Rosc sat in his desk chair, his feet propped up on his desk and crossed at the ankles. Normally he might have been tapping a foot to a beat only he could hear, but not right now. Sure, he was relaxed, but it was mostly so that he could focus.
He'd been getting better at his abilities over this year, slowly, but surely. He'd been able to work on probably the most important of all incubi/succubi abilities, namely being able to alter his appearance to something that could inspire what he fed on, and that was whatever his prey wanted him to look like.

But he wasn't working on changing what he looked like based on someone else, he was trying to... to make himself look like he should have. Taking the bloodstains from his wing had been easy, that was just taking the blood off it. Adding to his eyes wasn't that difficult, either, at least to an extent. He knew the illusions were there, flickering in the empty sockets, but what they lacked was color. He wasn't even sure if they were visible. For all he knew, they were black and no one would be able to see them against the hollow holes in his face.

So Rosc sat there, eyes closed as he tried to pick through his memory. It had been so long, he had forgotten what most colors looked like. He remembered red, it was a really hard color to forget, but he didn't want that color. If he couldn't get this right, he'd just give it up and stick with the dark glasses he had bought. He was probably going to wear them anyway until he got a hang of this, but he'd rather have the practice.

Blue, that's what he was going for. And that was a far more difficult color to remember. He remembered red, black and gray like the sky, he thought he might remember orange... Maybe. Didn't Nic say that his father had liked orange? Or was it green... It didn't matter, he didn't think he would remember that and he wasn't trying to.
No, he was searching his memory, trying his hardest to remember the color of his mother's eyes, the color of his eyes.

Sin was excited, Rosc had sent her a message saying he had passed his exam which put them both in their second year at Amityville. Of course Sin should have been on to her third year studies by now, but thanks to her parents yanking her out of school she wasn't. Yet she couldn't bring herself to feel much anger over it anymore, what was done was done and she was back despite it all. She finished slipping into a backless black dress and ran her brush through her hair until it gleamed. Even if Rosc couldn't really see it she would never want to venture from her room looking less than perfect. She slipped her eyephone into her purse and gave the mirror one more steady look before smiling and heading out.

When she reached Rosc's door she hesitated a moment, she always felt awkward knocking, but she was afraid of startling him if she just slipped in. The same reason she held back when she wanted to run her fingers down his back, stroke those soft white feather, the same reason she tried not to touch his face or let her nails get too close to to his cheeks or eyes. She wanted him to feel relaxed around her, wanted his trust…so she lifted her hand and knocked softly though she was fairly certain he expected her.

The knock made his concentration slip away, but he'd expected it. He'd told Sin to come by whenever she wanted to, but that didn't mean it wasn't a surprise. He hadn't known when she'd come exactly, after all. Rosc reached out, picking up the dark glasses and putting them on as he glanced over, watching Ban run to the door and jump about excitedly, her dust tail whipping back and forth as she yipped and pawed at the door. It pleased him to see that at least some of his pets had grown attached to Sin. There were still some who were ambivalent, but then those ones tended to be that way with everyone.

"It's open," he said, snapping his fingers at Ban. Needless to say, she stopped jumping, gave him what was no doubt something of a glare, and then returned her attention to the door, waiting to jump up on Sin as soon as she opened the door.

She could hear the soft scritching at the door and smiled faintly, it was nice that some of Rosc's mini's had taken a liking to her…well most of the time. Of course Pantaloons and Ladyluv had taken quite a liking to Rosc as well and they displayed their affection for him by bringing her his underthings which was why she tried to keep them out of his room…well that and how much they enjoyed tormenting his minipets. She slipped in and closed the door quietly smiling when she saw him and then looking slightly startled. She had grown used to his blindfold, the one time she'd caught him without had been followed by quite the fight, a revelation of his identity that they had luckily managed to get past. She slowly turned around to give him time to put his blindfold back on and crossed her arms to tamp down her urge to rush over and hug him. Her wings gave an impatient twitch before she folded them neatly against her back. They had grown quite a bit, but she still wasn't quite brave enough to try flying with them despite her parents assurances that of course she could.

"I'm sorry, I was just so excited I wanted to come as soon as I could."

