Super Sailor Virtus, Senshi of Kindness and fighter for the Dark Mirror Court, did everything in his power to be strong and sturdy for the needs of his team and to be prepared for anything that might be asked of him. He was more than willing to comply with orders, if only because he had always been the kind of guy who did exactly what he was told, to the best of his ability.
But Grant was learning that gusto and faith were not the only things required to be a soldier. At least, not an effective force in this battle. He needed to better himself, however he could. He took that to mean more patrols, more practice with his powers, more sparring and training with his team and, when he could, more training on his own time.
Which was why he was trying to find the perfect regime for himself, a home grown work out routine to keep himself fighting fit and to help him become stronger in the areas that he lacked the most work in. Physical strength, for one, was not his best subject as far as this particular brand of schooling went.
The first thought he had was to start simply. And what was more simple than doing what he loved to do? He had a pair of shoes with wheels in the bottoms of the heel, called Heelies, that he adored just scooting around the park on. Why not turn that into a work out method? He just had to ride a little faster, pay a bit more attention to the action more than the feel of the movement and the wind in his hair. It was easy enough, and still, he found in that moment, fun.
He was scooting through the park in the low evening, heading to a place where he liked to start his patrols. He was very polite about how he scooted along, though, always stopping when people were ahead of him and walking through crowds of people or when he was near children. In fact, he slowed himself and walked so often that he was not really getting a good heart rate going.
As he was waiting for a line at a water fountain to dwindle so he could walk by them before scooting off again, he decided he probably needed to come up with a better method for training. He did not feel like he was getting too much out of this effort and, while he commended himself for a good effort, he would need to step things up. No, this was not something he could add to his list of daily routines.
So far, he had nothing on that list. But he was not put off, even as a large group of small children ran onto the path just as he was about to get himself going again, and he had to walk slowly through them. No, he would keep trying, as hard as he ever did. Because he needed to get better, and this was only the first attempt!
