The massage therapy clinic hadn't closed until late again, this time Leonora had spent more time cleaning than anything else. Her business partner and best friend had been sick so she had been working more as well as cleaning more. Only plus side that her friend was ready to pay her for the time she took over.
Leonora sighed as she finally went out the door and locked up. It had been a while since she had discovered that she was also 'Meru', and had done well to avoid getting home too later. She looked at her watch and saw that it was already well past midnight. There was nothing she could do about it.
Ever since she had powered up and became Meru, Leonora felt safer. Well, at least a little bit. There was another part of her that was a little bit stronger as well as a little bit faster and that would help her get out of trouble. Problem was... How would she defend herself if she ever got attacked? Leonora knew she wasn't a fighter; she helped relieve pain, not give pain!
She slowly made her way home, glad that was making good distance not being surprised or attacked. That was, before she saw someone though. Leonora looked at him curiously. He was dressed on and was pretty sure that he wasn't a civilian, but one of the 'powered' people.
Hurrying her pace, she yelled out. "Wait! You... With the shield!"

The Knight of Earth was still shaken by his most recent run in with the Negaverse. Even a man who had been in the fight as long as he had could be rattled, and though his resolve remained firm, he doubted his tactics, his use of his own strength.
He was walking down a quiet street, not anticipating too many people out, and picking an alley he was going to sneak down. He was expecting to vanish off the street before anyone came out, but he was spotted before that.
Maybe he was lingering. His mind kept wandering.
"Yes?" he said, turning to see the civilian running up to him. Normally he was not addressed in such a manner, unless something was also being hurled at his head at the same time, so he was at least interested in seeing what she wanted of him.
If she was in trouble, it was his duty to help her. Even if he was not feeling like much of a hero at the moment.

Leonora was thankful that she had managed to get the man to not disappear. She was finally in front of him and had his attention, but she realized she had no idea what to do. "I need your help, but... I'm not quite sure how to explain it."
She paused, thinking. "Wait... I know what I should do!" Leonora held out her right hand and thought about her ring and bracelet: all the delicate little star shaped stones, the thin chains that attached her bracelet to her ring. She realized she actually missed it and then it appeared on her hand. Closing her eyes, she could feel herself transforming... Becoming Meru.
When she opened her eyes again, Meru wanted to smile with the familiarity of it all, but part of her was still confused, and she knew she needed help. "Hi... I'm Meru, Page of Cosmos. Besides that, I have no idea who, what, where, when, why, and how of any of this," she said as she motioned to the night around the both of them.
Besides that, Meru had no idea what she wanted to say.

Camelot looked very concerned, almost as soon as the word 'help' passed from her lips. Maybe before then, because he could fill in the blanks from 'I need your'. He was already looking around, to see if there was a youma or a Nega agent chasing her, or some kind of visible trouble.
Then she powered up and he just sort of stared at her. It took him a moment to process that she had just powered up in front of him without even checking to make sure they were alone. Besides the fact that she didn't even know him! What if he turned out to be a very deceptive looking Negaverse soldier?
Or just a White Mooner who could not be trusted with such delicate and important information?
"I... I'm Camelot, Knight of Earth. And you can't just power up in the middle of the street! There could be anyone watching, and if a Negaverse soldier caught you, or a dark senshi, or any manner of things... if anyone saw you, you could be in very real danger! And your family!" He realized he was venturing into Scared Straight territory and diverted himself from that path. His tone softened.
"You're new to this? I can help you, but you have to promise not to do that again."

"I'm sorry... I really don't know much about this stuff... Even not as Meru I just moved here not too long ago..." Meru withdrew a little bit, ashamed. It made her question how she even got to where she was today. Why did life throw something like this? In a new city and involved in some kind of war?
Meru looked back up at Camelot and nodded. "I promise I'll never do that again."
She realized, now face to face with Camelot, she still didn't know what to do. 'Help' was more vague than she intended. It made her wonder if there was a right direction to head in. Was there something she was supposed to do? Something she was supposed to avoid.
"I guess moving to a new city and then having this world opened up to me took it's toll on me and I didn't know how to think and then act. I apologize if I did something that could have been bad for you."

