Age: Seventeen
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Candidate
Personality: One of Lanae's strongest traits is her ability to bounce back from things; if they even affect her, that is. She has a tendency to either be unaffected or barely affected by verbal attacks, no matter how poisonous the barb. On the occasion that she does cry, she recovers quickly, and unless you'd seen her crying, you probably wouldn't know she'd cried at all. She lives to forgive and forget, although no one can ever really fully live up to that. Even so, she's not one to hold grudges or make venomous comments, working towards being a pleasant person that everyone can get along with. Or most everyone, more realistically, because you can't please every person on Pern. That'd require being rather two-faced...or four-faced...or something else complicated she'd rather not consider.
Unfortunately, Lanae is also rather simplistic. Complicated things don't appeal to her, and if it isn't straightforward or clear, she'd rather not deal with it. At times, this makes it difficult to teach her things or get her to participate in certain activities, although she's been pushing herself more each sevenday to get past the problem she has presented herself with. As a child, it was assumed she was a perfectionist, although that was soon tossed and it was decided she was just lazy. Which she vehemently denied, because it wasn't like she didn't want to do anything; it was just that she didn't want to do anything complicated. This, perhaps, could be rooted with her hesitance to try new things out of fear of messing them up. Lanae doesn't enjoy putting herself on the spot for criticism, but like her avoidance of complicated things, she's working on changing herself.
History: There's really nothing extraordinary that Lanae has noted in her raising, being raised primarily by her two elder sisters until around her thirteenth, when she grew a bit more independent. She was first Searched around her fifteenth, and has yet to Impress. Her hopes lie with the right match existing out there for both herself and a dragon, and she remains optimistic. Most of the time, when she's not doing typical Candidate things, she can be found helping with the younger Weyrbrats of Igen or attempting to learn more of Weavercraft from any passing journey(wo)men.
Appearance: Starting at the top, short, mousey-brown hair that resembles a mop most of the time can be found atop Lanae's head. Not long ago, she had longer hair, that went to her waist. However, long hair became a problem to keep, so she had it cut off to her shoulders, then "trimmed it a bit" from there. She has pale peachy skin that, despite a large amount of time spent trying to tan, only has a slight tint to it. Her figure is feminine and curved, but she still has a bit of childish roundness to her features that is slimming out between work and age. Hazel eyes have flecks of green and gold in them, and a small splatter of freckles goes across her cheeks right under her eyes, growing lighter as they go out. Lanae stands at 5'8", her muscles not defined very well, but definitely there.
Other: To summarize; strengths are easy-going and pleasant and flaws are simplistic and hesitant. One day, she'll be a stronger person; that's her goal.
