He was growing bored; which was never a good thing.
Kuma Pau'a sighed, his ears pinning back lightly as he paced in the underwater cavern that was his treasure cave. And his home. He had piles of treasure; from pots colored gold, to threads, clothing that he had taken. Even some soft silvers and coppers. Some of the articles were just things he found fascinating, and in that, took to be his own. He glanced down at the dark water, before shaking his head slowly, staring down at it with anger in his eyes. He hate being bored. And he was starting to grow lonely. As much as his treasure was his company, Kuma hadn't had a decent conversation with another Soquili in... what felt like ages. He paced quietly in front of the water, his long tail giving a slight flick, before he started down into the depths. He easily moved down through the water, swimming quickly, his tail beating every now and then. He exited the underwater cave, before heading up toward the surface, where he walked onto the land, and shook of a bit of his excess water.
The stallion walked quietly around, his hooves crushing bits of grass and wood beneath him. He easily moved between the trees, having found a sort of grace, a swimming motion, to it. He paused after a second, his eyes lingering on the path ahead of him, before he glanced around. Nothing was really happening. It was too quiet. He sighed, frowning, eyebrows pulling together. He hadn't even heard of any good treasure around here. He was going mad with the need to do something... anything. He tilted his head curiously, letting his eyes flicker down along the forest path. Something caught his eye; a different color that wasn't natural to the forest.
Gold.
A grin formed on his features, and the stallion started to move slowly forward, his head lowering a fraction of a degree, his body moving with liquid grace. He was going to find something today, and he was going to take it home and spruce it up, make it shiny. Make it his. Kuma let his tail flick lightly, before he moved forward at another angle. A frown formed on his features though, and he stopped his movements. Was the gold moving? Confusion entered his eyes, and he moved a bit faster, allowing his body to stay hidden as well as possible. What was this nonsense? As he got closer, the stallion realized it was another horse. Kuma arched his brow, his body halting all movements for several seconds, before his head tilted to the side. What was he going to do with this creature? He couldn't steal a Soquili, could he? Pausing in thought, the stallion grinned. Of course he could. Kuma wanted gold, and he was going to get it, one way or another.

Free at last! Finally! The mare tossed her head up in the air, her mane flying wildly through the air as a wide grin tugged at the corners of her mouth. Quickly, however, she regained her composure. Peering over her shoulders to make sure no one caught sight of her wild side, the mare sighed when she saw no one to hold the incident against her. Whew. With a slightly smaller grin, she arched her sleek neck and tucked her small head as she pranced among the trees and grass of the swampy forest. Contrasting the dark, dirty swampland, the golden mare held an aura of grace and beauty that stuck out long a rose amongst the thorns. With these appearances a certain expectations were held for her behaviors.
A soft snort escaped the mare as her once clean orange hooves began to turn a dark brown from the mud that covered them. Her muzzle wrinkled slightly from the feeling of the mud clumping in the hair around her fetlocks. Tossing her braided mane, the mare held her long tail up as much as she could, but there was no hope for it. Mud had already began to form small clumps in the tips of the hairs. That would be a pain to get out later on, but at least the feathers were fine.
Aurelia peered around the eery looking swamp with a soft sigh. Sure she should be afraid of what lurked just beyond her sight, or of what lurked just beneath the water, but the mare wasn't afraid. Her father was a strong and brave stallion and it seemed Aurelia had inherited some of his bravery... or perhaps stupidity? The sound of a disturbance among the water caused the mare's ears to twitch back towards the sound, but she paid no mind to it. Surely it was just a frog or creature jumping in the water or emerging from it.

Watching the shift of gold ahead of him, Kuma Pau`a blinked, following the motion with his eyes. The stallion was curious; what was this. Why was she out within swamps. Something so... attractive. He blinked, tilted his head to the side, before taking slow steps forward, his motions quiet and stealthy. Her pelt was gold, with accents of white, black and brown. The pattern was catchy on the eyes, easy to follow and track. Her hair was a soft, sandy brown and white color, and was also something he eagerly wanted in his possession. She was golden, and he wanted the treasure to be his own.
Moving forward carefully, the stallion moved around to the side. He frowned some when he saw her seeming to be disgusted with the way the mud clung to her hooves and fur. Well, perhaps he could have a method to help her with this. Grinning, almost darkly, the stallion lurked for a moment. He shifted slowly and then came out from the water, around her back, and moved forward with slow steps, eyes flickering down toward her tail and hooves. He shook out his head, before shifting some and let his features calm somewhat. Allowed himself to relax and appear full of innocence and ease.
"What is such a lovely creature doing wandering these areas?" He asked, voice smooth and calm. He stepped forward and let his eyes linger at her hooves for a moment, and then looked back up toward her features. "I know of a clean stream not far from here, one that you could use to get the mud out... I can help, as well, if you like." Kuma stated, smiling at her easily, eyes curious.

