Bad things happen to good people, and Wynter Moon was no exception. The poor girl was sitting in the detention center of the police department, no doubt still trying to make sense of what was going on. Before answers would come, more questions would rise. On the otherside of the glass was a pair of women whom Wynter had never met before.

One of them was smirking at her unpleasantly. She had a long dark hair that appeared to be unhealthy and brittle. She was a lanky woman whose figure was emphasized by her black uniform and white gloves. Beside her was a woman with even darker hair but a kinder, cleaner face. She seemed to be pitying Wynter. The rougher of the two approached the glass and knocked on it.
"Well lookie here," she said, "it's that killer from the news. She's twice as small as that guy she buried. She must have been on some steroids or something..."
The other woman didn't reply.

The woman on the otherside of the glass let out a dry cackle. "Crocodile tears! Tears from a killer!" she taunted. "Sekai stop it-you already know she's innocent...she has no idea what's going on..." the other woman said. Sekai narrowed her eyes, never taking them off of Wynter, "So you checked? Ok. She's innocent then. Still doesn't change the fact that she has to go on trail. What are you going to do, little duck?" Sekai asked.

"Well-it's a good thing I've already called you an attorney. Best one there is so far. He's the guy who put Miles Edgeworth in his place. I've paid him before hand, so he has no reason to refuse. I suspect they'll be coming by to speak with you within two hours," Sekai purred. The other woman rolled her eyes but said nothing. She seemed to disapprove of her current company.

Sekai tapped on the glass, "Let's just say you owe me one." The woman behind her let out an angry sigh and left the room. Sekai looked over her should and her grin widened, "Sisters, am I right? We live to make each other miserable." She stretched and chirped, "I'll leave you to it then. Best not to mention me to the lawyer eh? Information is valuable and should never be given freely." The woman turned away and lifted a hand, "Toodles!" she said and left the detention center.

It was only about 20 minutes later that Wynter heard voices approaching, "Stop complaining Nick! We got the money already! Now it doesn't matter if we win or lose!" "Yeah but don't you find any of this to be a little fishy? People don't just mail envelopes full of free money!" "It's not really free though, since they want us to represent a client," "Yeah but you'd think they'd pay us AFTER we cleared the clients name-" The door opened and two people entered the room.

One of them was a man in a blue suit and the other was a young woman in strange robes. She had beads in her hair as well. She didn't look like she was from around the area. Upon seeing Wynter, the girl exclaimed, "Look Nick! A duck! It's so cute!"

The young lady stammered, "Of-Of course you're not!" she said, realizing she had offended Wynter. The man didn't seem very professional at a glance. In fact, he seemed nervous. "That's uh....an interesting coat you got there-" he began. He was elbowed sharply by the lady, "Introduce yourself Nick!" "R-Right! Um...I'm Phoenix Wright...defense attorney! You called for me...right?" he asked.

"You know, you can always pay AFTER the trail," Phoenix said. "That coat is so cute! Where did you get it?" the lady asked. "Forget it Maya-that money is going to the bills," Phoenix said. Maya wilted visibly, "But it's so cute..." "Now then...uh...what happened exactly?" Phoenix asked. "The letter said you were suspected of killing someone!" Maya said.
