So it is that time of year again where everyone must turn their attention to me and shower me with their affection and adoration!

Last year's love fest was a fabulous success ... sort of! My naughty sons seemed to have gone a little overboard with their arrows, so as penance, we're going to have a magnificent dance contest starring my lovely sons! My daughters who naturally love to dance wanted to play too. We will crown a King and Queen of Valentine's Day to be honored at a special ball in my temple. It will be formal, and all Pae'il can invite a date. Don't forget to bring lots of gifts for yours truly.

This year, we've taken special precautions to ensure everyone has a fabulous time and my lovely boys don't run amok. heart

________________________My boys have agreed to behave themselves this year, and as penance for their naughty behavior last year, they've agreed to hold a dance contest for the entertainment of my party guests! Not wanting to be left out, my beautiful daughters have agreed to participate as well.

My children love me so much!

:[ How it Works ]:

• Each player will roll once per day while their Pae'il is still in the contest. The deadline for rolling each day is 11:59pm EST.
  
• The Judges (Venus, Artemis, Psyche, Tonantzin) will then give a score for each couple, along with their commentary and critique on the dance. (They will roll one dice for each couple)
  
• We will total the rolls (each player+judges rolls) and whoever has the lowest total will be eliminated for that day.
  
• We will do this once per day until there is only one couple left, who will be the winner.
  
• Feel free to RP your dance each day. There is going to be a prize for most entertaining dancer.

:[ Rules ]:

• Roll only once per day
  
• If a contestant misses a day, that dancer's score will be zero.
  
• If an Erote or Grace misses a day, Iris will roll in their place just after midnight.
  
• If a Judge misses a day, Iris will roll for their place just after midnight
  
• This is a game, so drama will happen and it's not personal against you or your Pae'il. (Expect it to happen if your Pae'il is paired with Eros.)
  
• In case of a tie, the winner is whoever had the highest Judges score. If that is also a tie, there will be a sudden-death dance-off where the players have an additional 24 hours to roll again. The combined total of just the player+erote/grace will count, and lowest leaves the competition. (The contest will continue on while we wait for the second rolls)
  
• RP is not required, but there are prizes available for those who do.
  
• Remember if you win this contest, your Pae'il will have a baby that is canon. If this will ruin any planned plots, I recommend not entering that Pae'il.
  
• Sore winners will forfeit their prize. Sore losers will be greylisted so they won't get any new Pae'il for a while.

Every year, Venus, the Goddess of Love hosts a fabulous extravaganza for the denizens of Telrunya. It's an occasion to honor and worship the beautiful goddess, while having a good time with friends and loved ones. Her mischievous sons sometimes show up, and cause a little mayhem, but that's all part of the fun!

Last Valentine's Day, things got a little out of hand. Worried that it might be a deterrent for guests this year, she's taken measures to ensure her sons will behave. Each one is outfitted with a bow tie that allows Venus to reign them in, should they get a little out of hand. This is to be a peaceful, lovely evening.

It is still a mystery what happened last year to cause such a disruption, and Pothos doesn't remember anything that happened after awakening hog-tied in the closet in the temple.

Venus still doesn't know where all those babies came from. Her sons' arrows only cause love, not babies.

:[ The Event ]:

• This year, Venus is determined to have a fun, enjoyable evening with the Pae'il. She's gone through great lengths to ensure all trouble-makers have been nullified, including collars in the guise of bow ties on her sons.
  
• All Pae'il Teen or older may attend the party with a date.
  
• Venus has set up large aquarium tanks for the Naiads so they can be comfortable. She is not normally this accommodating, but she feels she needs to do a little damage control. (She needs the love generated from this event to survive the rest of the year. Last year was rough because there wasn't as much love. Lust is good and all, but she prefers genuine love.)
  
• When I say Venus did something, I really mean she ordered the Cupid Mellons to do it.

:[ The Game ]:

As with all Valentine's Day Balls, there is a twist. This year, we're doing a Choose Your Own Adventure style Role-Play with prizes hidden behind selected choices and prompts.

• To play the game, you must RSVP. (sign-up)
  
• Only couples who have RSVP'd prior to the game starting can participate.
  
• All actions are to be determined as a pair.
  
• More rules and details will be revealed at the Ball, because we don't want to spoil anything right now.
  
• All Erote arrows will be in play for this game, so there is a chance that a couple could emerge MARRIED. So make sure you are okay with the pairing becoming married for canon. (Married Pae'il cannot breed with any other Paeil).
  
• There is always the possibility that couples hit by the Erotes Arrows could end up having babies. We're still trying to figure out how the arrows do that, because they're not supposed to. They are only a love spell, not a fertility spell.
  
• There will not be any random coupling this year. Only couples entered will receive the oops!babies. This event provides the opportunity to pair two pae together without having a prior relationship established for breeding. (Normal breeding requires an established relationship and RP)
  
• TEENS may not go to the ball with an ADULT unless their actual age difference is less than 6 months. (That means the Teen is likely due to grow anyway)

• You may enter up to 5 of your own Pae'il
  
• Only one prize per person, regardless how many of one person's Pae'il complete the game.
  
• Staff and Guest Staff may participate. Staff cannot win the regular prizes, but they can win the breedings. Staff cannot help make the decisions for the game, so their partner will be making all the choices solo.
  
• New choices will be posted daily. If a day is missed, that couple is eliminated.
  
• This is not a judged RP contest, but in order to advance to the next round, RP is required to make a choice between the three given actions.

During the Game, your participation will be appreciated. It will make the story and experience much more engaging and entertaining.

• If you require more information about your role, PM Antidia for details. Otherwise, just RP your Erote or Grace when they are mentioned showing up. (notification will be sent)
  
• Because Erotes are IPCs, any that are not actively played for this event will be assigned new players for Valentine's Day 2014. Graces are exempt from this, however any that are not active will be temporarily controlled by the Fifth Age staff if they are required for story advancement.
