There was something Shehk had noticed in her visits to the human world during these little FEAR gathering adventures she'd gone on. It was something that sort of needled at the back of her mind as she sat there, carefully brewing a new toxin to put into play, stabbing at it now and then with her chin set into her palm as she considered what it seemed like all of the places she'd been to had in common, one lip tapping her chin thoughtfully.
Her visit to New York had been particularly meaningful in that way, streets packed, the air filled with a toxic smog. On her way back to the lair she'd grabbed a human newspaper that had been disposed of, and in the time she'd spent since, had taken to reading it, flipping through the articles with a sort of strange curiosity about humans.
Massive debt. Gun control. Articles about children and their psychological development if passed around in the foster system. Criminals on Death Row trying to stave off the inevitable.....
Humans were disgusting.

Perhaps her reverie about newspaper articles was the reason why her toxin was as distracted as she was. Not that Shehk mind much. She was only wanting a brief visit today, anyways. A distraction, of sorts, and perhaps she was more interested in getting a better look into this human 'world' of sorts. What it was the hunters were so desperately trying to protect.
And what she should have not been touching at all. That was one thing that came into the back of her mind every time she stepped foot into the hum - the Hunter's world.
A world with air full of smog, which nearly choked the Pricolici as she stepped through the portal, gagging and moving to pull one breast of her jacket up over her nose in an attempt to spare her senses, shuddering.
She'd just try to not breathe in this packed, yellow land at all.

Here, it seemed like it was impossible to not trip over a group of humans, Shehk found. They were everywhere, and there was a comparison that came to mind for it. Staying out of the street, she trailed along a sidewalk that seemed to make absolutely no sense to her, twisting between buildings, around corners, and to places that seemed to have no lack of eyes.
Not that they should have been able to see her. Most humans didn't see beings made of FEAR after all. Then again, maybe she should have been considering eating the ones that could. Just to spare her that particular nuisance. It was like selective breeding, really. Get rid of the unfavorable traits. Not that this place had any lack of 'breeding' to its name.
It was just impossible to look anywhere and not find a prime target for a little bit of toxin, really. Flashing lights and a crowd of curious onlookers was what attracted her attention, finally, and she released a puff of laced-fog into the group.
After all, it wasn't like they would notice a bit more rancid air.

Perhaps it was curiosity that made her inclined to stay, watching the gathering crowd growing bigger and bigger, a language she was unfamiliar with muttered between individuals. She could see the faint traces of people growing twitchy already as she moved through the crowd decidedly, a trail of her infected fog following after her as she added more to her previous dosage - in the name of more individuals having suddenly joined.
A small dose did nothing to bigger than expected numbers, after all, but she was still curious to see what everybody was gawking at, ultimately, as she looked curiously at the scene that was taped off, some very official looking individuals speaking in hushed voices to one another about something.
She would have been inclined to learn human tongues if it didn't seem like such a waste of air - air she wasn't breathing.

She moved carefully past the tape and into the building that was being investigated - it wasn't hard to trail after the uniformed individuals who were still murmuring to each other. Hushed. Something shameful, she assumed. Or suspicious. Maybe it was both.
Finally making her way into an open apartment - a tiny thing, it was difficult to edge around the people standing in it - she finally found the source of the hullaballoo - it appeared to have been a murder of some sort. At least, the body, which looked mostly untouched, barely blood around the mouth - seemed to be dead.
For a moment, Shehk considered the thought that came to mind, before she moved, carefully, pressing her lips to those of the corpse (she'd kissed the dead before - albeit they were a bit more animated) she blew fog into their mouth, hoping that her intended effect - to fill the corpse with toxin, especially when she knew it would be transported- would be successful.
But she wasn't going to be sticking around to find out.
Instead, she trailed out of the apartment.
Life was so plentiful that there were humans who made a living off of the lack of it. That was all she needed to know now.
