Parks were weird.
Uuni, and then Myrkviðr, must have walked through this particular place fifty times before, but it had only today struck her as weird. I mean, really, though. Parks are weird.
A city stripped down all its natural trees and forest fauna, built concrete mansions, and then somebody at a fancy stands up and raises their hand. They say, 'You know what would be a great idea? Let's bring in a bunch of trees not from here and give them water so they have a chance at life. And, let's put it right in the middle of the damn city just for the people with allergies.'
How fitting, then, that you could find the weirdest people in the park. Oh, look, there was one on a park bench now, her face dully lit by lamplight. Though, Myrkviðr, couldn't really talk at that given moment. She scratched at an itchy spot under one of her shoulder pads.
Damn, it was ******** cold out tonight. Maybe this weird-outfit wearing person knew something she didn't. That outfit looked pretty warm. Given that she'd probably been caught staring by now, Uuni waggled her fingers in the girl's direction and closed the distance.
She took a seat on the park bench--her feet were getting sore, and the night was positively boring--and flicked her eyes into the surroundings instead of to the girl next to her. "I don't see any others around here, so I'm going to take a wild guess that you're not LARPing."
That meant she either: Didn't bring a change of clothes after a school play, identified with a horrible style movement, her mom gave her those clothes for Christmas and insisted she wore them, had a strange alter-ego, or was from crazytown Mafia Wars 101.

Every time she went out like this she wondered why. She could just stay at home, avoid this life as much as possible. But she needed to know about this, just as much as she wanted to avoid it all. This was a spot she didn't like being stuck in, a need to know and also a need and want to avoid it all.
She'd come to the park, her feet guiding her more than anything else, and a bench seat was taken. The cold didn't bother her much, not with the warm outfit she wore, she found the outfit didn't bother her much when it came to how warm she was. The colors though...those could use some work. She didn't even mind the hair snood, and the beads were very nice. One heel tapped on the ground before she sat up straighter. Someone was here but who? She didn't feel that darkness she'd felt with the General, not even a hint of it. So she wasn't in trouble, right?
And then she saw them and felt herself relaxing even as they approached her and sat down at her side.
"LARPing?" She questioned while turning her head to look at the other. That was something, a term, she'd never heard before. "Your not dressed up for fun or entertainment purposes, are you." It wasn't' a question but a comment. She knew the other wasn't dark and she knew she felt something. Looking her over she did notice the odd, skimpy, uniform and the design on the shoes. That was like the knight who had saved her that night....Jupiter? A knight also? She was looking at another knight.

Myrkviðr swung the dark green of her tunic underneath an uplifted thigh, exposing the skin even further up her leg.
"Nope," she answered. Well, maybe for fun. The page brought her ankle over the top of her other knee and stretched an arm out behind the other as if it were the most natural thing in the world. There had been no excited yes from the word LARP, so that answer was clearly out the window.
"Would you choose this outfit willingly?"
Uuni--Myrkviðr something in her brain reminded her--raised both her brows and gave the girl a quick grin. There were goosebumps rising on her skin, and Myrkviðr breathed out a strong puff to watch the air float away from her mouth.
"You looking at something interesting?" Looking for something interesting? Those fuku-wearers seemed to do a lot of punching black, slimly objects as far as she could tell. It was hard to tell whether this one had a fuku with that jacket.

Watching the other she wanted to say something, but she wasn't sure what, as she watched the other lift up her skirt. It really was skin showing and it must be cold as well.
Glancing at the other, up and down and then back down, she shook her head after a moment. Her hair, with every movement of he head, acting like a cats tail might. "No, I wouldn't. It's too cold for this weather. Though for the summer it would be better than this." Motioning to what she herself wore. She had no intentions, at this moment, to wear this outfit at all in the summer she didn't intend to pass out from the heat. Whoever had decided to bless, or curse, her with this outfit clearly had a death wish for her in mind; or maybe they were giving her a reason to stay out of things during the summer.
"No, unless you consider meeting others like us, or different from us, interesting. I'm not sure what I consider it just yet. Though it does seem we're both destined to this life with no exit possible." Clearly she didn't like the idea of that. Leaning back Winterlynn allowed herself to relax for the moment.

