Name: Kail Age: 19 Bio: Kail came from a common family. His family though was one of the first families to revolt against the King's higher taxes. As a result they were the first to be made an example of. His mother was killed first so that he and his father had to watch. Then he and his father were tortured before they were both shot. His father died but he lived, saved by a kind doctor. The only reason he didn't die instantly was because of a birth defect that caused his heart to lie on the right side of his chest. The bullet he was shot with remains lodged in his left lung and causes him trouble from time to time. Because of what happened to his family he wants to kill the king. Personality: Kail was a happy child until the torture and murder of himself and his parents. Since then he has been spiteful of royals and nobles. He is also rash and cocky like most teens, he thinks he is invincible or he did until he got caught. Now he is fighting for his life and refuses to let the guards or the prince break him.

Name: Leonard Kota Nickname: Leo Age: 20 Bio: The Heir apparent to his fathers throne, Leonard's life had been nothing but books and study. Every day one of the king's advisers would be there, teaching him about something that could mean the rise and fall of the kingdom and all Leo could think about was when today's lesson would be over and he would finally be free to focus on things that did not involve life and death. Leo appreciated the education, but resented the fact that the vast majority of his life had been spent inside surrounded by smelly old men who always had something to say about how Leo should live his life and how he should manage his kingdom during it. Being the prince had its perks though. The prince wanted for nothing. The prince was clothed in the finest of fashions and his stomach was always full but he knew there had to be more to life than the management and disposition of the kingdom. He desired adventure, passion and excitement. Despite these desires however, the prince loved his father and sought to impress him. While he resented his duty, he understood the responsibility that he was shouldered with and would do anything he could to ensure the survival of the kingdom and its subjects. Leo's father was the king, and being King was of course very demanding. Leo rarely saw his father and when he did see him the King had only a few short words for him at meals or the occasional social gathering. The prince resented the kingship, as it had deprived him of a relationship with his father and he vowed that when he became king things would be different, that is of course, if he was even around to become king...

He had been on a roll, no one could stop him. He would show himself and yet no one could catch him. Now the king was out of town leaving the palace with very few troops. He could steal the crown jewels now and no one would be able to stop him. Or at least that was what he had thought going into his heist. He hadn't expected as many soldiers as there had been. It looked as though the king hadn't actually left with all the people around. None the less he had slipped through and made it to the crown jewels. It was there he had run into problems, he'd been caught.
Lungs burned from the lack of oxygen as his head was shoved into a bucket of water again. His hands bound behind him, back bleeding from the whips that caught his skin. The water was cold and the feeling it left him reminded him much of the day he was supposed to die. Panic welled in him thinking he was going to do just that as darkness edged his vision. He couldn't breathe at all, as soon as he was pulled up for air he was pushed down again. Under the water he barely heard the door to the dungeons slam open, someone entering.

For the fourth day in a row he was force to sit there, working on the most recent iteration of an essay he was asked to write by his instructor. His brain simply could not pen another sentence so with a sigh he pushed his chair back and walked over to the window. This was not the first time he had done this. His instructors had caught him looking out the window too many times and had finally decided to move his room to the west tower which only had one window that looked out over the courtyard. He could barely see the forest on the edge of the property over the rock walls of the keep. Not good enough, he thought. with a sigh he looked out the window, desperate for something interesting to take his mind off his studies.
Luckily he noticed the guards rushing in to the courtyard, a figure was being carried between two of the bigger guards and they were dragging him across the courtyard. One of the guards pointed at his window and he stepped back, afraid that he had been caught yet again looking out the window and his master would soon be informed.
Leo rushed to his seat and sat down, busily arranging his papers to ensure that if anyone were to walk in he would be able to convince them that he was working on his essay and not procrastinating. But no one came. He just sat there for a few minutes working on his essay until he realized no one was coming and that he was actually working on his essay. With a sigh he put his pencil down just as someone came bursting through the door. Out of fear he grabbed for the pencil but failed to grab it correctly and it fell ingloriously to the floor. He started to stammer out an explanation for why he was not working on the essay at the moment his master came in.
But the man who entered was not a master, but a messenger boy from the dungeon. The young boy told the prince that they had captured a thief trying to steal the crown jewels and that the prince must come at once to deal with the disposition of the prisoner. "The keeper wunts you to 'ome" Leo's soul jumped at the chance to finally do something kingly/exciting and followed the servant out of the room toward the dungeon.
The prince had only been to the dungeon a few times. It wasn’t really a place for anyone but the keeper. Leo hated the keeper, he had never actually seen the keepers, face, only the black cowl he seemed to have covering it at all times. he also smelled.... Bad.... Leo shivered a bit at the knowledge that he would soon have to address this man about a prisoner.
Leo took one last breath of fresh air and puffed out his chest and threw back his shoulders, trying to look as powerful as possible as he entered the dungeon.
His senses were assaulted by the sights and smells of the dark dimly lit place. Torches adorned the windowless bowels of the dungeon, providing just enough light to navigate. He drew a scented handkerchief from his pocket and covered his face, trying to protect his sensitive nose from the horrid mixture of feces, oil fires and human sweat. The dungeon, usually quiet, was alight with the screams and protestations of a new prisoner being assaulted by guards. Leo proceeded cautiously to where the guards were all huddled around the newcomer.
As he neared the cell Leo assumed held the prisoner his servant called for silence and announced the princes arrival.
“All hail Prince Leo, Long live the prince” proclaimed the servant.
There were four guards and the keeper, all four bowed their heads at the prince before turning back to the prisoner. The keeper remained still. Leo nodded to them. Leo looked at their charge. He met the eyes of the man for a moment and something strange passed between them that caused Leo to furrow his brow for a moment. A young man by the looks of him, he had no memory of his face but he was extremely curious about why the man was now his prisoner at all.
“What has occurred here?” Leo inquired, trying to sound intelligent and mannered. It was probably the first complete sentence to grace these walls in years.

