Noble had been a part of the world for far longer than he cared to recall. Always on the move, always searching. For answers to questions he barely dared to ask himself. For reasons to why his life was, as it was. For a place to settle -finally- and call home. Simply searching.
Sure, his life seemed to have him at a lot of major catastrophes and turning points in other lives. Homes destroyed, lives lost, young Pokemon orphaned. He was thinking of the Cryogonal who's family he had watched being destroyed by the sudden influx of fire-types in their homeland, setting everything aflame, his parents and the rest of his little tribe included.
He had been about to intervene to save the young ones life when he'd felt the presence of someone more powerful than even him, and recalled Escher the Palkia coming to the aid of the young Pokemon who hadn't been able to run, or defend it's self paralyzed by fear and Noble had almost expected him to perish along with everyone else if not from the fire Pokemon, then the Palkia. So he was genuinely surprised when he was not only saved but taken into the Palkia's care. It was an interesting thing for the Keldeo to witness.
He never stopped to think that just because he was at the scene of such horrific things, that they always ended on a positive note. No he'd started to think of himself as a sort of bad luck charm for people in the end. Still, he kept wandering, going where he felt a pull to go. No matter the end result.
He'd been traveling for awhile, observing strange things. Hybrids of Pokemon and human. At first he'd wondered...had the humans successfully mucked with genetics and spliced things together? Had they gone an all together more...bestial and taboo route? He'd wanted answers and so in his travels investigated and more than once he was left without full answers. Something was changing the Pokemon to more humanoid forms. How interesting.
News of a meeting filtered back to him. Escher, Jormungandr, and Venka. What an interesting group to gather together, especially as two of the three were enemies, though he suspected Jor got along with no one but his brother. He'd heard of the trouble Jor caused for Pyry the young Pokemon taken in by Escher, merely because he was Eschers ward and knew that did not endear Jor to Escher in any way.
"Guess I should go speak to Escher, pass along my news. He can get it to Venka." and Jor could go without the news until he was able to speak to him himself, it was best that way. He had no allegiance to either of them. So he took off searching, letting word spread.
He knew it would get back to Escher in the end, and a meeting would be set up. Noble wasn't disappointed, and he was on his way to the arranged meeting place. He noticed a slight table set up, food in place, and a child running around looking like a chicken with its head cut off. Interesting. Why was there a child here in this remote place?
Staying back in the trees he continued to watch and he heard a "It's all ready for you mister Escher sir! I have the table ready for you and Noble." the child's back was to Noble, but he wondered at what he could see, it didn't look like an actual child. There was a deeply respectful tone to the boys voice...it was a boy that much he could tell. He was bowing and near falling all over himself in front of the Palkia before he was hanging back out of the way. Very, very interesting.
Noble took the moment to step from the trees, and towards the clearing where the others were waiting for him.

Escher had wondered if there were any other Legendaries out there that had been turned, or had any information about the stars. His curiosity was far from the level of Venka's, but he was worried that the stars may pose harm further down the road. And he cared for his little Cryogonal ward; anything that could do him harm, he wanted to know about. So, when the Keldeo, Noble, had let it be known that he had information about the stars, he was more than willing to set up a meeting.
The Palkia stepped towards the table, inspecting the positioning of all the plates and utensils. His scrutinizing stare turned into a soft smile as he turned back to the child. "Well done, Pyry, you have done well in your etiquette studies. And just in time for our guest to arrive." Escher turned right before the Keldeo stepped into the clearing. "Welcome, Noble."
Escher motioned to the place setting opposite his own and took his seat. He sat upright, his clawed hands neatly folded in his lap. "You wished to speak to me of the stars, I take it?" His expression was very serious, as per the norm. It was rumored he had no sense of humor. He politely waited for the Keldeo to start.

Noble could hear the conversation between Escher and Pyry and he blinked. This was the little Cryogonal? He looked about the same age as maybe a seven year old human child, and as he turned Noble was able to see it was indeed the Pokemon. Now a child.
"He found one of the stars!" Noble was genuinely surprised, and Pyry remained quiet, a soft bow of his head at the exclamation. His own story could wait. He motioned to the empty spot at the table. "My master bids you to sit and join him, please." how very formal. Noble moved closer, tail swishing in the air.
"I have been traveling for years as you know, and this is a rather recent phenomenon." Well recent was a relative term, but compared to a lot..it was recent. "I have seen many who have changed due to this, in many stages. Some are children like your ward. Others are teens like a Teddiursa singer I saw at a nightclub with his Aggron bodyguard."
He paused looking thoughtful, then looked to Escher.
"Then there was the adult I saw. Escher, it affects even us. I saw him. I saw Arceus, grown. He looked like a human man, with his tail and some other features. There's no doubt it was him I could feel his power, but these things are strong enough to affect us legendaries."
His head was tossed lightly, agitated really. "The changes are different in each. Some looked more human with some Pokemon features like ears or tails. Others looked more Pokemon, but had humanoid hands instead of their usual paws and such. There is no rhyme or reason to it all."
He looked to Pyry then. "How long has it been since he has changed?" Pyry looked to Escher waiting for a nod to be given to allow him to answer, and there a quiet "Less than a year now sir." "I see. I do not know how quickly you will grow young Pyry...that is another thing that seems to have little rhyme and reason to it."
Noble looked back to Escher. "I do fear what happens if these stars fall into the wrong hands." there were plenty of those around too!

"I must confess that I have only seen Pyry, here." He motioned to the Cryogonal child with a small smile. "I have only heard of others being change. We do not get many guests this way."
"I have heard of the Arceus of Gaia, Eilam, being changed." Escher spoke calmly but raised an eyeridge at the mention of the growths. "I was not aware that these changes also entailed rapid growth." The Palkia leaned forward, staring intensely at the Keldeo. "Tell me, have you heard any of these changes going awry?" He was deadly serious with this question. He was worried for his ward, Pyry, and wanted no ill will to befall him. The large tail swished back and forth slowly as he awaited the answer.

