal hitting ground shook her core.
She could hear the glass breaking. The once attached electrical cords buzzed in the distance. But Delilah's only focus for three deep breaths was holding onto whatever was under her. Eyes still shut, her hands reached over, grabbing onto what felt like a mixture of flesh and hard plastic. Squeezing for a moment, she willed herself to open her eyes and look up.
There, way too close for comfort, was the remains of a broken road covered in the pieces of what once had been light. What scared her most was that the post had landed directly where she had dropped to her knees.
Hanging her head with a release of breathe that spoke of her happiness not to be under it, Delilah suddenly found her nose inches from the form of a male. It took her maybe a second too long for her mind to understand why she was looking at brown eyes instead of concrete.
"Oh!" She finally gasped as her hands released what she believed to be his arms. She worked not to crush him any more as she pushed herself backwards off his chest. "Sorry..." Was all she could mutter for another breath as her eyes looked around.
"Thank you. That would have been me under that pole instead if it wasn't for you. I owe you one..." Looking back at him, she gave a shaky smile and waited to see if he was alright to move. Delilah owed him...owed him BIG. In a way, she knew a thank you wasn't enough but hell, she had asked for help dealing with this in the first place. "You got rid of that thing as well. Shame I missed it. It would have been nice to see how to face something like that if it ever happened again."
Even sitting there, ankle killing her, looking disheveled, Delilah's pride was a bit hurt that she had to be saved. Still, she was glad he was at least easy on the eyes.

Chaonis stared up at her, looking annoyed but also rather proud of himself. That had been an awesome move, and it was a shame no one had been around to see it. Or maybe a camera might have caught it, but there were none in the area.
Shame.
He did not seem to mind or notice her weight on him, and watched her leisurely as she pushed up and away from him. The view hadn't been bad, and he was also in no hurry to get up. The whole thing had left him winded, and just a little shaken. Though he'd hide that like a champ.
"You owe me one, huh? I'd love to see how you repay that. Anyway, don't worry about it. Saving folks and beating those monsters is my job. He sat up a bit, watching her with his head slightly canted to one side. Almost alarmingly, his mohawk had not gotten rumpled.
He grinned. He hadn't noticed her ankle was hurt, and he moved to get up, hauling her with him.

"Your job?" It wasn't hard to catch how little he seemed to care that he had risked life and limb to save her. Frankly the man just radiated the typical aura of a sales person that was paid for being nice. Well if he was getting paid for this, good on him. Delilah did not want that gig.
Going up with his help was easy. The male was strong and lifted her like a feather. Staying up on the other hand was not.
"Ow!" Delilah shoot out as her feet came down flat on the ground. The pain that shot up her left leg was killer and caused her balance to be thrown. The reaction was simple, hold onto him for dear life and let it pass. Strange enough, it hadn't hurt until pressure went onto it.
Wincing as she tried to wait it out, her eyes looked down at it the road. "Damnit. I rolled it worse than I thought." Her words came out through her teeth as she picked her foot off the ground. Any pressure was starting to get to her and curse it if Delilah would shed a tear even if she lost an arm.
