Varkas is originally from the rich part of the Rukon, His family were well known shinigami that had always specialized in Lightning and electricity based Zanpakuto. Varkas, like his brothers and sisters went to the academy and trained to become a member of the 13 court Guard squads. When he Graduated he wasnt immediately accepted into the 13 Court Guard Squads, though after applying a second time he made it into squad 4. He spent many years in Squad 4 and slowly climbed the ladder to become a Lieutenant. Though his position was short lived.
Varkas was a great member in Squad 4, His healing techniques were quite good, He was able to use his own Reiatsu to Numb the persons body to help relieve pain and work on mending the wounds. After a few years of service in Squad 4 Varkas was sent with a Team to investigate an attack on a group of shinigami stationed in Karakura. When he got there there were no shinigami to be seen. Instead, Varkas was attacked by Many hollows. During the Battle Varkas was knocked unconscious. He woke some time later in the vast Desert of Hueco Mundo. He has no memory of what happened to him during the time he was unconscious, all he remembers are the event that happened to him before the battle. He is now a Visored, though, It is still unknown to him that he is one.

Zanpakuto Name: Yūgana raijin { Graceful Thunder God}
Zanpakuto Appearance: Sealed FormIn its sealed form Yūgana raijin is a Yellow colored Katana with '雷' The Kanji for thunder on the Guard. When Drawn there is a plug like tip at the base of the 'blade' Nathaniel then activates his Zanpakuto and the electricity create a blade as sharp as any steel, and as solid too.

Inner World: Varkas' Inner world is a Large barren wasteland that seem's endless, a couple of dead tree's standing here and there. Above in the sky large thunderclouds flash endlessly.
Special Sealed Abilities:
If Varkas is hit by a Lightning element attack or Kido it will boost his own strength slightly. he can then Release it in the form of another Kido, boosting the effect of the Kido.

Incantation: Strike from the heavens above, Yūgana raijin

Zanpakuto Special Ability:
Yūgana raijin, When released causes large thunder clouds to appear. The clouds begin to produce a large amount of thunder and electrical energy which increases Nathaniel's Attack power, Though it also increases any Electrical based abilities and Kido, belonging to Nathaniel or not.
Special Techniques:
1• Kaminari no tane {Thunder Seeds}; Nathaniel summons Six balls of electricity which constantly fly around him, These Seeds stop people from engaging him in close combat since if a person/hollow/Shinigami are hit with them then it equals being struck by lightning.
2• Saite raimei {Thundering Bloom}; By sacrificing three of his seeds Nathaniel is able to create a Much larger seed which then shoots forward in many 'roots' and tries to entangle the foe, as well as electrocute them.
3• Raijin wa warau {The Thunder God Laughs}; This is Nathaniels most favored move, Nathaniel is able to move as fast as the lightning itself for a brief period of time. The result is a complete clone made by an after image which is brought to life by lighting. If the clone is slashed it sends a shock up the opponents blade that would numb them slightly causing them to stagger, but if it is his with an Energy type attack I.e Kido, It explodes and causes damage to anything near.
