Elune stood below her great old oak tree that had been her home, and her guiding branch for all her life. Winter had taken it's green and left it with a naked and cold look. No tree but this, could ever be her true home. During the cold seasons, she did move to a different grove of evergreens. This was just a visit to let her oak know she was still near. A spiritual connection was set aside for the wise tree. If it could speak, it would tell of a foal that was left in it's root, and kept safe from harm. Despite being raised by no parent, the forest guided her and helped her survive. Skinwalker nor kalona came near her. Only the forest spirits could of kept her so safe. The tree was both her father, and her mother, in a sense. The birds and the squirrels, her faithful friends. The moon, her guiding light. Elune was no tree hugger. She was so much more. Elune was a child of the forest.
Looking to the tree, she sang a short song with a sweet velvet voice that seemed to soothe the air itself.
Blessed am I to know you oh forest Knowing the trees and your warmth This has shown me, you are merciful Come sweet winter, soon you'll be away Let the evergreens keep me safe til then.
With this she turned from her oak and headed back to the safety of the dense evergreens. This area of the forest was empty, and quiet. Elune hummed softly as she parted and went away.
The are where she rested during winter, was only a half a day away, further into a second heart of the forest. A second heart being that it was just as deep and secluded as the area where she spent the rest of the year. A forest had many hearts, if one set out to find them.
Reaching another side of the forest, she took a light detour towards a winter berry tree. It would serve as her lunch. Lunch was a relative term for a meal in the middle of the day. For Elune, it was a meal in the middle of the night! Rarely was Elune awake during the day.
Ahead on the path, another was already present. Elune paused and smiled. Be still my wings. she thought as they flitted behind her. She did not want to disturb her company. The cottony powder white rabbit did take notice of her. It's ears twitched and it sat upright on it's hind legs, pausing and checking her out. She could see it's little heart pound in it's chest as it breathed fast. It was not afraid of her though. Settling back on it's front paws, it continued to root around in the ground, trying to forage for food. Elune did not move. The rabbit was there first.
Curiously, the rabbit slowly inched a little closer to Elune, casting side glances at her. He pretended not to be interested in her. It made her heart smile.

Attacus spent another night alone. He hadn't expected it to affect him this much. It had only been a couple of nights ago since he parted ways with his now grown children. His heart ached for his family and the forest that had been his home from his birth. This was the first time he had ever left his home. It had taken more courage and strength than he thought he had to leave. They had decided though that this was the best way though.
Attacus's family was broken. He had not seen or heard from his mate since their children were born. His heart ached for her. He had lost so much in his life, but Attacus had never given up hope. First he lost his parents when he was a foal and he still looked for them in every Soquili he met. Then his mate had changed in front of his eyes to someone he didn't even know, and then left him with their foals. Now again he had to leave his family and home. This was different he kept telling himself. They had made this choice together. Each going separate ways to find Macalania, Attacus's mate. He needed to stay strong and let hope guide him. They would all be reunited soon.
Attacus stayed in the forests through his search. He had left his home, but as long as he was in a forest he still felt safe and welcomed. He gazed up at the moon through a break in the trees. The night was chilly but he tried not to let it bother him. He let the moons light fill him. The moon always made him feel better. "If only I could reach the moon," he thought. And with this he gave himself a shake and shrank down as small as he could. He flew up towards the tree line and the moon. He knew he could not reach the moon and he didn't want to leave the safety of the forest, so he flew back down. He flew for a little while until he saw another flutter mare. Attacus's spirits lifted a bit more. He was glad to see another. He flitted over to her and transformed to his normal size in front of her. "Hello, I'm Attacus. I am glad to see another tonight," He said bowing slightly in greeting.

Elune continued to watch on as the rabbit inched towards her. She smiled as he turned to side glance her for indirect eye contact. She took this moment to lean forward, towards him slowly. It kicked it's white legs to reposition itself facing her, just in case she made any other sudden moves. Her nose stopped a foot away from the little critter. Shallowing her breathing as much as she could, she waited patiently for him to make the next move.
The rabbit gave one long drawn out drag of its body, to move close enough to wriggle its little nose up to Elune's. His whiskers tickled her with delight. He then turned and bolted down the path, in an instinctive way. Curiosity was sated, and it was now time for him to move to safety. With a hearted sigh, she lifted her head and watched him pause in retreat, to look up. Her gaze followed his to the moons light, where a gem of purple and teal glinted in its rays, bobbing between trees. Elune blinked her eyes, trying to be sure of what she was seeing. Before she could make sense of it, a stallion shook out of the glint, and stepped forth in front of her.
Elune gasped. A flutter transformation. She knew of them, but had never seen one. Being of elven descent, her body didn't require her to be in a flutter form. She didn't even know if she could transform. The notion was alien to her, till she had grand kids. Her son had children with a flutter. This was the first she learned of the trait.
With piercing ice white eyes, Elune closed her eyes, and dipped her head. "Great evening to you Attacus. I am Elune." she said with a melodic voice, that hinted at social awkwardness. Almost the same as one who was regal, knew the social niceties, but rarely got a chance to practice them. Though for her, that secluded air to her, added to her allure for most. Why he was glad to see another, she did not know. "Glad I could be here, for you to see then." she beamed with an enticing smile, and a small nod.