Camelot smiled. He had snapped into protective dad mode almost immediately. He hadn't meant to scold her, but it was so natural to want to make sure every senshi and knight was taken care of, he often forgot it was not his place.
"I know how that feels, believe me. I felt the same when I awakened, not knowing what I was doing."
He motioned for her to walk with him, so they weren't just hanging out in full view of anyone that might walk by. He also just felt more comfortable while walking, like that somehow kept them more safe even though, really, they had just the same chance of being attacked while in motion then while stationary.
"It's just not safe to power up where someone might see you. If you don't know who you're with... anyone could possibly be a Negaverse soldier, or a dark mirror senshi. Obviously not others who are already powered up but... I mean. If someone else was around and you didn't see them... alright, I'm being a bit paranoid, I suppose." He smiled and laughed at himself. "But don't worry, if you're new, I'm more than willing to help you out a bit. If you have questions."

"Thank you... For being understanding." Meru wasn't sure of the feeling she was getting from Camelot, but she had a feeling that he could be trusted, that he was 'good'. It was definitely different from the feeling she had the first evening when she met a certain young DMS.
Meru followed him when he motioned for her to walk. She listened to the things he said and nodded. "That's understandable. I know that I can sort of sense people when I'm 'Meru', but that doesn't follow through when I'm just... Normal, right? Though I guess I should be more paranoid too. I have to admit, I was just exciting seeing you."
There was a moment of awkward silence while Meru walked with Camelot and just thought. It was a while before she spoke. "I'm actually not sure what to ask. I don't even know where to start, really. Everything that has to do with... This 'world' confuses me." Meru knew that she could summon her ring and power up as well as her enhanced abilities as 'Meru', but there was one thing that kept popping up.
"Why... Why any of this? Why me?" Meru definitely knew it was a broad question, but besides that, she wasn't able to formulate any questions.

Camelot couldn't help but smile bashfully at that. The idea that someone would be excited to see him was a silly one to him, and it made him feel awkward and goofy. Of course, that was pretty easy to do to him. Though he had made leaps and bounds in his confidence since becoming a knight, he was still Tony Darrow. A goof ball.
Who was not the best in social settings.
He glanced at her when she spoke, tilting his head to the side as he considered her words.
"Well. That is a difficult thing to really understand, for everyone. It's different, I think, depending on... well. For knights, things are strange. We are only just beginning to understand what binds us, because we only recently started to awaken here. I think Senshi have been around longer, and they have a very connected history. I think an Eternal senshi might be able to explain that better than I can, however. In any case, I feel like our powers are given to us because we hold a capacity for something good. To serve those that need us, or save the world, or... save a cat from a tree. The potential to impact lives in lasting and meaningful ways, and make this world better for it. Chaos, which fuels the Negaverse and the Dark Senshi, cuts that potential off, and twists the heart. I guess I feel like all of us, regardless of what side we awaken to, have this potential, and it's Chaos that forces us to waste our time fighting one another."
He paused, realizing he was just babbling his thoughts as they occurred to him. He looked at her and blinked, then walked into a fire hydrant and let out a surprised yelp.