"I did tell you to come in..." Rosc's voice sounded confused, why had she turned around? It took a moment to realize... he hadn't let her see him without something more substantial over his eyes. The glasses were obviously nothing in comparison to his blindfold, no matter how effective they were in completely hiding his eyes, but for a strange, dark glow.

He was silent as he moved and was suddenly behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Don't like the glasses?" Honestly, he didn't think she minded them, just that she was surprised. He needed to work on showing her how much she meant to him more often. He trusted her now, with pretty much everything at this point.
His good wing wrapped around his side and he brushed at her with his feathers. Ban was still jumping up, begging for pettings.
"Ban, stop," he sort of growled at his pet. He wanted Sin's attention, she could get attention when he was done holding his ghoulfriend. Such a needy trickster.

"Yes?" She answered slightly confused and then surprised when she felt his arms move around her. She smiled and twisted to brush her lips over his jaw in a soft kiss. Then she realized, oh…he was wearing dark glasses….and in the dim of the room she hadn't even noticed. She tilted her head and then grinned and turned to move her hands on his hips in her usual half hug.

"You look quite spooky. I love them but why the new style?" She glanced down at Ban with a smile and then laughed at Rosc's growl before giving him a quick kiss and ducking to ruffle Ban's fur softly.

Her nails ran through the soft fur and she stroked her ears a moment longer before straightening and putting her hands on Rosc's shoulders. "Clearly she's starved for attention." She smirked and tried to keep from laughing as his feathers tickled along her side, that's what she got for wearing a backless dress.

Rosc shrugged.
"I blame you. Besides, I'm getting better with certain things so..." he trailed off there, giving her a kiss. Or trying to at least, for as soon as he started to lean forward, she ducked down to give his blasted coyote a pat and a scratch. And oh was Ban smug about that one, she flashed her cheeky grin up at him while her tail waved back and forth.
But then Sin was back and her hands on his shoulders.

"You spoil them," he shot back, pulling her close and giving her that kiss. He'd passed his exam, he was getting better at his illusions and his healing, and he had a drop-dead gorgeous ghoul in his arms who was likely as proud of him as he was (No matter how dumb his exam had been). He was definitely in a good mood.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:59 pm

"I am happy to be blamed if it means your going to continue to improve on your already good looks…then again too much improvement might be bad for me soon all the other ghouls will notice I've been keeping the most handsome boil to myself. What are you getting better with?" She asked confused and then smiling and deciding not to press any further.

It wasn't that Rosc was secretive he was simply uncomfortable sometimes and she had to rein in her natural nosiness and desire to interfere. Her father had admitted that her mother had certainly tried to shape him, but she had a feeling that no matter how much mother prided herself on the demon her father was he'd have managed just as well left to his own devices. She was fairly certain the same was true of Rosc, if she just gave him some space he would come around, no need to try and mold him like putty. She smiled as he kissed her and her hands tightened slightly on his shoulders her fingers twitching with the desire to finish wrapping around him and give him a real hug. She was so excited for him, as excited as she'd been when she passed her own exam.

"Yes well…that's what minipets are for, spoiling." She laughed and then looked up at him. "I know your not a huge fan of crowds so I won't suggest we go out to celebrate your exam success, but surely we have to do something special!"

"Here, I'll show you," Rosc said, feeling just a little nervous, but still he pulled her over to his bed and put his hands on her shoulders to have her sit down. His hand moved over to the lamp on the bedside table, holding still as he felt for warmth. There was none, so he turned it on, lighting up the room more. Ban ran over and jumped onto the bed, setting her head in Sin's lap while Rosc sat down on Sin's other side. In the light, it was now clear that while the feathers on his wing were still torn and missing far too many to ever be able to fly, they were no longer stained. They were the perfect shade of white like their brethren.

"I need your help anyway, mirrors won't work,"
he added with a dismissive wave of his hand before dipping his head slightly, touching the side of his glasses. He froze in the action for a moment before taking them off and tipping his head back up, his eyelids snapping open. Where eyes should have been were just black holes. The left eye looked fine around the empty socket, but it was obvious that there had been some trouble with the right. He had a scar on his eyelid as it had been torn down the center in the struggle, and several more on his cheek just below it, nail-shaped crescents and thin lines.