Due to a pesky fly, a snort escaped the petite mare and a frown formed on her pretty little face. It was an expression she rarely used, but oh how this place disgusted her! A huff escaped as she trudged through the mud and only seemed to be adding clumps to the once clean hair around her hooves. Golden eyes scanned the landscape before her as she attempted to find the cleanest route out of the swampy lands. Her light brown ears flicked back and forth once more as another fly buzzed past her ear. She now made a mental note to avoid any places that appeared dark and grimy like this hell hole.
Although she maintained her composure, the mare couldn't help but want to run as fast as she could out of the horrible place. Perhaps she wasn't ready to take on the world alone... No! She would never admit to such thoughts. She was a strong mare. A beautiful mare. A mare that didn't need help from her family. The story of this awful place would be kept a secret from anyone and everyone. If her father found out he would merely chuckle at her and tell her how she should have listened. Dark places were to be avoided. Leaving the 'nest' was not nearly as simple as the mare once assumed. An over abundance of pride prevented the mare from asking for help from her family and friends. If they could take on the world alone then so could she.
Her thoughts had clouded her ability to focus on what surrounded her, so when the stallion spoke up, a jolt ran through the mare which caused her to jump and quickly turn towards the stallion. With a defensive stance, she took in his features, paying close attention to detail. Sure he had sharper teeth, but overall he seemed harmless enough. Finally, the mare dared to speak with a calm and comforting voice, "I am merely scouting the area... becoming acquainted with my surroundings." Aurelia was quick to note the complement and smiled as her eyelashes fluttered slightly as he offered to assist her. "Oh that would be so wonderful if you would help. I must ask you, though... Why is such a handsome stallion like you lurking in such a muddy and dark place?" Her guard was up now, but Aurelia didn't allow it to show in her features even in the slightest.

It wasn't often that Kuma was out and about, and this time, he seemed to have struck a goldmine. He smirked lightly to himself, a chuckle forming in his throat, though he quickly hushed it down with a flick of his long tail. His eyes lifted to watch the mare carefully, though he seemed all the more the polite gentleman on the outside. With a tilt of his head, he smiled toward her, not caring about his sharp teeth. Kelpi liked to eat fish, after all. For a moment, he debated on charging her. He was large, naturally, and could probably take her down, but he didn't want to hurt someone with such a lovely gold coat. And that mud really was ruining it; even for him. He frowned at the thought, before shaking it from his mind and took a half step forward. He had to move slowly, or else startle her. And he didn't want that, now did he? If she got scared and bolted, he would have to act... And acting like that would cause far too much damage to her than he liked.
"Scouting? In the swamps? Well, that just doesn't seem right to me. Such a fair mare should be pampered to and treated like a gem, not sent to trudge in the slimes." Kuma commented, his ears perked. He sighed lightly at the thought, before shaking his head. This poor treasure really was sent to the wrong spot. But it was perfect for him. Playing the worried hero, he moved forward cautiously, aiming not to startle her. "Come, let's get you cleaned up and out of this mess. For a Kelpi like me, it's easy. But you don't bare the waterproof coat that we do. Poor thing." He said, tsking under his breath. His fins laid flat against his form, not flared as they were when excited or alarmed. He smiled at her once more, before moving forward and past her with ease, heading toward the nearest exit of the swamps, and the closest streams.
Kuma Pau'a wasn't the nicest of stallions. On the contrary, he was a treasure hunter, and as such, he got what he wanted. Well, this mare, with her golden pelt and exquisite appearance was something he could latch to. A grin formed over his features as he led the way, tail flicking occasionally and his ears pointed back to listen to her. He had to make sure she was following, after all. He tilted his head lightly to peer over his shoulder, bright eyes locked on her form. "I'm Kuma Pau'a. Though you can just call me Kuma, if you like. What are you called, miss?" Yes, play the polite role. But when the time was right; when her guard was down, he would strike.
