The Faun Chieftain stood, eyes closed and focused on the soft whispering on the wind. The breeze carried through the window on one of the upper levels of Laisidhiel, whirling around the stoic Chief, then twisting its way down the winding stairway within the Great Tree. Opening his eyes, he looked out over the landscape, peering into the distance towards the main isle of Telrunya with a frown.

"Something is coming."

The Chief remained still, only quirking an eyebrow in response to the voice echoing his thoughts. Once, you could track the Seer by the soft tapping of her staff over the floor of Laisidhiel. She'd stopped doing that quite so much these days, and sometimes she had a tendency to sneak up on Faun. Whether or not it was intentional, the Chief had not deigned to ask.

"Indeed," he grunted simply in reply, passing a glance over and downward towards the blind Seer's face. She seemed to be staring at nothing...or perhaps something that only she could 'see' in the distance. Rais turned his eyes back towards the sunlight dancing over the lands below. After a moment of silence and contemplation, he asked, "Is it a threat?"

User Image
Vanya paused, frowning slightly in concentration. Whatever was coming, it was something she'd never sensed before. And yet...it seemed also familiar. Odd. After a moment, she shook her head side to side briefly, admitting, "I do not think so. I sense no malice from this force. It is strange, and I do not wish to presume as of yet, but...this entity...it seems...familiar. I know not why; not yet," she added, feeling that beneath her calm exterior, she was still flailing, still trying to prove herself worthy of this role. As if she were constantly under the Chief's scrutiny. Not a good place to be.

Clearing her throat, she turned away from the Chief, almost feeling his judging gaze upon her. "Come, my Chief. Perhaps we best meet this strange new arrival on even ground." Without even thinking that she'd just given a forward order to her Chieftain, she turned and began making her way down the winding stairwell towards the base of the Great Tree. Her gait barely betrayed any hesitation before she placed each hoof on the subsequent step below, though she did keep one hand trailing lightly along the inner wall the of the Tree as she descended, her staff held loosely in the other.

Rais quirked a brow once more, this time in mild amusement. Had she just ordered him to follow her? Very well, he'd let her by with that one, seeing as he had been planning to do the same anyway. The ghost of a smirk played over his lips for a moment, the Chief turning and following the Seer down the stairway, then faded as his thoughts turned to the current issue. Granted, she could 'see' things that he could not, thanks to her gifts, her sacrifice...but he had a hard time believing on her word alone that this 'something' wasn't something malicious.

His first thought lay in protecting his people, from any threat from the outside. There were too many strange things happening lately, he would not overlook or underestimate another. His own wife had been the victim of an attack, and if what he heard from the Seer was true, so had she. His wife had been saved, thank the Earth, with the assistance of some winged Pae, from a twisted creature, reportedly from Dragnid Forest. He'd had mixed feelings on the issue, but had to admit, he was grateful that they had protected her, along with another of his own people. The Seer, however...her story was more disturbing. Aggressions from one of these winged Pae, accompanied by dark visions...the spirits did not bode well.

Thoughts weighing heavy on his mind, the pair reached the lowest level of the Tree, passing a few Faun going about their duties, and nodding in greeting before moving on. It was getting closer. Laisidhiel herself could feel it, and her voice whispered into Rais' mind. "They're almost here," he murmured, his own thought or simply repeating what he heard, he wasn't sure.

The Seer merely nodded, taking a place at his side, 'looking' out through the great doorway towards the lands beyond.

((This RP is open to all Faun and new Faunies! This is a chance for everyone to jump into RP, and experience coming to Laisidhiel aside your characters! The Chieftain and the Seer are waiting to welcome the Princesses and their people to the Great Tree, so every Faun is welcome to take part. The Princesses arranged for transport to the Isle in a luxurious ship, but since landing on the Isle, they've been drawn towards Laisidhiel by an unknown, unseen force, as if being called home. And so, they lead their people here, in search of answers, as well as safety and refuge.))

