(Primarily this is a RP to bring Sandy into Sinbads Band of Merry Misfits, if your pet is likely to join also I have no issue with you joining.) Memory...
Sandy remembered now, she remembered loneliness yet again in her life, or was it in this life, had all the others been past lifes? Having not only one previous life, previous....body, but two was making her remember all the things she had and now did not. Sandy used to fight for good! Used to have a mate... and children... and most importantly she used to have her 'gift' now she had non of these and it left a hollow feeling inside. Though the encounter with the horse whom had been from one of her worlds had been insightful she now wished she could forget just what she had remembered.
Usually so upbeat she found a silent tear roll down her cheek, now more than ever did she need something to belong to. A new life here, well when was it going to start! Wing beats kept her above the water as she stopped her flight in the middle of the sea, she had no direction she just wanted to fly and figure out what she would do next. Hopeful that life would throw something in her path as it had so many times, so many life's before.

Yo ho, yo ho, an adventurer's life for her! Carina MacKeel didn't consider herself to be a complex person. She'd be the first to admit that she was a loud-mouthed, overenthusiastic, extroverted mare who would rather have an adventure born out of a misunderstanding than actually sit back and think about what she was doing. She must have had a life before falling, a life as a glinting, shimmering star somewhere up in the sky. But all she could remember was the name of her constellation. Carina. The Keel. Nothing else. No family, no friends, just a few names. And y'know what? That was just the way she liked it. The world was such a big, interesting place, that quite frankly, she'd rather have a few adventures than be sitting up in the sky, which seemed like a big, empty place with nothing much happening.
Whereas here, there was always something going on. Maybe not where you were swimming, but somewhere out there, out in the world, there was something exciting going on, and that thought was...not comforting in the least. Sorry, but seagulls flying around making a ruckus and being their usual greedy selves was not the heights of entertainment. Bored out of her mind and wishing someone new would show up, just for a little variety, Carina swam up to the surface and poked her head up. And found herself staring at a pair of gigantic white wings. Oh. Well, that wasn't a seagull at all. In fact, it was a pretty lyra mare who was looking entirely too sad for a pretty lyra mare. "Hey, lass!" she called out from below. "What's been breaking your heart? And if it's a who, can I beat that who up?" She waved a fin-blade to back up her offer.

Initially Sandy faltered and had to beat her wings hard against the water. Luckily only the tip of her hoof entered the sea before she managed to recover it and began to chuckle, chuckle at the sudden surprise and at the comment. Shaking her head making her blond locks flick all over the place she spoke softly "No one to beat up, actually I don't know how it would even work! Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that one day." She chuckled again and manoeuvred above the water to get a good view of the voices owner whilst she thought about what really was on her mind and making her sad. "The past... do you have memories of a life before here, this world I mean?"

Carina laughed. "Well, if y'think y'might need it someday down the line, then I'll be happy to keep that offer held out to yah. Like I said, y'might need it, and I might need some exercise. Just a thought, just in case." Well, now the mare would think she was violent. Well, she was. At least, to people who threatened her friends. Thankfully, it wasn't hard to get considered her friend. She waggled one of her legs again. "And it won't be a knot out of my way."
Carina squinted against the light and thought about it. Any memories? ...Nope. "I remember which constellation I come from?" she said. "But nothing else. But as far as I can figure, my life must have been pretty boring up there. I like it just the way it is down here." Epiphany! "You miss your family, then?"

A gentle smile tugged at the lyra's mouth as she let the offer sink in, didn't strike her as overly violent after all it wasn't aimed at her but for her. It was actually kinda sweet, reminded her of some old team mates looking out for each other, watching one another's backs. She missed that. "If I ever need someone beat up I will be sure to call in your help. Can't do much damage on my own anyway, what with having hoofs now and all. Oh maybe they would? I hadn't much thought about that!" Chuckling again, she couldn't do much damage could she, not without her power but then her power wasn't really for damage... it was for helping.
"Constellation?" She tried to follow the others view but found herself squinting and retreating from the suns harsh rays. "I suppose I do... I mean I couldn't remember a life... and now I remember two very different ones, am I crazy? I suppose I might be.... In one the loss of family was distant... I remember that much like it had been a long time the other..." She found herself silencing, a rare occasion for Sandy. The pain stabbed at her heart, she'd found a mate... they'd had children, all gifted in different ways and her loneliness had been abolished. Now she was lonely again, with a void that had never been so deep before, and she felt the tears collecting in the corner of her eye. "I had love... so much" She sniffed trying her hardest not to let the tears escape "love."

Oh, it seemed that Carina's new friend was crying! She'd definitely come across someone in need of a friend, then. Carina hated to see a pretty mare cry, especially in a heartbroken way. True, she hadn't caused it, and it seemed that no one had caused it, which meant that there wasn't much she could do. Well, she could comfort the mare? And that was what she should do, of course. But she'd never really considered comforting her forte. Was she supposed to say there, there? Or was that a cliche? Man, comforting was hard.
"Yeah," she said in a soft voice. "I come from the Keel. It's all I know about m'self. Erm. I'm really sorry fer yer loss, miss. If there's anythin' I c'n do fer ye, just lemme know. An' no, I don't think ye're crazy. I reckon, I reckon if we landed here from another life, who's t'say we didn't land there from another life? An' who knows, maybe this one's a better one? Though I guess if ye lost yer mate, it's definitely not a better one ye've landed in, is it. Listen, miss, I'm here for ye if y'need me. Jes' lemme know. Okay? I'm always there fer a friend who needs me." Not so bad after all.

Blinking furiously she fought back the tears she nodded, she understood what the other mare was saying and found it very comforting indeed. Her spirits lifted if only a little but it was a start, and the start she needed. Sandy knew that crying and feeling sorry for herself wasn't going to achieve anything but it hurt so much, so very much like a knife straight to her heart.
"Thank you... Oh! I don't know your name! Mines Sandy, Sandy Simmons." She'd searched for a name but hadn't found one suddenly realising that she hadn't learnt the others name nor shared her. The usually ditzy mare had a habit of just the thing, becoming far to enthusiastic and involved in speaking and thinking to even introduce herself. "I think a friend is exactly what I need, if you wouldn't mind another one?" She smiled almost her usual happy beaming smile at the star in the water. "My last life... was like a fresh start, a new chance at life I'm hoping this is the same... even if the price is so high. Maybe it'll hurt less over time.. until then I guess I just need to DO something, get my new start under way."

"Th' name's Carina MacKeel, but ye can call me Carina," she said. "It's a pleasure t' meet ye, Miss Sandy. Or is it Miss Simmons? Don't want t' call ye by a name ye don't like. I get angry if people call me Cary, m'self. It was true. She'd met a few stallions, including a somewhat stuffy nova-arcturus cross, who'd thought they could call her Cary. She had set them straight. At full volume. With much lashing of her weighted tail. People tended to forget that carrying an anchor around makes you strong. It was one of the reasons she still wore it, for all that it weighed her down too much when she was tired.
"I never mind having another friend," she added. "Ye can never have too many friends, I say. Other people say ye can, but they've yet to prove it to me. Enemies take too much time and acquaintances are just too coy. Gimme a friend any day of the week, or a shipmate." She tried adding a wide grin in the hopes that it would help things. "As fer getting a new start? Ye could try joining a herd, if ye'd like. I did, and I think I like it quite a lot. Ye find the herd that's right for ye, make some friends, go on some adventures, and who knows? Maybe this life'll be as good as the last one, in time."