MUffled voices were all he could hear as he struggled to get his head above the wter again for air. His struggles weregrowing weaker though as the lack of air had caused significant dark spotsin his vision. Muscles felt weak from the cold and his nose burned from the water that had been forced up it. Then almost as promptly as his head had been shoved into the water he was freed from it gasping harshly for breath. His lungs ached particullarly the left one. Wet hair clung to his face as he panted for breath, water dribbling down his face to his soaked white shirt which hung from his shoulders having been shreded by the whips used earlier. Everything seemed paused by the entrance of the crown prince and for the moment he was glad the man had arrived when he did. Dark eyes watched the prince as the man locked eyes with him. "Your highness we found this boy within the room of the crown jewels. He had managed to slip past the guard and was admiring them when we found. He has admitted to a near theft but he refuses to say whom sent him to do such a thing." one of the guards answered.

Leo looked toward the voice that had told him what had occurred. Leo was suddenly flushed with a sense of purpose and duty, finally something to do aside from read books or write essays. His heart rate increased and his breath became strong and steady. It took about a second for the realization that the boy was a dirty thief to sink into Leo, as it did Leo's face began to contort into anger and his right hand curled into a fist. In a show of strength the prince bound over to the boy and with a swift movement brought his right fist into contact with the boy's jaw. Leo's hand hurt immediately after and he tried to hide this fact by quickly grabbing the boy's hair with the same hand.
"After all my father and I do for you and the people this is how you repay us?" the prince yelled, pulling harshly at the boys hair so that his head was cocked upward and the prince and boy were face to face "Who sent you here, are there others?" the prince questioned, staring deeply into the eyes of the boy as if the answers to his questions could be found there. His left hand came up to grip the boy's neck tightly, squeezing just enough that he was sure the boy could feel the constriction but not enough to cut off his ability to speak.

He watched the prince settle into his thoughts of what he was before the fist connected with the left side of his jaw causing his head to jerk to the right. It was quickly pulled back by the prince's hand finding its way into his hair and painfully pulling. Kail couldn't help but laugh at the man's words about what his father and him had done for the kingdom. Gathering what saliva and bits of water he had in his mouth he spit into the prince's face. "I am not scared of you nor your father. You are both fools." Kail hissed. "You do nothing for me, nor your own people whom suffer. Your father merely takes what he wants leaving nothing but destruction in his path. I come on the wind to end that pain he causes." Kail continued despite the and around his throat.

Leo searched the eyes for answers for only a split second before his face became covered in the foul fluids of the boy's mouth. The prince's face turned from anger to rage. Releasing his left hand briefly to wipe the fluids from his face he quickly grasped the boys throat again and squeezed harder. The boy's words only worked to fuel his rage. When he had heard enough he tightened his grip with his left hand and added his right. Lifting the boy into the air with surprising ease, Leo sent the boy flying through across the cell and into the opposite wall. The boy struck the wall hard, making the cell ring with the funny noise that flesh and bone makes when it collides with a hard surface. The sound made the prince crack a diabolical smile.
Leo closed the distance between him and the boy quickly. Flipping him over he placed his knee over the boys neck and pressed his weight into it. This also forced the boy's head off to the side. "You aren't scared of us eh?" the prince said almost mockingly "Well I think its about time we teach you a little bit about what it means to insult royalty" the prince roared, pressing his weight down on the boys neck, his hands holding the boys down to the floor. "A-lot of good your wind is doing you now..." the Prince laughed, watching as the boy struggled to escape the prince's hold. "Tell me what I want to know and I may consider giving you a quick and painless death." The prince stated.