Meru listened carefully to Camelot's words. It wasn't much, but at least it was something. Something was always better than nothing.
Everything was really weird to Leonora. Did she want to be a part of all of this? She knew she was meant to be here, but having to dig deeper to a reason why it would be so would be rather difficult. There wasn't much that she could do be sides explore and talk to others right?
At least now Meru wasn't avoiding this kind of life and instead accepting it little by little. She was slightly confused about how they were considered 'good' and how the... Chaos was considered 'bad' minus the name of the group. He did seem, however, very neutral. Would she end up being someone like that?
Despite Camelot's babbling, Meru did have her chance to think and place things together. "So that means... I have to find that reason, right?" It was an odd partial solution to what she had asked him earlier, but at least it somewhat made sense.
"So... Just to help me get started... What brought you into all of this? What makes you stay a part of all of this?"Lithia_Brandon ((Sorry for taking forever! Camelot, feeling sheepish about running into the fire hydrant but trying to hide that embarrassment as best he could, cleared his throat and looked at her with as much poise as he could muster. Which was not much, with his shoulders hunched and his eyes brimming with awkwardness.
His timid, guilty smile didn't help either.
"You do," he said, scratching the back of his neck a bit. "And most of the time, it comes when you don't expect it, and when you're not really looking. You'll see something, or hear something, or just feel it, but it will resonate so deeply that you'll understand. None of this happens without a reason, sometimes it just takes longer for us to find those reasons than we want, or need."
He pondered her question for a bit. It was a complicated story, as he had been involved in the war for a long time before he'd ever powered up, and he felt a deep bond with senshi for all the times they had saved him. He was returning the favor, some times. But more than that, he was protecting those that could not protect themselves.
"I fight because I believe there is a way to end this war without the constant losses that each side must endure. I know that if we keep searching, we'll find a way to banish Chaos itself, and spare the lives of those under its influence."

Meru thought Camelot looked and acted a bit odd, but didn't mind it at all. She just gave him a warm smile. She knew that what she had asked was a loaded question, and wouldn't expect the best answer in the world.
But his answers helped her a lot, calming her spirit about why she was here.
As he talked, Meru listened, analyzing what Camelot and comparing to how she felt. She knew she was in a war, but she had never wanted to fight. Even on the first night she powered up, she hadn't fought. In fact, she had been saved by someone whom was supposed to be 'bad'.
Was it weird that she didn't believe that just because they were Chaos aligned, they were not bad people? Maybe not... All of them? Meru made a face with these ideas, but she felt it was better if she kept these ideas to herself, unsure of how Camelot would feel.
"I'm really glad I ran into you tonight. Not just the fact that you're powered up, but being someone good to talk to and understand." Meru took a deep breath, trying to compose herself better. "It's just so much, and you've been through so much more. It's interesting and informative to know how you're dealing with it all."

Camelot offered her a smile and nodded his head, looking a little bashful but glad he could help her in some small way, even just by talking. In fact, that was generally his chosen method for helping people, and he was glad when things didn't devolve into violence, be it when he was talking to someone on the Chaos team, someone who supported them, or by random youma interruption.
"I'm glad I could help, and if you ever need to talk to anyone, or if you need help, just come find me at the library."
That was the best place to find him, unless she knew a knight who could send him a note through their signets. He did not mind, either way, and would come to help whenever summoned. He was meant to be a force of good, after all.
"I'm always around, and I might not be the most useful, to everyone, but I have some experience and I'm willing to share. Or train. Or accompany you on patrols if you need the back up. I'm a knight in your service, and for any senshi that needs it." He smiled and chuckled, nodding his head in a slight bow and, though he was being a little silly about it, he meant it.

Meru made a mental note of that. "Library.. Okay I'll try to remember that!" Well, it wouldn't be too hard to remember where, but more so the name to the face. She was good with faces, not names.
She couldn't help but bow her head in response to Camelot's bow. "Thank you for all your time tonight... Now I should find a good place to.. Go back to normal and go home!" Meru could somewhat sense Camelot, so she should just really run around until she didn't feel anyone? Okay, so she wasn't sure, but she'd figure it out. Hopefully she wouldn't run into more trouble.
"Have a good night and take care!" Meru waved at him before taking off in a direction towards home.Lithiasaur (( Old, thread is old... Really just wanting to close out old RPs and give you the chance to post if you want XD Sorry again! ))
