The market seemed to be a place that both Isambard and Ifan were drawn to time and time again. it was so full of life, of imaginiation and creativity. Something that, despite his pragmatism Isambard could appreciate. The god was feeling rather smug in the old town beyond the market there was now a buzz of activity. Buildings were being reconstructed, deconstructed and patched up. There was talk of fuel, electricity, shops, production on a primitive, artisan scale but still ... small scale would lead to large scale once people got the taste of wealth. It was how it had worked before and it would work the same again.

Ifan was pretty impressed too. The people around the pantheon had actually listened to Isambard. Pulled together to lift themselves out of the giant refugee camp.
The young man and god were sat on the edge of the fountain, eating a hot pastry cooked freshly at one of the market stalls. It was the kind of honest food that the both of them might enjoy.

Eventually, she would wander out of Eilaer's apartment and into the market proper. It had delayed their leave, but she could not help herself. She wanted to see it, she wanted to explore this place.

She wanted to mingle in the mortal's imagination and creativity as if it was her lifeblood. It might as well had been, and in her pain and withdrawal, she had cut herself from it for so long that simply stepping though the paths and mingling among the stands seemed almost overwhelming.

She had taken a form similar to the bard's, figuring that familiarity might ease the elves more easily to her presence. Her wings remained, but covered in brown and white feathers, with the tips of some of them dyed vibrant blues and purples. Her hair she wore loose, but shorter, so it would not drag behind her as she walked - bright black with undertones of blues and purple. Brillant golden strings curled around her midsection, her wrists, and partway into her wings.

She stopped at one of the stands to peek, curiously. It was the cooking stand Ifan had been to a few minutes prior.

Ifan happily munched on the savory pastry and watched the world go by. There were all sorts as always. The woman by the food stand did catch his eye. She was different, her colours made her shine, stand out from those around her.
"One of us?" He mused watching here, she certainly carried herself like she was something important.

Isambard stirred and watched the young woman through his host's eyes.
"Possibly, though not like us."

Echo would continue her wandering, but not without netting herself a strawberry tart before moving along. She would pause by every stall, looking over each and every one of them with keen interest.

It would not take long before she would notice she was watched. The young man by the fountain. Rather than be annoyed by it, she would choose to go and sit beside him. "Good morning." She smiled.

Ifan hadn't really expected the woman to come and speak to him. Well, not outside of asking him what the hell he was staring at. He returned her smile.
"Morning." He replied, "Those ones are good." He nodded to her pastry.

Definitely a goddess. Isambard muttered in his ear. Oh yes, he could feel it. She was stronger than she appeared he believed.

"Quite good, I agree." It did not look like Ifan would get scolded for his staring in the least. She would sit beside him, legs folded against the fountain in a way that was definitely lady-like. "This was my first time visiting this stand... I will likely come back later." She would take another bite of the tart.

"What have you been up to, today ?" It was... nice to be around people again. Talking was nice as well, but simply being around so many beings was invigorating in it's own way.

"I come by most days." He admitted. "Um, me? not much really, just scoping things out." He shrugged and finished off the pie he was eating. "Following orders." He held his hand up so she could see the gem firmly placed in there. She would likely know what that meant if she really was a goddess as Isambard assumed.

Following orders ? She would frown a bit at the working, and as he showed her his hand. Echo knew what it meant, yes, but she had not felt the divine touch in him until now.

Was she really so out of touch with her own kind ?

"Well." She would smile. "Any way I can make it a little more enjoyable ?" She had little intention of revealing herself. Her own divinity was not something Music especially wanted to bother with, right now.

Ifan smirked a little at her question. If he hadn't known she was a goddess he might have come out with some kind of a line. The question begged for it.
"Nah, I'm fine." He decided on, the last thing he wanted to do was to insult someone. "I'm used to following orders and these ones aren't too bad." He was interested in most of the things Isambard wanted to do and the god often asked his opinion.
"What are you up to?"

"I just wanted to see this place for myself today." She admitted. The fact that her question had more or less begged for a particular type of answer would thankfully elude her. "I leave tommorow, so..."

Hopefully, at least. If she did not delay things again. Eilaer was so patient with her... and Music was not certain if that patience was wholly deserved or not.

"Would you like to walk with me ?" He could fulfill his 'mission', and they could talk at the same time.

"Sure." Ifan hopped up off his seat and brushed the crumbs from the pastry he had been eating off his clothes. "So where are you going tomorrow?" he was curious of course. Wo wouldn't be. A goddess on a mission.

"I will leave for the mountains." Echo would get up herself, eating the last bit of her tart before folding it gently and putting it in a trash bin as they walked along. "Visiting one of my followers' family." The man seemed aware of who she was - it was useless to deny it completely. "Learn more about their culture, and how they live."

It would also be a place with little expectations - somewhere where she could just be, and find herself again.

"That sounds interesting." he said as they began to walk through the market. A bit of an adventure, see other places and cultures. "Do you have many followers?" It was probably a rude question but he was intrigued.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:52 am

That was a sensitive question, more than Ifan likely thought. "I had many." Had. Did she still ? She had not seen Elizabeth in years, or Alicia. Were they still here ? The list of people she had talked to in the past few years she could easily count on both her hands.

Which was quite unlike her, really.

"Had?" Ifan asked, he really couldn't stop his curiosity. Isambard would have had lots, he was industry, every poor soul that had ever fueled mass production would have been one. "Um, can I ask what you're the goddess of?" He was quite aware that within him Isambard was not too amused with his line of questioning. It was rude, though what did Ifan care? If she wanted to smite him down it wouldn't really be too disappointing.