Inside the sockets, however, were faint glowing orbs. They moved like a pupil/iris would as he intended for them to, but as he had figured he had gotten the color wrong. They were colored, yes, and they were even a shade of blue, but rather than being the bright color that he'd been intending they were the deepest shade of midnight, almost blending into the black in which they were set. He would need her help if he was going to get them right.
He waited to see what she would say.

She blinked and moved smiling to sit down and grateful when he turned the lamp on, she knew the lack of light didn't bother him and with enough time in his room her own eyes kicked in and let her see alright but the transition between walking from the hallway in always gave her some trouble. One hand moved over Ban is soft idle strokes but the movement abruptly stopped when she noticed his wing. The blood was gone, she almost reached out to touch wondering if it meant he was healing if maybe someday he wouldn't have it whole again. She quickly drew her hand back and tried to keep from looking so shocked, she forced her lips into a softer smile.

"Your wing…it looks like it's healing up." And then she really had to keep from looking shocked as he took off the dark glasses. What did he need her help with? She was worried for a moment when he froze and then tugged Ban fully into her lap and held the little trickster close to keep her hands occupied. It was her first chance to really see Rosc's eyes, or the lack thereof. She tried to keep her expression neutral but her eyes were tracing every faint scar, the details of his sockets, the strange dark orbs there…false eyes. She wanted so badly to kiss each scar, to stroke the marks on his cheek, the fact that it had been done so long ago made it worse, he'd just been a little scareling. Instead she used her long honed skills and kept her expression smooth. She finally managed a smile and tilted her head trying to keep her voice from sounding sympathetic, pity would probably made him cover back up and she had never had a chance to see him like this.

"They're a bit dark…" She murmured, an illusion…which meant his wing…was probably an illusion as well no healing there. Eyes, this was about his desire for eyes and he wanted her help? "What can I do?" She asked curiously, illusions weren't exactly her specialty.

"No, it's not healing, but I'm glad to know I got that right," Rosc replied, setting the glasses on the endtable and leaning back, propping himself up on his arms.
"Damn, they're not supposed to be dark...." It was more to himself than to her, but his brow creased in concentration.

"It's hard, it's been a long time. Trying to remember a single color when you haven't seen them in so long is a pain in the a**." The soft orbs flicked over to Sin, he was looking at her. And that was why he intended to still wear the glasses. As much as he wanted to have proper eyes again and show them off, he had actually gotten used to having the advantage of people not knowing where he was looking. Besides, the empty sockets were still pretty obvious.

"I want to get the color right, but I won't be able to tell." He sat up straighter, so that he could reach the table again and opened a drawer. From within, he withdrew something he wasn't even sure why he still kept. It was a picture, framed in ornate silver, which he handed to her with care.

A couple sat on a bench made of stone crafted by an artisan's hand, a huge black tree growing up from beside them. The woman was darkly tan, her hair black as pitch fading down to a bright blue at the tips, black feathered wings folded behind her, her feet daintily tucked up at her side. She was leaning on the man who had his arms wrapped securely around her; he was pale and blond, hair falling to his shoulders in feathery layers, his eyes a sharp amber color, ears pointed.
Both were absolutely stunning in their beauty, the demon's allure somewhat wilder than the demoness, but appeared tamed by her hand. The demoness had eyes matching the bottom of her hair, eyes that almost glowed with how happy she looked.
If it wasn't painfully obvious who the couple was, the golden bracer around the demon's left forearm certainly was a dead giveaway, since Rosc was currently wearing it, his dark gray t-s**t not hiding it like his jacket normally would.

"I'm not going for dark blue."
His voice was soft as he said it, having only a vague idea of what the picture looked like from the description Nic had once given him.

Sin ran her fingers through Ban's fur and lowered her eyes to the trickster to keep from staring at Rosc anymore. Her forced smile vanished and she pressed her lips tightly together when he spoke of color. She had tried to imagine often everything being drained of it's color and she found it difficult. Not only was it hard to imagine but when she did manage to imagine it she disliked it very much for the most foolish and vain reason…she was fairly certain that leeched of color she wasn't very pretty at all. The careful pale violet color of her skin maintained so evenly, the dark makeup she used to enhance her yellow eyes, and the care she took in picking out clothing that complimented and contrasted her natural color all of it was lost on Rosc. She glanced at him and nodded slowly trying to ensure that when she spoke her voice wouldn't crack.