User Image Thunderlane swooped down from the sky above and skimmed the top of the trees with his hands. He was glad to finally be able to fly. When he first stepped off that coffin, he had needed to stretch his wings so bad that the poor things had literally ached. They could call that "ship" whatever they wanted to but it would forever be a coffin in his eyes. When you can't move through the sky and your feet are always touching the ground, life is miserable. Not to mention the feeling of swaying through the ocean... The thought made his stomach heave for the millionth time.

Nope. Flying through the sky was definitely his place. Speaking of flying.... Thunderlane stretched his wings out and flipped onto his back, letting the wind take him where it wanted. Oh man, he missed this.

User ImageWherever Vanya went, Takis was never far behind. Especially not since the nightmare, or vision, he supposed, she'd had not too long ago. But he knows his mate has duties to attend to, duties that didn't require his presence or interference. Still, he follows behind her at a distance as she makes her way to the center of the Great Tree. If this coming force was malicious, he'd be close by to defend his love. He'd give his life for her without hesitation.

Watching her hair sway with each hooffall, he sighs inwardly. Everything used to be so much easier...

User ImageVendimia follows behind her Princesses, mixed in among the 'herd' they'd made, walking from where their ship had landed toward....something. She's not sure what it is, but something is definitely drawing the group forward. The feeling excites and terrifies her. It feels like they're going home, but...how could they be?

As a huge tree looms into view, Vendimia can't help but gasp. It was...magnificent! What she'd give to be a Pegasus in this moment, to fly up above the group and have a better look. Maybe this is what they're being drawn to.

Closer and closer the group comes to the huge tree, and ever stronger grows the feeling of home, of belonging, somehow. And then, suddenly it felt like, they were there. Inside the hollow tree. A murmur ripples through the group, and Vendimia cranes her neck to see what the fuss is about. Her eyes widen as she catches a glimpse of....others. She's not sure what she expected their new home to be like, but she certainly hadn't expected it to be inhabited already. She hops up a little to get a look at their faces. They looked similar to their own group, but...different. One had spots all over her skin! The other had a long braid down his back. And both of them had....branches? Strange appendages growing from their heads, and silly little poofy tails. What strange folk. They look reasonably friendly, but she notices that they both carry staffs, and grows nervous.

Gypsy stood on the deck of the ship, not wanting to leave it, she had gotten several nice things off this ride from the crew and even the captain that she didn't want to leave, not when there could be more for her to get, but seeing the others leave she sighed and went with them, walking down the gangplank she looked back at the ship once more, wondering if she should stow away on it and decided not to especially if this place was full of other beings that she could scam stuff off then she would be fine here and besides, it would be fun traveling this new land and seeing what it held for her, her curiosity was a bit to heightened to just ignore.

User Image Lotus stayed by the side of the ship, waiting till everyone got off as she looked around this new place...at least the small bit of it that she was looking at, and whilst making sure her sister was alright she did wonder what new things they could create here for masks etc that her fellow Faunies would like "hmm..." she said as she saw a plant, walking down the ships gangplank she walked straight over to it and looked it over, wondering what properties it had and if it was good for a facial mask before shrugging it off and carrying on after the others.

User Image Lust flew a short distance off the ground, following her father who was just ahead of her, as a hunter to the Fauns he thought it was wise he went to look at who these new comers were, if he was going to have new Faun in his alignment then he wanted to make sure who they were as he didn't want to shoot one thinking it was some new strange animal that was allowed on their island but as for her she had her own duty. Though maybe it wasn't AS much of a duty as her leader had but if she were to report anything back to her other side, the Gods and Goddesses well...she had to be there as well even though her father hated it when she was meant to be grounded but a certain Goddess of Beauty couldn't go so it was up to her.

User Image Tafari walked on in front of his daughter and wondered what the new comers would be like, he had seen the ship come in when he was out hunting so he was curious as to what it might be and decided to go home and tell Lust he wouldn't be long when she spoke up that she wanted to go also, her aunt having seen the same ship when she went for her morning flight and came home to tell her apparently, he hated the idea of her grounding being lifted for this but what could he do? She WAS a demi goddess and if any of her kind wanted a report well, at least she could say she had seen them and interacted with them.

