Egg name: Maritime Monochrome Character touching: HiemalResponse: Hiemal's mind intrigues the Maritime Monochrome egg. It is alert, and initially wary when he touches it - the egg is not aware it is in a prison, in so many words, but it does draw a mental distinction between the criminals and the guards, and it knows which category Hiemal falls into. And yet... he never hurt anyone, not directly. It can feel that from the shape of his memories. His motives are innocent enough. Wanting a dragon for companionship, companionship that he failed to find from humankind... Yes. Maritime Monochrome can respect that. By the end it is regarding him with something bordering on fondness. Even if it is not for you, it will try to remember you, Hiemal.

Egg name: Golden Melody Egg Character touching: Meera Response: Help! Golden Melody is stuck in this dark, cramped, far-too-small place (and for a heartbeat the sudden wash of claustrophobia will be overwhelming) and something terrible is about to happen! The touch on Meera's mind is soft, but frantic - like the fluttering of a trapped songbird's wings, the nervous energy peaks in short bursts, then comes to rest again.

Egg name: Preening Princess Character touching: LeeviResponse: Almost instantly there is the purr of a mind against his own. The presence is not harmless, full of power, but it is the warm and mothering sort of strength. Leevi feels a churr of approval and the egg vibrates under his gentle touch. Both of them want the same things; each want to heal and help. And Ramoth forbid anyone that stops him. There's a big of injured pride of him doubting its greatness. Can't he see?! Preening Princess is wonderful! It is smart and beautiful and...and it can protect. It's a good egg. A better dragon. Honest.

Why hellllllooooo there!
The egg is rather pleased to see you, sort of, kind of. Lookit you, Blyte, playing nice and being so good. The fact he finds its shell attractive elicits a sort of glee from Strawberry Wine; blood is amusing and so the boy, in turn, is quite hilarious. There is a feeling of INTENSE HAPPY and a mind poking at the Candidate, wrapping around his for a rather hardcore exploration of his thoughts.
Finally it backs off with a little chortle. Scoot away, little man. Scoot away.

Response: Hey? HEY. HEY, COMPANY. HI.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Saain, what's goin' on - oh oh wow wait you have a kid? Is that a thing that happens to Candidates?
The screeching halt that Marvelous Dancer comes to isn't necessarily one of aversion - it doesn't seem upset at the fact that Saain has a son. It's more bemusement. If Saain is looking for her own hatchling, why does she want a dragon hatchling? Dragons aren't the same as people! (For one thing, they're way cooler.)
Unless she wants both. Kids and an awesome dragon - that's pretty cool! Marvelous Dancer can get behind that!

The mind that brushes Rokana's is careful not to reveal too much of itself beyond an easygoing interest, but there's the impression that the dragon in the shell is thinking about the information it's getting. All sorts of interesting things coming from this Candidate, but Cheerful Sneak-Thief decides fairly quickly that it's not interested.
Ambitious fella, aren't you? Well, that's nice. Fight the power and all that, right? But maybe one of these other eggs will be more your speed, champ. If you wanna chill, though - you come right back.

Egg name: Emperor's Groove Character touching: MeeraResponse: --SHOW ME HOW YOU DO IT NOW SHAKE THAT GROO-- oh, wait, hello Meera! How wonderful it is to see you! Like it's sibling, Emperor's Groove wants to break out as well. Unlike it's depressing fellows, this one wants to do it by dancing! That's right, we're talking spandex and glitterglue, partying like a rockstar, breakin' from that shell one hoppin' leg at a time. Sure it's dark and depressing in the little egg but just think of it, Meera, soon they'll be out! It'll be a brand new world full of riders and... and, well it doesn't know how many dragons, it doesn't know how to count yet. More than one dragons. There's things to look forward to and it plans to have them all. NOW DANCE --VE THANG, YEAH YEAH.

Joscelin receives the same pleasant greeting as all the others, a little bubbly warmth of anyone taught in the ways of manners. That is where the kind warmth ends, though. Where the Preening Princess may greet some with open arms and songs of praises, Joscelin and his intense dislike of so many things has this little dragon pulling away. So much hostility towards one gender and such strong (angry sounding) opinions. It hides what it can of it's disapproval and withdraws from him with the vaguest brush of 'that's alright then, dear'.
(Way to go, scare the little hatchling, why don't you? )

The Fly Away Home trembles under Blyte's touch. There is a sort of quiet curiousity there, though the little thing inside of the egg is somewhat confused. It's not sure what it is yet. It can be full of CUT YOU or sugar sweetness? It can be any color! Or any personality!
Or... Or anything at all.
There is a powerful feeling of loss and unknowingness from the egg, a vast emptiness before it pulls away.

Response: What's all this then? The Tiny Professor is silent for a moment before it's very loud and very intelligent mind is being thrown directly at Hiemal. There is rage in the dragon inside, a hissing and spitting of the very idea of color meaning anything at all, whether it be hide or clothing. Rank means nothing! A single garment doesn't define him. He should know this. Tiny Professor is pissed he doesn't.
It pulls away from him, a low constant mental growl emitting from the beast even if it pokes at Hiemal.

Noisy Socialite's still annoyed that the last person who touched it was a stone drag, so its excitement at being given more attention is a little - oh wow, aren't you something else.
The dragonet inside seems to come to a screeching halt as it catches what's going on in Marue's head, as if it can't quite understand what the shards just occurred. And then it sniffs, preens a little bit, and stops caring. Okay, if Marue wants to think it's some kind of classy s**t, that's cool. Noisy Socialite's classy. That works.

Oh - hello!
For a moment, Winter Visitor seems startled by Saain's presence, but it recovers quickly. Saain seems nice, especially compared to most of these other people, and Winter Visitor likes that. The egg seems content to sit quietly with her for as long as she wants to be there, radiating mild curiosity. Is she enjoying this? Are the other eggs being kind to her? It hopes so!

Response: Heyyy pretty lady! What's the hurry? You can't stick around and hang out with the Marvelous Dancer egg? Really? Why not?
Well, the flattery certainly strikes the hatchling inside, and it preens delightedly at Canaoke's happy thoughts. It's positively preening under her hand, but when she finally draws away, the interest turns to disappointment. Of course, she has to touch other eggs, but....well, can't she stay a little longer? She's so pretty, after all!
But no, it's too late for that. Canoake has already moved on, leaving disappointment in her wake.

Strawberry Wine wants to know. No, really. It's poking around in Canoake's mind in perhaps a very rude manner for a little egg and while it knows she thinks she's something special and super awesome, this little egg has no shine to it's rather wonderful shell. It can see inside your mind, little girl, it knows. It'll always know, it'll always talk, but that's okay, you probably won't have to always hear it. Either way, it assumes she'll have her pretty face and that's enough, right? Right.