"Of course…I'll help…" She watched curiously as he opened a drawer and pulled out a framed picture. She moved her hands off of Ban and took it carefully noticing right away who the couple was. She'd never seen Rosc's parents before but it was so obvious only a couple like this could produce such a fair handsome incubus. Her finger carefully traces the outline of the female, Rosc's mother…and with such startling blue eyes. She thought of her friend Alcie, a water demon who had worn every shade of blue in the maul…but nothing quite compared to this pale gleaming shade.

"Your mother is so beautiful…" She murmured softly and then bit her lip and looked at him uncertainly. Was…his mother was was beautiful she was sadly no longer alive. Hopefully she hadn't offended, she looked back down at the picture and smiled slightly at the demon. Rosc looked quite a bit like his father with such pale coloration, it was tragic that they should be gone and Rosc left with the scars and distant memories all because of someone disapproving of their love. She'd seen it before of course, the Err family had disapproved of many unfortunate matches over the centuries, but they had never needed to be violent. The cure for an un-approved romantic pairing had always been public shaming, shunning, and tearful theatrics, a symphony of manipulation that ended with the pair separated and quickly married off to more appropriate matches never to see each other again.

She lowered the picture and then carefully handed it back to him refraining from asking him why he didn't display it. It would be a sore reminder for him, instead she nodded and leaned into him slightly her hand trailing to slowly rest on his leg.

She knew exactly what color he wanted, the perfect shade of blue, the color he ought to have. "I'll tell you when it's right."

He wasn't sure why her voice had taken on the quality it had, if it was because she was taking on a bit of his pain or if... Well, he hoped it was the first, since while he agreed that his mother had been a very beautiful demoness, Sin had no reason to ever try to compare herself to anyone else, not in his eyes.

"You're so beautiful, too," he replied and kissed her cheek as he took the picture back and returned it to the drawer. If she had asked, he would have just shrugged. A picture was useless if the owner couldn't see it, wasn't it? But having it... Maybe he just liked having it and didn't want to risk sharing it with anyone else unless he wanted to.

He gave her a smile and settled back again, pressing his palms to the bed as he leaned back, lines forming on his forehead as he frowned in concentration. The orbs flickered as he tried changing them and for a moment they got darker before they started growing lighter. For moment they started turning purple, but then back to blue, waving back and forth between getting lighter and getting darker like a pendulum swing, though each time they grew lighter.
"Still blue?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 30, 2013 3:33 pm

She smiled and moved closer to him flattered, she didn't feel she could quite match the beauty in the picture, but she was glad that Rosc found her attractive. She hoped someday she would have the beauty, confidence, and frightening abilities of her mother. His kiss made her relax, this was probably hard for him but he wasn't tense so she shouldn't be either.

She leaned on one arm and drew her legs up onto the bed letting her dress drape over the edge while he settled himself. Her eyes focused on his and she had to tamp down the desire to grin, she'd never had a chance like this to just lock gazes. She leaned in a bit and shook her head when they darkened and then smiled and nodded encouraging as they became lighter. "No…yes closer…no too dark…lighter…" They went along like that and she nodded softly when he asked if they were still blue.

"Yes, but the shade isn't quite light enough…" She was tempted to ask him to try purple again but she knew he wouldn't know the color anyway, no way for her to explain that it was her color.

The more they tried, the more his brow creased in concentration. It was hard, pushing lighter or darker when he didn't have a clue what either really meant. His eyes finally closed and he pressed a hand to his forehead, growing frustrated. He couldn't remember, it had been too long and... and it hurt. The first thing he remembered seeing in this world was his mother's face, and yet he had forgotten the color of her eyes.

"Give me a second," he said when he knew she wanted to ask him what was wrong. His voice was hoarse, choked with his frustration and his grief. He had forgotten everything. The colors in her face, the sound of her voice, the song she would sing with his father to lull him to sleep. Jack did it hurt.

He opened his eyes again and they were finally right. Rosc looked to Sin, a look on his face that was equal parts fatigue and hope, and perhaps even a little bit of the sadness he was currently feeling.
"Well?"