User ImageCelestia led the group with her sister, honestly glad to be able to stretch her legs once more. As the others, the restrained nature of the ship had been hard on her, though, naturally, she kept a calm and quiet smile through the trip, promising those with her a new, prosperous sort of life. Oh how she dearly hoped for this to be true; she was horrified with even the mere idea that she may betray her subjects by means of a lie. This would work, it had to. Surely they were a noble, generous people, the ones whose force pulled her to them.

Looking to either of her sides, behind her, even in the skies above, she could see them all, with looks of hope, thoughts full of wonderment and ready for new beginnings. With any luck, these ideas would not me ill-placed, and their lives would soon fall back into the routines they had been blessed with before.

As a grand tree came into view from the horizon, she felt the power it gave, the pull, the need to go to it. It was a rush unlike she had felt in a very, very long time, exhilarating. Perhaps it was like the power her own land once had, a power which had long since weakened and left them sensitive to those stronger. Or maybe it was just the unfamiliar situation which made it so acute.

Luna picked her way through the crowed of chattering ponies, some excited, some complaining, others yet even terrified. A frown had spread quickly across her face as sh spotted the celestial like figure of her elder sister up ahead. She was still clinging to her belief that it was a bad idea to leave Equestira. They had defeated many evils before, surely they could have handled whatever threatened their land now. The elements of harmony.....or had those all become just a big joke now? Surely they still meant something....And yet, here they were. Journeying across the waters on a strange sea vessel instead of their carriages pulled by pegasus ponies or that silly hot air balloon Twilight Sparkle and her friends preferred.

She stretched her wings, flapping them a few times, doing her best to hold in a snort of agitation. "You really think this wise sister? What will we do if...... for whatever reason... this 'force' is not kind to us?" she said sternly, but softly so that only Celestia could here. She then turned around to gaze at the handful of ponies they had brought with them once more. Their lives were practically in their hooves...or hands.

User Image

Cadence had spent her time on the ship consoling the ponies who were taking this strange trip much harder than the others. A smile was constantly plastered to her face though smiling wasn't exactly how she felt right now. She had her own inner doubts and fears she was suppressing at every moment. If her Aunt had promised a new rewarding life, then surely it had to be true. All she and the others had to do was keep strong and remain hopeful. If worse came to worse, she just knew they could pull together and create a new life for themselves somewhere on this strange new island.

And as she finished consoling another pony, she moved throughout the crowed, first checking on the small handful of crystal ponies that agreed to go with her, before spreading out in search of her love, Shining Armor. He had slipped away to take care of some of his captain duties, though now that the time to greet whatever awaited them drew near, she felt a strong desire to be by his side yet again. Her violet gaze worked furiously in search for him, as well as taking a mental head count that they had not lost anyone along the way for whatever reason, no matter how small or silly it might have seemed.

K'anpo fell back, hovering near the edge of the crowd and scanning the skies. Most had felt the ship had been too crowded and cramped, but he'd spent the nights in the open air on the deck, beneath the stars. The stars here were different. The nights too, to be honest. Their lady princess had ceased in her duties of raising the moon each night, as her sister had the sun. And yet, the heavenly bodies still took their turns in the sky. How odd.

It should have been more upsetting, but K'anpo only found it fascinating. What could it all mean?

If he could read these stars at all, from what observations he'd made since they landed in this new place, they'd been traveling for a few days from the docks, heading southeast. The docks, so to speak, still seemed to be under construction, but there were signs of more to come. And the land they'd arrived in, well...they'd seen beaches to the south, forests to the east, and even a large lake in what could have been the center of this new island, if their current position was any hint. They'd journeyed, for several days, in a straight line heading for some...strange force that seemed insistent on pulling them forward.

Well, he was no slacker, but this pegasus would be glad to rest his hooves. Flying was so much easier, and faster, and kept one closer to the sky. But, this was a journey, a journey with his peers, of a sort. It seemed only right that they travel together, even if that meant staying here on the ground with the unicorns and earth ponies. He glanced upwards towards the dark pegasus soaring in the sky. Well, most of them at least.