"You are a bit off the beaten path Escher." a light smile from Noble who still looked rather thoughtful.
"I'm not sure how rapid the growth is. For some it takes a longer amount of time, than others. I wonder if it has something to do with desire. Such as the desire to be older. The old adage of wishful thinking comes to mind."
He looked to Pyry who was a few steps to the side watching intently should Escher signal he required something, anything. Noble studied the child a long moment before reluctantly nodding his head at the question.
"I have. But it was not so much awry as there were more Pokemon than power, apparently." he explained about the group of Exeggcute teens he'd observed in his travels.
"From what information I could gather they all changed but the one that found the star got the most power, and grew bigger, the rest look something akin to living dolls in size. So, seeing as Pyry is an individual, I am almost certain he is fine."

"For good reason, mind you," Escher replied flatly. He was never a fan of humans, with their annoying habit of trying to catch Pokemon, including Legendaries. But he would never intentionally hurt them, unless they deserved it. He realized they were still a young species and were always eager to explore and try to improve on themselves and their surroundings. As the Pokemon of Space, he could not fault them for that.
"Interesting. I was curious how it would affect Pokemon that lived in groups such as the Exeggcute." He thought for a moment in silence. "I have heard that evolution is not hindered, is this so?" He was drilling Noble with the questions, but only had the best of intentions. He wanted to gather all the information he could, should he be posed with the option of gaining a star.
"Have you thought about searching for these stars? Venka suggested that they find the Pokemon, as opposed the the opposite." Escher was curious, simply wondering where Noble's desires lied.

"I don't blame you Escher. It's easier to avoid the humans than to interact with them most of the time." a light smile given, he looking thoughtful at the question asked.
"Not that I'm aware. I saw a teen, a Lopunny who was a mix, and could hear talk of how he'd hoped once he'd evolved he'd be less cute. Apparently Lopunny was worse." a soft chuckle given. "So no, it does not seem evolution is hindered."
There was a surprised look and Noble shrugged. "I haven't thought about it one way or another. If they find a Pokemon, obviously I'm not meant to have one, and if we find them, well then I am still not meant to have one. I wouldn't know what to do in a different form anyhow." at least he was honest.
"What about you?" simple curiosity from him too.

"Sadly, I agree," the Palkia remarked about the Keldeo's idea of humans.
Escher managed an amused smile at Noble's comment of the Buneary-turned-Lopunny. "I've also heard of hybrids, not simply of Pokemon-humans, but of normal Pokemon that, once changed, have been given attributes of their father. There is a young hybrid down in the small village at the base of this mountain range, I believe it's called Mountainside. Not a terribly creative name, but I digress. The little Larvitar apparently ingested one of the stars, thinking it a snack. When he awoke the next morning, he was a hybrid of not only a Larvitar and a human, but a Totodile as well. His father is a Feraligatr."
"I would be lying if I said I have not thought about it." He leaned back a little, claw coming to his chin in thought. "On the one hand, it does seem rather intriguing to become part human; to venture into the unknown. On the other, there is, of course, always the danger of taking that first leap." He sat upright again. "It relieves me to hear that there doesn't seem to be many complications as far as the change goes."

Noble sat quietly for several long moments, deeply lost in thought, something was nagging at him but what was it? He was on his feet, shaking his head mane flying and tail swishing as he paced a little.
Then he stopped, a hoof pawing at the ground in sudden agitated dismay. "I forgot! I've run across a teenager...who...I don't know if it is choice keeping it from evolving, or complications but the teen is a mere Teddiursa still. However I do not see where the evolving process, or possible lack of affects Pyry here, fortunately. But of all the cases I've seen, or heard of, this is the first evolution aberration I've become aware of."
Still, he looked bothered by the idea, Escher s words about the young hybrid in Mountainside. "Showing attributes of both? How very interesting. Another side effect of the stars I wonder or something else.....this is very interesting."

Escher watched patiently as Noble paced back and forth. He leaned back, his tail keeping him upright until Noble voiced his thoughts. "Your guess is as good as mine." He shrugged, honestly not knowing what could have caused the little one in Mountainside to change so drastically.
He turned slightly, a soft gaze falling on Pyry. "What do you think, Pyry? You have gone through the change, do you have any insight you would like to share with us?" He smiled at the little Cryogonal child.

Noble looked between the pair, such an unlikely little family and he couldn't help but recall how the two had come together. He'd been there, in a way. Near enough to see, but not close enough to intercede in any way, it hadn't felt like the right thing to do.
Pyry looked up at Escher as he was spoken to, he had been listening closely, quietly while the two spoke and he looked thoughtful too. "The star...it came to me when I was minding my own business. I hadn't gone looking, I did not even know things like that were around.....I just remember seeing something really shiny and being drawn to it. I had to get to it, whatever it was. I still don't know what it was exactly. I was so tired after finding it, I fell asleep." he shrugged lightly.
"It's the strangest feeling waking up with hands, and feet and stuff though." it was! He rubbed the back of his neck, looking a little uncomfortable at being the center of attention, but he didn't fidget and squirm any. Just that little neck rub and a slight look of being uncomfortable before his arm dropped back to his side. "But...it is also one of the most hardest to describe feelings being changed. It's strange, it's scary...but its also very, very cool." well, to a kid, it was! He felt so much more useful to Escher now too!

Escher managed a deep chuckle. Pyry brought some light-hearted youth to the otherwise serious conversation. "I deem anything so different from the norm would be scary."