Kail smirked as he was released for a moment when the prince wiped away the spit from his face. He was not in the least durprised when the hand returned to his throat moments later squeezing. Nor was he surprised when the other hand joined it. Air cut off to him again he struggled weakly as he was lifted. Hitting the opposite end if the cell Kail gasped in pain. His back already raw from the whipping he had recieved earlier and his hands still bound behind his back. He crumpled to the floor not willing to move. He ached in places he hadn't had pain in for a long time and he was sure at least one thing had broken.
Being flipped over and a knee pressed to his neck renewed Kail's struggles. He couldn't breath well and being bound made it hard to struggle. Blackness edged his vision again but he couldn't give into it not yet. "Screw you.... no one sent me." Kail gasped out. Dark blue eyes shut in pain, his chest ache more than any other part and he felt sick.

The prince reveled in the power he was getting to display. A smile crept across his face and he pressed hard into the boys neck as he stood. "You don't get to pass out yet, worm" the prince spat... turning his back on the boy. The prince motioned to the two closest guards. "Pick this wretch up off of my floor, hes bleeding all over it" the prince laughed, turning to watch as the guards roughly grabbed the boy by his sounders and held him standing before the prince. The prince looked over the boy's lean but muscular body. It was obviously a body that had been trained and molded to perform a specific purpose.
"My guards tell me you tried to steal the crown jewels" the prince said, stating the obvious but intending to carry on with the thought "Those jewels are locked behind 2 doors made of the strongest steel," the prince said, the volume of his voice steadily rising, "Secured by locks created by the finest locksmiths in our country" a sight touch of admiration coming out in his now booming voice, turning to face the boy "but you, a little nothing of a boy, got within 2 feet of the jewels, a feat the kingdom believed to be impossible" the prince proclaimed. "You made my men look like a bunch of minimum wage bazaar guards."
The prince sighed, moving closer to the boy now, but staying out of projectile range. "I am aware of only one person who could have accomplished this feat" the prince sighed, shaking his head "But he is only myth and legend". Amazed that he was even thinking of asking his next question the prince stepped a little closer and looked intently at the boy. "Are you acquainted with the one the people call "Apparition"?" The prince asked, his tone level.

Kail squirmed as the knee pressed harder into his neck and then was removed. Twisting to his side he coughed blood coming up as he coughed staining his lips in its crimson colour. The two guards reacted quickly to the prince and soon Kail found himself hoisted up dangling between the two men. He had no strength to stand on his own, wheezing for breath he could not grasp. Vaguely he wondered how long it had been since his scarring had acted up. His head hung, he didn't need to look at the prince to know that more torture was coming. Why the man was explaining to him his transgressions he would never guess. He assumed it was because the royals liked to hear themselves talk. Giving a soft snort at the prince saying that his men looked like a bunch of minimum wage bazaar guards. Its what they were, besides the minimum wage and truth be told Kail thought the bazaar guards had more training than the lowly things he had slipped past with no trouble. Kail raised his head his dark blue eyes aflame with recognition at the calling of the 'Apparition.' "If I am?" he questioned.

The prince looked closely at the boy as he finished his question, half expecting to be told to ******** off or spat at... his right fist clenched and ready to retalitate if the prince had read the boy correctly. The prince's eyes widened as the boy's response filled the cell. The prince watched the guards shift nervously at the prospect of learning about someone who had caused the kingdom so much grief for so long, also surprised by the boy's response. Like a bad omen, the whole dungeon fell quiet, as if the walls and chains of that wretched place wanted to hear the boy's answer as well.
Taking a step forward the prince reached out with his left hand and placed it gently under the boys chin, raising his head up so that the prince could look into the boy's eyes again. Looking intently into them the prince began "I need to know where he is, so that I can bring him to justice for the crimes he has committed against my, I-I mean my father's kingdom". The prince asked, looking briefly at the faces of the two guards holding the boy before him, his eyes apologizing for the slight insult to his father. "Give me the answers I seek and I will ensure that your torment ceases" the prince promised, knowing that the boy would never leave this place alive. "Withold your answers, and I will personally ensure that your suffering continue." the prince warned, his right hand reaching up to squeeze a wound that was open and bleeding on the boy's shoulder.