Rarity was reluctant to leave her home, her boutique, her...everything. She was only allowed to pack so many things and even then they kept telling her it was too much for the journey, she would have to leave some behind. In the end, all she had managed to get away with was several bolts of fabric, her sewing machine, her pins and needles, a few manikins, all her patterns, threads, several fashionable outfits for the journey, a blow up tent, a chest full of gems, her faithful rock diamond Tom and her cat Opalescence. "Oh Opal, I feel so naked out here! I don't like it.... I want to go home." she sighed. What if there were no jewels in this land? She could already feel her power weaken. She could levitate items at best, but finding jewels was most defiantly out of the question. What would she do if she couldn't find any precious jewels!? "OH THE MISER-REE-EE-EE-EE-EEEEEEAAHH!" she shouted dramatically, clasping one hand to her heart and throwing the other to her forehead, wobbling a bit in feign fainting spell. What was worse was she had been forced on a strange boat with bigger waves that nearly ruined her perfect mane.....and don't even get her started on the sea sickness!

She then signed when no one paid attention to her, not even her precious cat. Celestia seemed certain things would be alright and Twilight was almost positive that if Celestia thought it, then it would be true. And if her best friend thought things were going to be ok..... well then she just had to believe as well, right? "We have to stay strong and be positive..... right...Opal?" she said softly, as if she didn't believe a word she was saying. Though the only reply she received from her beloved cat was a hiss and a claw swipe she narrowly avoided. "Perhaps your right Opal, I just hope were both wrong..."

User Image

Hoity Toity frowned, having had no choice but to leave all he had behind, just as everyone else, but as far as he was concerned he had lost more than anyone. "Whose going to recognize me now..." he groaned to himself. He had been a well known famous fashion expert back in Canterlot.... now he was just a simple no body. An over dressed stranger in a strange new land. He doubted whatever people lived on this island had any idea what fashion even was. The thought of that alone horrified him. "Could someone at least bring me something strong...... a sparkling cider would do." he sighed dramatically, quite like the diva he was.

User Image

Lightning Dust scowled. She floated above everyone, her arms folded. She had been expected to drop everything, especially Wonderbolts academy to join this new land. Some of the Wonderbolts had come along, mainly Madam Spitfire and Soarin' but.... what was she going to do now? She couldn't even sit on clouds anymore! When attempting to try, she fell right through, nearly falling on her bottom. At least, thanks to training, she had managed to right herself and come in for a perfect landing! All in 6.5 seconds no less. With a huff, she growled. "This is so lame. I bet the people here can't even fly." she said, glancing around for any other pegasus ponies to see what they were up too.

The spunky faun, Caleigh, had made her way into the area, wary as she possibly can be. With her role of Matron for the fauns, she tend to those who need her motherly care. With an apple in one hand, she always says, 'an apple will feed your spirit.' Who knows if it was her tender touch that did that, rather than the delicious fruit that she bestow upon an unhappy faun? Never mind the dark times from before, the faun had maintained her side with the Chief's wife, her friend from before they were matched, before she was picked.

The dark red fabric lingered behind her as she walked, and quickly as possible. The short-haired faun maintained her stance, keeping up with the Chief. Caleigh sighed heavily and awaited her new duties, simply scanning the place with her soft smokey eyes. If none was needed of her for now, she will leave to attend to her best friend, Belvah.

Shining skirted around the "herd" after ensuring that all the faunies had left the boat in safety. Whatever guards had managed to make it thus far were given orders to scout around the herd and alert him if any thing was to seem of danger and to those guards that could fly: to keep an eye on the Princesses at all times.

Once all of that was said and done, he began weaving through the masses towards the front, giving minor encouragements of hope to those that seemed unsure. It wasn't long until he saw Cadence ahead and he quickly took his place at her side.

"Everyone seems to be sticking together well enough." he sighed, keeping himself in his 'on guard' stance. However, he inched closer to Cadence and wrapped an arm about her protectively. "How are you holding up, Sweety?" he asked in concern.

Aloe stepped gingerly off the boat after her sister. She didn't want to lose sight of her sister after so much that had happened.