Wow. Debbie downer! Either that, or one of those people that was there to preach to her. Uuni hated preaching, and fate, and not having a choice.
Others like us. Whoa there. That was a little fast. Myrkviðr had grabbed a piece of bone, not a life sentence. She hadn't agreed to anything.
The oath of the Knight popped into her head. Okay, so, nothing she could remember coherently. Where was the Vegas rule when you needed it?
"What's this us you're talking about?"
What, exactly, were they supposed to be avoiding?
"You stuck in that outfit, or something?" Last she checked, she could power up and down at will without any issue at all. She supposed, if you hated it that much, you could just forever stay powered down. But, maybe there was a catch. There was always a catch, wasn't there?
Maybe, though, she meant Destiny City itself. There was a lot of this life that Myrkviðr had done a darn good exiting so far. Myrkviðr looked over at the other Page intently, waiting for her answers. Uuni had a guess they'd sound crazier than her outfit.

"This outfit...I can take off the coat and shoes and such. But whenever I wind up...like this - Delphi, it's what appears." All of it. And so didn't that mean she was stuck in it? Unless she started stripping. "I can of course not power up...but I've been told this fate - being a knight is rather unavoidable." So maybe not a downer but someone told that this was something that you couldn't escape, or at least not fully.
Her attention wandered away from the other. Looking out and about the park as she brought her right leg up to rest over the top of her upper left leg. Her left foot tapping an odd pattern on the ground. The hell she used to balance on causing her foot, on each downward motion, to hit the ground harder than intended.
"Well, I wasn't looking at anything interesting. But others like us, other knights or the senshi was what I meant." Shrugging, maybe she'd heard more in that question then there had been. "Though I could apply the question, am I looking at something interesting, to you. In which case I suppose. More interesting your out than you - a page." She found the clothing more interesting than the fact the other was a page.

Someone told her that was her fate and she just believed them? Man, people were gullible these days.
Myrkviðr's eyes flicked down to the heavily tapping foot. A frown thinned the outline of her lips, and she rolled her shoulders back. Knights and Senshi. That must have been the official name for the weird-outfit-wearers of Destiny City. Good to know.
Apparently, she was considered a 'Page'. Also good to know.
"So, you're a knight, I'm a page, and some other people are senshi." What a ******** of crazy. "And what, exactly, is the fate of a knight?"
This had to be good.

Not normally, no. Just when it came to something she was clueless on. And normally she wasn't so gullible anyway. But this was...this was magic or something. Wasn't it beyond the norm and thus the normal rules didn't apply?
"We're both pages. Apparently it's a level. Like a something under the heading of knight. Odd, and confusing, they also have a knight rank which falls under the title of knight." Shaking her head as she spoke. "I've met a Knight and a Squire." Both males seemed confident and more than capable. Where as Delphi felt neither of those. In fact, she just wanted to go back to the way things had been, before this, and forget about it. Or better yet turn back the clocks hands to before it happened and avoid it happening, that way she needn't attempt to forget something as life altering as this could be.
"That's I'm trying to learn. Though it seems, from what I've seen, that we're to fight these individuals from the...Negaverse. I will say they feel dark, you'd know one when you saw them. Beyond that I'm hoping to learn. I take it you've not met anyone and found anything out." Like that knight had mentioned taking lessons in self defense, someone needed to think of lessons on how to be a knight! Had no one thought of that? Like a seminar or something.

Great. So, she was only at entry level stupid. How many more were there?
It sounded like at least three. Page, Squire, Knight. Were there more than that? Goodness forbid. She imagined erupting into a halo of light and being transported to another dimension to reach the next level. Something like in Tron, maybe. The original one.
"Fight?" Myrkviðr's snort was impolite and she flopped back against the bench and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, that'll happen when pigs fly." Myrkviðr half expected one of these 'Negaverse' to come in on a fat, pink steed and attempt to smite them.
"No, I haven't met a soul." That was a complete and utter lie. Even before she'd become a page as it were, she'd been meeting people. Whether or not they were Senshi, Nega, or Knights was impossible to decipher for sure, but she'd seen so many people, and conversed with so many more, that it would have been a safe bet to say she'd met all three.
"And if they're going to try and rope me into their pretty-boy military, I think I'll keep it that way. Good luck to you, though." Maybe she wouldn't die. Myrkviðr gave her a mock-salute, and slipped off the bench. The night was young and there were cheap appetizers still to be had!

"Yeah ,it seems they expect that and it's what we're to do. It was even suggested I take self defense classes. Not cheap and not something I'm spending money on. I'd like to avoid fighting if I can help it." And all of this to be honest.
Watching the other get up she shook her head. "Good luck to you as well. I hope you manage to avoid all of this - as it seems you want to." Not that she didn't want to as well. But could she? That knight had said it wasn't likely, or that it wasn't possible. She while she might complain, to herself and to others, she would still power up and seek her answers.
Self defense classes were an idea, though not one she wished to dive into any time soon. Watching the other leave, the darkness soon replacing the others figure, Delphi finally got up and headed off in the other direction. And finished.
