Booster Gold trotted through the forest, liking how the sun dapples made the gold of his suit sparkle. "Skeets, make a note that Beetle is going to be sad he missed this. There is bound to be some glorious grand adventure just around the corner. It's too lovely a day for some sort of evil not to happen."
>Yes, sir,< the little robot chimed, hovering beside it's master. >Should I also note that you are not at your peak performance today?<
"Psh, details!" Booster laughed. "How could i possibly lose in a fight? I'm too good-looking."
Recitative wasn't used to being alone. It was strange being without the herd and especially without her mother who had guided her her entire life. She felt nervous and that made her rather skittish. She had found herself resting in the forest, her wings tucked tightly to her body and the sun warming her softly. She had wondered if maybe she should seek out someone, perhaps head toward one of the villages she knew were around. However, she knew she needed to calm down and so she started to sing a soft lullaby, hoping that maybe it would bring her some luck.
The stallion paused, hearing the singing. "You hear that, Skeets?"
>Technically, no, sir, as I do lack ears, but my auditory receptors do detect a faint melodious sound to our north,< the robot answered.
"It could be a damsel in distress!"
>I doubt that.<
"She could be distressing right now. We should investigate," Booster decided, ignoring the mechanical sigh of his mechanical companion. He trotted toward the singing, looking for the source.
Smiling softly she leaned against the nearest tree and continued on toward the refrain, her favorite part and the notes always leaving her heart racing and her mood soaring higher. She remembered how her mother had tried to use it often to put her to sleep only to have it backfire and instead make her more energetic then before. She could hear a noise, similar to a voice in the distance but she didn't think much of it, thinking that whoever it was would just pass by.

Inelegantly crashing through the brush, Booster Gold found the source of the singing. By golly, it was a mare. She wasn't in distress, though, so that was mildly disappointing. Well, not for her, of course, but.. in general. "Excuse me, miss. Have you seen some folks in need of a big, strong, dashingly handsome stranger?" He flexed his muscles while asking.
>Why, sir? Is there one around here?< came the metallic snark of the hovering robot.
"Shut it, Skeets, or I'll have you dismantled," Booster grumbled at his companion through a somewhat clenched yet winning smile.

Suddenly pulled from her song by the loud noises of someone making their way toward her she blinked in surprise at the stallion before her. He had made such a noise that at first she wondered if he was somewhat lost like she was, but what he said claimed otherwise. "No, I'm afraid I've seen very few around let alone someone in need of help......though I may need someone in general to assist me."
Smiling shyly she laughed lightly at both the show and banter between the little contraption and his friend. They were entertaining and the stallion was certainly trying to be of help, even if he was perhaps a bit of a show off. "You see I'm...not exactly sure where I am, let alone if I'm supposed to be here or if it's a good idea to be here." She glanced around, suddenly aware again that she was alone. "And I haven't really been alone in quite a long time....."

Why, she was a damsel in distress! Okay, she was a damsel, anyway. Booster grinned. "Well, now. There's no need to be scared of being alone. I'm pretty sure this forest is free for anyone's use. Especially beautiful mares." Oh, he was laying it on thick. Yes, ineed. "Say, are those wings?"

Nodding to that her smile changed to a more sheepish one. "Yes but....I've never been alone. Not really anyway. So this is all really new to me. I had just thought to take a trip in the forest and well I'm more lost then I'd ever thought I'd be." Hesitating she blushed as he brought up her wings. "Yes, I thought of using them to fly over the forest but didn't want to draw unnecessary attention." Spreading her wings out slightly she felt herself blush further at his attention. Trying to distract him she gestured at his little contraption in curiosity. "What exactly is that?"

"Well, Skeets is a.... Skeets, I suppose. He's always been there," Booster chuckled, strolling closer, the sunlight glinting off his gold. "Never mind the floating tin can, though. How did you come to be lost here? I might be able to see you home."