She gave a small giggle as she watched as Lotus examine a plant. "Perhaps there are some locals dat will know of it's uses, ja?" she asked.

Mo sighed heavily as he stood outside his room. Things had been quiet around Laisidhiel since the storm had hit, and rumors of Vanya's dreams had been spreading as well. Something in Mo's gut told him something big was about to happen, but he couldn't place what yet. Not to mention, he didn't want to burden Chief Rais with his inquiries just yet. He had his hands full with everything else already...

Movement and familiar voices caught his attention and he noticed Vanya and Chief Rais walking together towards the main entrance to the great tree. He tilted his head in curiosity then snatched up his axe. Perhaps they saw something and were going to investigate?

Mo made his way down the stairwell to ground level and trotted swiftly towards them. "Is there something wrong, Chief Rais?" he asked as he moved into place beside the Chief and followed his gaze out into the wilds beyond. "Good evening, Miss Vanya..." he quickly added, not wanting to leave her out of the conversation.

The winds stirred and his nose twitched, the sensation in his gut growing stronger. Something was coming. It was coming now. This was undoubtedly what stirred the other two to the entrance of Laisidhiel.

"Oh, come on, would you two stop digging holes everywhere? Someone's going to come along and sprain a hoof, I swear. And besides, I'm not giving you both a bath again!" The dappled grey Faun sighed in exasperation, reaching up to rub his temples. Losing...patience...

The highly amused spirit wolf let her tongue loll, grinning with that 'doggy grin' at her bonded before encouraging the tot beside her to continue digging in the dirt. Raina couldn't help it; it was sweet, sweet revenge for the crazy things her bonded got them wrapped up in. Besides, this one was all his fault.

User Image

The Faun child pawed furiously at the dirt between his paws, long tail swishing happily in the air. Gotta' dig, gotta' dig, lookin' for treasure! That's what Ayna' taught him. You never knew what neat stuff was buried in the dirt 'til ya' dug it up! The only bad part was that momma' always insisted on him getting a bath later...

Raina was all too amused watching the tot cover himself in dirt while his harrassed father looked on; perhaps a bit too amused, as she didn't notice the sound of many hooves until they were nearly upon them. Whirling with a snarl, the startled wolf crouched with her ears laid back, fangs bared at the second of forest filled with hoofbeats.

Normally, she wouldn't have been concerned with the sound of hoofbeats...it either meant more Faun, or prey animals. She just didn't take well to being startled. The wolf's low growl carried well through the forest and Faroth was quick to respond to her first, then the sounds of hoofbeats. He had already leapt forward, grabbing his son and cradling him close. He'd protect the boy bodily from harm if need b--were those hooves? Shaking off the adrenaline spike shared with the wolf, he grumbled, "Why you gotta' do that every
time someone sneaks up on you, fuzzball?" The wolf responded with an unamused snort, planting her haunches in the dirt.

Faroth picked up his son, balanced him on his hip, and wondered who could be out here in this part of the forest...and that sounded like a lot of 'somebodies' out there. Curious, he strode forward, his wolf close on his heels, if looking sullen, and peered around a tree for a heck of a sight.

Pinkie Pie bounced along the trail in the mass of faunies. Literally.... she was bouncing.... wearing that forever Pinkie grin on her face as per the usual. And bouncing on top of her head - more so clinging for dear life - was Gummy, her faithful little critter companion.

User Image

The toothless alligator had a surprisingly firm grip of her mane with his jaws and flailed his chubby little scaled limbs each time his body flew up in the air.

Pinkie merely giggled as she bounced her way up to Rarity.

"Of course you're wrong, Rarity!" she giggled. "Princess Celestia has told everyone that everything's going to be ok! You just gotta think Pinkie thoughts!"

It was here that Pinkie ceased in her bouncing to inhale sharply in a delighted gasp! "Like! Think of all the wonderful surprises we might find here! Like all the different cakes and sweets we'll get to eat! Oh! And the PARTIES! All the different parties we'll get to be in! Cause, if you think about it REEEAALLLY hard, they'll be parties like never before because they're parties we've never been to before!"
