User ImageShe sighed, her eyes flickering down along the ground. She let her eyes flicker up toward the sky for a few seconds. The sun was starting to rise. She had wandered all night, and do to that, she felt tired, and somewhat achy. Despite that, she still wanted to continue onward. She still wanted to find her way through the forest that she was moving through and find her brothers. But, so far, she hadn’t located him. And so far, she felt herself in slight distress that she couldn’t locate them. Xolotlcoatl sighed, her ears pinning some, before she paused and looked around slowly.

Where to go now?

The mare shook out her head, causing her bells to jingle quietly, before the noise slowed and silenced. She moved forward hooves hitting the ground in a soft manner. Every now and then, a twig would snap, or a bird would make a noise in the distance. She let her eyes flicker slowly around, before locking on a falcon not far off. It reminded her of her siblings, and as she thought it over, she figured that they must also know that, somehow, she was on earth. She was searching for them.

Xolotlcoatl glanced around, her eyes lingering every so often on something in the distance. If she kept this pace up, she was sure to find them… though she had a feeling that due to the size of these lands, it could take a lot longer. More than likely years. Unless she was lucky, or she sent word out, such as some sort of bird, to locate them… but that, once more, would be really hard to muster up, and have to have a ton of luck. The mare frowned, before shaking her head slowly as she moved forward at a gentle pace. Her wings flicked against her back, fluttering slightly, before folding lightly against her back.

She would find them; and soon. Xolotlcoatl knew it. She could feel it in her bones. So, taking a deep breath, she continued onward, her tail flicking every so often, her eyes locked forward. She would sleep later. Her ears flicked upward, hearing a few sounds, before tilting her head to the side. What was that? She shook her head some, dismissing the thought, before allowing herself to pause once more. What if… No. She frowned, eyebrows pulling together. No, she could not allow herself to feel as though she would be unable to find them. That would only cause her to feel helpless and lost.

The mare dipped her head down, sniffing at some plants, before lifting her head. Xolotlcoatl blinked, her eyes flickering across the dark tree bark, before they backtracked. What was that? She frowned, tilting her head, staring forward with sharp eyes. That was something far too bright to blend in with the forest. Her ears perked up, and an almost sense of wander entered into her body. Someone new, maybe? And someone that she could learn something new from.

User ImageHe felt so lost. It wasn’t a feeling of being physically lost, no, while Shoshoni had no idea where he was he still felt safe among the trees. Mentally and emotionally, he felt so lost, so alone, and so…dead. What was he to do without those he held so close to his heart? How was he supposed to cope with the fact that what he felt was his life was stolen by the claws of strangers? The images, the sounds, they never stopped invading his mind. Survivor’s guilt was slowly eating away at him and he didn’t know how to deal with it all.

His father died to keep the rest of the herd safe. His mother proved to slow to escape the claws of one of the attackers. His brother was gifted with death so that Shoshoni himself could have a chance to escape. As far as the stallion knew he was the only one to make it out of the jungle alive. Fate was truly a cruel being.

Slowly, Shoshoni started to break from his train of thought, and it was then that the orange stallion froze in his tracks. His heart felt as if it was about to explode from his chest as his eyes darted every which way. He felts eyes upon, and the sound of bells filled his head, and yet he saw nothing. Was something unseen stalking him, waiting and watching? Maybe he was just being paranoid, but still it was better to be safe than sorry.

No. No, that couldn’t be it. If so then surely the other animals would have scattered at the sight of danger.

Shoshoni slowly lowered his head, his ears pinning back and eyes set in a slight glare. Looking harder, he could make out the shape of another soquili. An angeni, from what he swore he could make out. Was he or she here for a reason, or was the other a sign of trouble?

“W-who are you? Show yourself! Are you friend or foe? I don’t want any trouble or harm from you…”

Xolotlcoalt felt a small smile move onto her features. Finally she would have someone she could talk to. She was growing bored wandering around by herself. She needed to talk to someone, even if it was just for a few short moments. Though, at the same time, she also knew that there could be a chance she would be run off. But, who knew what the future had in store for her. Maybe this stranger could be something more than just a stranger; she was always looking to have a friend; even if it didn’t last for long.

As she moved a bit closer, the Angeni saw it was a stallion. He was bright orange, with intricate black and a soft pale color markings. His hair was long, and the accessories that adorned his body reminded her of her own. She let a half smile shift onto her features, before she trotted forward carefully. She stopped short though, hearing his voice; his panic. What was wrong with them? Did he really think someone was out to harm him? Xolotlcoatl frowned a bit, tilting her head, before she moved forward slowly.

“Friend or foe..? Trouble?” The Angeni tilted her head the other way, ears perking up toward the sky. “Why would you think anyone would want to bring trouble to you?” Xolotlcoalt took a half step toward him, her wings shifting, fluttering some, causing a feather to fall lightly from her wing. “Of course I am not here to bring you trouble. On the contrary, I’m generally around to stop trouble from happening.” The mare shifted forward a bit, ensuring that she was fully visible to the stallion; mostly so he could know that she wasn’t a being coming to bring him harm.
