"Oh stop being such a baby," Candice said to Cotton with a laugh. The dog just finished with a check up from the vet and wasn't so happy about it. Candice had been sitting on a chair, waiting for the doctor to say that there was nothing else to do and that they were free to go. Cotton put her head head on Candice's lap, as if the dog wanted something. "Okay, okay... I'll get a treat from the counter!"
Candice opened the jar, which was open to all dogs that went through the clinic, and she pulled one out for Cotton. Once Cotton saw that Candice had something in her hand, the dog stood up and shook her tail. Candice smiled and gave her precious the treat. "Almost ready to go home, sweetie."
A few minutes later, Candice saw the doctor give her the thumbs up and then she stood up and waved. With Cotton's leash in hand, Candice was ready to go out the door and back home.

Trevor pushed open the door to the vet/shelter before walking and looking around, the building was divided into two areas and from the looks of it one area was for a veternary and the other was a shelter where anyone who wanted to adopt a dog went to see what breeds there were avaliable to be adopted. He smiled as he walked by a girl and her dog and from what he could determined it was the breed who enjoyed the outdoors a lot. He chuckled lightly and continued on his way to take a look at the breeds, he was hoping he would find a specific breed.

Candice thanked the black haired guy that opened the door and was ready to step out before she felt a tug on Cotton's leash and the dog was at the guy's legs, tugging on the pants that he was wearing. "Oh no, stop that, Cotton!"
She bent down to put her arms around Cotton's neck to stop the dog from doing any more damage. "I'm sorry! She just gets a little bit excited sometimes, and since she just finished with her doctor's appointment, Cotton's more excited than normal.
"Cotton... Calm down!" Candice made Cotton look up at her, eye to eye, and stared at the dog. She gave her dog a peck on the nose and got a wet lick on her lips in response. "Good girl," she exclaimed as she nuzzled the dog's head.
Candice stood up again and went to apologize. "I'm sorry, for Cotton. She loves people!"

Trevor chuckled lightly and bends down and pet the dog on the head before looking at the girl "its no problem, i don't mind being bothered" he said " i wasn't doing much anyway just looking at the dog shelter, and seeing how i can help them find a good forever home" he told her before standing upright and looking at her and extended his hand out " My name is Trevor Rose" he said. Before scratching the dog behind the ears. "What's her name and yours might i ask?" He asked politely. "I don't mind the greeting, i don't get that very often" he chuckled lightly.

Candice could see that Cotton was more than happy with the attention and Candice couldn't help herself and laughed. "That's a great idea! A lot of dogs need new homes. Sad to say Cotton wasn't one of them, but I invested a lot of time and money finding her."
"And yes! I'm Candice Shermon and that fluff ball is Cotton. She loves people, for the most part. A bit afraid of the dark, but she's growing out of that too." Candice could still recall the youma attack that caused the then-pup to be afraid. She still sort of was.
"What kind of dog are you looking for? Personality or type? I have to admit, 'both' is a little harder which is why Cotton was bought and not adopted." Candice realized she felt bad that she didn't adopt. "Hm.. Maybe I should get Cotton a friend. She's spayed anyways..."

Trevor chuckles lightly at the antics of Cotton "well, from the looks of it, she's enjoying her home" he put in with a smile. He didn't exactly have a breed in mind but he wouldn't mind a golden retriever or the breed Cotton is. " pleasure to meet you Candice, and you too Cotton" he said patting the dog on the head. He glanced at her and tilted his head to the side " what breed is she mind i asking?" He told her. He thought it over for a minute or two before answering her question "well, i was thinking a golden retriever if not i guess another breed, not sure though, just came to see what breeds there are" he put in "its mostly a bit of both, personality and type, i do have an active lifestyle both in and out of school, so a breed that is active but has a good temperament" he told her.

Candice beamed at the compliment. Cotton was pretty much her baby. She knew that the dog was probably more than spoiled, but there were times where Candice drew the line and Cotton was quite obedient.
"Cotton is an American Eskimo. She's been mistaken more than once for a Samoyed, but that's more so because they really do look alike. They're cousins!"
She thought about what Trevor told her in the last few minutes. "Hm... A dog that's active but has a good temperament.."
"I'm not a dog expert, but I think it would be better for you to go with a bit of an older dog. Not like... Old old, but not young either, I guess." She laughed just slightly, not even sure if she knew what she was talking about. "Definitely not a puppy. If you'd like, I can look around with you? Cotton would probably have fun meeting other dogs too!"

Trevor smiles " and judging how much you two enjoy each other's company i think its a good match" he put in, before pondering a bit he saw somewhere that there were also mini american eskimos, a smaller size of Cotton. "Ah, that would explain why her fur is so fluffy, built for cold weather i presume. though i did see somewhere that were smaller sizes of Cotton, though I'm not all too sure if that is true or not" he said. He would not mind having a breed like Cotton, he did spend most of his time outdoors and he didn't have a job so most of his time would be dedicated to the dog. He chuckles lightly " i'm no dog expert either, i just like being around them they are loyal to their owners" he put in. Before he glanced at her " that would be very helpful" he said to her. "So would a dog who is 1 year to 2 years old be a good age?" He asked her, he was new to this whole owning a dog thing, but he could use the company during his active lifestyle, he preferred company but there were times where he preferred to be alone, mostly when he was thinking about his life.

"Thank you very much! Cotton was definitely worth the time and money," she said as she bent over and ruffled her dog on the head. Candice had to admit, she was excited to help someone possibly find their new best friend!
Candice nodded at Trevor. There are definitely smaller Eskies. I think Cotton is a bit big, but from what I remember, her parents were larger Eskies as well. I thought a bigger dog would do better with being both a friend and a guard dog!"
She had to think again about the ages. "Well, if you think dog years, one of our years is 7 dog years... Maybe closer to 3 years? I mean, when they're 3 in our years, they're 21 in doggy years? It makes sense to me in my head," Candice told him.

Trevor smiles at Candice "your very welcome" he said to her before thinking on it. What would he name a dog if he got one, he had never thought about it before but he did want a companion. " i was thinking along the lines of like a husky or a golden retriever, which are both active, but i do need to find the right temperament. Though i am leaning more towards a husky" he told her "since most of my leisure time would br spent with the dog" he put in, he knew dogs were a lot of work but in the end they would remain loyal. He tapped his chin as he listend to her explain the ages, some made sense others didn't "i'm new this whole dog owning thing, so it may take me awhile to understand it. "So getting a 3 year old dog, would be a good age?" He asked her, undersanding most of it not a whole lot, its a good thing he ran into her or he would be completely lost.

"Ohh! I'm pretty sure you have good chances running into one or the other," Candice said with a nod. "They're both very popular breeds, and sadly enough end up in shelters a lot as well. Some families go on trips and leave the dog behind..." She trailed off as she tried to imagine not bringing Cotton somewhere and leaving her behind... It was just sad.
Candice smiled at Trevor's enthusiasm, actually giving some thought about what kind of dog he wanted and the dog's temper. "I think that sounds about right! Though you never know what you can find in a shelter."
"Though I do have to say two things..." Candice knew that she didn't own a dog all of her life, but Cotton was very dear to her and wouldn't give her up for the world. "For one, don't feel inclined to get a dog today, okay? I mean... If you don't feel like the dog is 'for you' and just adopting because you can isn't the best idea. Also... Make sure you have enough time for one, okay?"
"I'm a medical student so I know how hectic life can be, but I always. Always, make time for Cotton." Candice didn't want to seem like she was chastising Trevor, but she was afraid of dogs getting homes and then suddenly getting dumped again. It was more fear for the dogs' happiness than anything.