It's name was Skeets. That it even had a name was possibly more amusing then was proper but that it's name was something as adorable as Skeets made her giggle slightly. Still she wanted to know more about it, as she'd never seen anything quite like the little contraption. How in the world did it fly without wings? She assumed it was magic, simply because that was the most obvious answer but still, it had spoken.
Slowly taking her eyes off the golden thing she fidgeted slightly. "I've left my herd to learn for myself what life is all about. I want to learn about others and travel to places I never knew about and be able to stand on my own hooves. I......didn't really consider that I didn't know where I was going." Looking up at him she couldn't help giving a hopeless look. "I'd gladly take you up on the offer to take me home, but I don't wish to return, and I'm not exactly sure where my new home is yet."

Booster considered her words, some of his usual bravado easing up. "Striking out on your own is a big step, sure. Since you don't have a place, you can come stay with me and Skeets. I share a grove with an Usida friend. You'll like the little chap. He's small, he doesn't eat much, and he's perfectly color coordinated with yours truly."

Giving him a slightly suspicious, but mostly playful look she laughed at that. "You may say it seriously, but it almost sounded like you're trying to trick me into being ummm 'with' you if you catch my drift." She had been trying to be playful but at the end she had turned the brightest red, not used to talking about such dirty things.
"Perfectly color coordinated? I didn't realize that males thought on such things." Trying to ease her blush she folded her wings tightly to her back again and smiled at him. "Though......so long as you aren't trying to take advantage I wouldn't mind returning to your grove. I could use some company."

"Give me some credit, pretty lady. If I was trying to get with you, I'd use pick up line number 326. Hit it, Skeets,: Booster replied, looking up at the hovering robot.
>Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?< Skeets chimed.
Booster nodded. "Yeah. I'm not trying to pick you up, beautiful. I really am trying to be a nice guy."
>This time.<

Blinking a bit she laughed, hard at the pick up line. She had never heard of such a silly line but she could understand how some women might be charmed by the cuteness of such a line. It would certainly have made her feel at ease, though she would never consider it to be a way to look at him in an attractive light so it was almost well he had avoided using it on her. "There are 326 of such lines? I am afraid to know the ones before that if it is only the 326th."
Smiling at the little contraption she shook her mane. "I believe he could be a gentleman if he tried......." Suddenly she realized how poorly her manners were lacking and she hastened to fix her horrible mistake. "I apologize! Truly apologize for my atrocious behavior but I have yet to introduce myself or ask for your name in return. I'm Recitative, and you are?"

The stallion grinned at her, moving to strike a rather fetching and heroic pose. "I'm Booster Gold, and I'm as precious as the metal, baby." So, maybe he was hitting on her a little. After all, she was beautiful and he was Booser Gold. Mostly, he was trying to be a decent guy. He knew if he left this poor mare to herself in the wilds, something might happen to her and he would never hear the end of it from Beetle. Oh, and he might feel bad, too.
"Sure, there's a lot a pick up lines. They help break the ice. Skeets?" He looked at the robot.
>Are your hooves tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day.<
"An oldie, but a goodie," Booster chuckled, nodding for the mare to follow him.

Breaking out into giggles she couldn't help but find him utterly precious, precisely as he said. However she'd never been called 'baby' and was wondering why he was comparing her to an infant. Was it because she acted so innocently like a babe? She didn't want to make a fool of herself so she didn't question the matter but instead turned to his little contraption as soon as Booster, who's name she was surely going to remember, mentioned his name.
As she began to follow the stallion, who she has now completely put her trust in, she couldn't help but beam at the line. "Oh how clever! What number is that one? I must say if I had any reason to use it I would most certainly use it!" She would never initiate such a thing though, as she'd be bumbling about over her words. She just wasn't used to such flirtation. With practice perhaps she could do something similar.

"No idea of the number on that one. Skeets has a program to spit out random pick-up lines," Booster explained, looking back at the mare.
>My potential is wasted,< the robot chirped with happy sarcasm.
