The desert district is boiling hot during the day and bitterly cold at night. (It is still the warmest district even at night; it just feels colder than it is.) The desert district is the recycling plant of the dome. It is the district that still has the most power, and it even has vehicles for transportation. Almost everything is run on solar power off of its artificial sun (AS), which is so intense that it powers the district's ability to smelt down huge quantities of recycling material. For resistance to sun damage the people here have a tendency to perceive things from a great distance. Being such a big open area they are used to dealing with all sorts of odds and ends from sandstorms to any would be raiders, and some think somebody used the serum on a sidewinder and it is big enough to eat a car, although its existence has not been proven. The populace is split down the middle between those who work during the day and those who work and move around at night. Because of the intensity of the AS they avoid its day cycle like a bad cold, or they stay around during the day because they are incapable of seeing in the dark. Most people here are either blacksmiths, electricians, construction foremen, or some form of metal workers. They are quite good with their hands, whether it is fixing or breaking stuff. On the other side of the desert, under the foot of the mountain, there is a small waystation that opens up to the mouth of the Grandstream River. While most things that go through there end up in someone else's pockets, as long as you stick to the merchants and lit main streets you should be fine. Between the waystation town and the recycling town on the far opposite side of the district, there are relay towers for water and shade so that no one crosses the 10 miles in the heat, but most are abandoned because of raiders or supplies getting stuck in the sand.

 coming out of the city going up 3 floors to the furnace floor erebus puts his knife pommel in a slot and looks at the furnace door waiting for it to open... "HEY THE POWERS OUT AGAIN!!"a guy runs over and checks seeing that the box has blown and asking for the knife authenticating it and pulling on the chain and raising the door "the foreman is busy but welcome back, i see your friends dont have regulated grounding, we have just enough spares for them"looking around yall see many people of regular height or extremely short wondering how i came from here "bet yall are wondering why im so tall huh? well look... up there"pointing up 3 floors you see some people carrying huge bags of iron stuff and relaying it to the furnace vats "during my 48 hours i worked up there most of it and just happened to be working down 3 floors keeping a security and raiders happened to attack so here i am an article of battle and work"

Isaac Isaac waited for the dude to come back with the regulation grounding. looking all the way over to the zeppelins he pointed his out, it was a little hard to see but it was there. he hoped the guy came back soon, he didn't like waiting too long, and he couldn't wait to get off the ground. while he was flying he felt the most free and the most alive. ================================================

She listened to Erebus' explanation and just looked on as people worked. "Having to wait at this point is not a good thing. Just saying." Clara looked to Isaac, noticing that he was looking in another direction. She frowned a bit and then decided to focus on the fact that she has missed most of the conversation with he and Erebus. "So, you two go way back or did you just happen upon the flyer as well?"

Isaacisaac turned to clara, this is the first she had spoken up in two miles. "we don't go too far back, i usually just bought rivets from him for our company, i fly and help fix the bigger zeppelins. although we've had lunch together and talked from time to time."================================================

Clara was surprised she had not seen Isaac before. Then again, perhaps she had and she just did not remember and it sounded likehe and Erebus went back far enough and certainly he was unlike her at having just come from the flyer. She liked that he helped with zeppelins. "Sounds like you willy be handy too. It is good to have people of many skills on this mission. We had more, but I guess they got lost on the way." She smiled up at him with a shrug.

She giggled more then. "Not exactly, they just got pulled for other things but should be returning." Clara looked up at him then and patted her bag where her tools were, but where her wrench was protruding. "I am a mechanic! Small world, it would seem."

Isaac"small world? what do you fix? airships?" he asked, puzzled by the weird answer. he doesn't remember seeing her but he's heard some mechanics talk about a really short mechanic. perhaps it was her. ================================================

Isaacit was a little loud and hot in here so when isaac got his hand back he reached under his jacket and pulled his snoopy cap up over his head so that most of it was covered. his head immediately felt cooler and the noise level was reduced somewhat. ================================================

She watched as he grabbed his cap and put it on. That seemed like an ending to the conversation in her book so she did not push on. Besides, there was plenty of time to get on his nerves still. Clara giggled at the thought which then led to questions instead of silence. "So. Which is your airship? I guess you keep good maintenance of it too. Is it big? What engine does it use? Does it still look good or does it need a once over?"
