“On this home by horror haunted--tell me truly, I implore:" I earned my degree in 1991, and have taken many many semester hours of continuing education. If you are in or looking at starting university or college, please, research the marketplace for your major. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics has good information on what jobs are hot, and how they will (likely) trend in the future. I was bored & clueless and picked my major by flipping through the academic catalog and stopping at a random page. Not the best way to pick your future. I enjoyed the course work, but it was not a practical degree...at least not without a master's, which I did not bother to pursue. So think it through! (I think most people probably do, I just have this weird thing for randomness)
Good luck in your studies! And better yet, good luck in landing a job! whee

I started college at 19 and I'm 21 now I'm still attending. I'm going into the nursing field. I'll be a CNA this year well, in 2 more months smile . It does take time but it's worth it in the end smile . Here's a tip for you new birds : If you work make sure you can accomplish the number of units you sign up for. If you work 40 hrs you should only be taking 2 classes For 30hrs it's 3 classes And for 20 hrs it's 4 classes. Remember to be a full time student you have to have 12units worth of credits. Follow the freshmen guide lines and talk to your education advisors and counsulars smile

Hello there! I studied in college when I was 17 to 22 years old. I learned so many things but the most important are related to social life managing. Since I was a child I was very shy, and didn't speak or do all I wanted because there was someone who made fun of what I did.
There always are people who like to bully, taking advance of natural fears - to do something stupid in public, to say a wrong answer, etc. Those people are really cruel! scream
I realized that those ones are people who have fears too. And are so weak that cannot accept them, nor fight them. So I decided that life is something that deserves to be lived enjoying your beautiful self as God made it. And that means that fearing to do or say something odd it's not worth. Making mistakes is the best way to improve day by day. 3nodding
In college I noticed that almost everyone tried to fit in, by smoking, wearing any style, and so. It was like people force themselves to fit in. That's not fair. It's much better to be "the best me", than being a bad copy of someone else. talk2hand

Greetings! I am currently a senior in a university college. Right now I'm dual majoring in criminal justice and art. Although both majors are completely different, I always had an interesting in both crime and art. At first, I was only one major, which was criminal justice, and it was only online. I love learning about crime and criminal activity. I had a lot of physical problems in the past the held me back from going on campus. When I signed up to be majoring in art last year, it was the first time going on campus and experiencing the college life. The reason why I decided to pick art is because I'm somewhat an artist. I love to draw with all my heart but I'm still learning most of the basics. Taking art classes at the university help my view on the art world and shaped my own artistic style on a whole new different level. Although I am not a talker, especially with strangers, the art community is helping me slowly get out of my shell So yeah. sweatdrop

I actually just started my first semester as a grad student this fall. I'm double majored in Psychology, and Journalism, although I don't plan to take the Journalism degree beyond bachelors. I attend the University of Maryland, and I have been enjoying student life there so far.

Today is my first day back for classes this fall! I had taken a break after high school and (this is NOT the norm) landed a job in the field I loved. I started going back to school a year and a half ago to get a degree in marketing to go with the job I had.
Recently I was let go from the company (a blessing in disguise as they've gone down-hill since I started there six years ago) and have been re-thinking my major and direction with my schooling.
I'm now considering the prospect of getting a bachelors in education and graphic design so I can teach others what I love.
