Sara had been off the radar for a good few weeks.
She had run away form her duties, her friends and the life she was living before. It had overwhelmed her, and she felt broken. When did death become so common that she could just shrug it off like it was nothing? Why did she fight for things that she knew would only hurt her in the end? She was fed up of it, fed up of everyone and everything. She just needed a break. For a little while, she needed to be someone else - anyone else.
Even though she had lived in luxury for so long, the warm beds and comforts of the temple had not made her soft. Alleyways made as good a bed as any, and the cold wind reminded her of the nights she used to spend in the barn back home. Home. She had not thought of her little farm for so long. When times were simpler, and she had her hold life ahead of her. Endless possibilities. Dreams.
She had ruined everything.
The Mongolian girl had never liked the idea of stealing, especially when people were so poor these days. So instead she had sold her robes, her jewelry, everything she was wearing of value, except her staff which she had wrapped in rags to hide its value, now it just looked like a large walking stick.
The girl wore a simple brown dress which tied at the waist. Her face was exposed, showing off the scars which she tried to hide for so long. They did not matter anymore, infact feeling the wind on bare skin felt liberating, like a huge burden was lifted off her shoulders. Her long teal hair tied up in two large, messy buns either side of her head. She had so much hair, even the buns drooped to her shoulders... Maybe it was time for a haircut. She would decide later. She always hated the idea of short hair, but right now she wondered why it meant so much to her. Why she had refused to cut it for so long.
Nobody would expect a Priestess to be in the slums living rough. They would think her dead before that. Nobody paid much attention to the poor these days, not when there was a war to win. The war, she sighed. ******** it.
Life on the streets was actually not that hard. Infact, she would go as far as saying she was actually enjoying herself. No more responsibility, no more worry. She had not used her powers in a long time, and that had made the voices of ghosts less prominent. Unless, the dead just did not want to talk to her anymore. Either way, she was not complaining. She could not remember the last time she knew silence. When she did not feel like she was being watched.
Today she had found herself at the docks. Sara loved the atmosphere here, the people might have been bustling, getting on with their busy lives, but the sea always seemed to calm. Even in the colder months. She also loved looking at the boats. Working on one must be so exciting! She ruffled her hair casually as she looked around. What was she to do today? She had no plans. Maybe she could explore a ship, maybe she would go cow riding. It was all in the wind, and the idea of freedom made her smile. She was in control again. Finally.

The docks were as lively as ever. Kiran weaved through the crowd, all noise as vendors called out to draw in customers and the customers shouting out their orders. The docks never seemed to see a dull day, and Kiran reveled in that excitement. It had been quite some time since he got to experience the rush of the daily routine at the docks. He didn't spend as much time fishing, being busy with missions or training or working at shipyard building boats. So today, he had nothing to sell, and he certainly wasn't looking to buy. He was simply there to enjoy himself during his day off, which he hoped wouldn't turn into another work day like the last time. He didn't mind getting asked to work on a ship, but he preferred if that ship didn't get attacked by pirates.
He shrugged off that thought. The pirates hadn't killed him, so he couldn't be that upset over the whole event. As he practically danced through the crowd, careful never to bump into anyone, he kept an ear fin out for any hint of gossip. The docks weren't exactly the greatest place for that, unless he was looking for sailor talk. Most of the crowd was far too busy trying to make their purchases before the vendors ran out of what they wanted for the day. They didn't offer do a lot of idle chatting. But there were rare moments when they did, and he planned to keep alert for anything of interest.
A mess of teal hair darted past his eyes as he glanced about, and Kiran drew up short as his gaze snapped back around to locate that head. He wasn't sure what about it caught his attention. Perhaps a distant memory resurfacing at the familiar coloring of hair? A plump woman bumped into his shoulder, muttering a rude "watch it" as she kept going. Standing still at the docks was usually not a wise choice because of all the bustling about that people did. Kiran moved through the crowd, heading toward the teal haired woman. As he approached, the woman looked more familiar, slowly drawing up that memory. Kiran placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Sara?"

Sara felt her spine straighten out as a hand found its way to her shoulder. Her breath hitched and for a moment the world seemed to stop, even though everyone was still talking around her, they seemed silent. Oh, why now? She turned her head ever so slowly, a wave of relief coming over her as her eyes met his, she recognized him instantly. Pale eyes scanned the people around them, nobody was looking, nobody had taken note. However, you never knew who was ears-dropping, it was something that she was sure Kiran knew all too well.
She turned around, shrugging off his hand and placing her own over his mouth. A long finger found her own lips as she made a hushing noise. "Shuuush. Don't call me that out here." She whispered before turning around, looking over her shoulder one more time, a sure side effect of paranoia. She did not expect to be caught out, it was sheer bad luck she had run into Kiran. However, she could not deny being happy to see a familiar face.
She grabbed his hand, pulling him down the streets, trying to avoid the bulk of the people. They needed someplace quiet to talk, somewhere that she could be sure people would not be spying on them, and she knew just the place. "Let's head of to the beach, we can talk there." She smiled at him, there was no reason for him to worry. She was not in any trouble, which she had to admit, would be the conclusion she would come to if one of her friends was acting as strange as she was.
Oh boy, this was going to be an interesting meeting.

Kiran wasn't sure what reaction he expected from the woman. He could have completely mistook the woman for Sara and be completely wrong. He didn't anticipate having a hand slapped over his mouth. Was this becoming a thing for him? He was really beginning to think that women didn't like when he talked if they had to keep silencing him. And he hadn't even really said anything yet! Other than her name.
He quirked an eyebrow at her, baffled by her reaction. What was going on? He sighed internally, realizing that he probably wouldn't get any answer unless he went along with her. Once she removed her hand from his mouth, he remained silent, as they were still on the docks, not the wisest place to hold a private discussion. There were far too many bodies around, and while most of the them appeared to busy with their own agendas, that didn't mean there wasn't other people here like Kiran with an ear fin open for gossip.
He let her pull him along until they reached the beach. The great expanse of sandy shore was devoid of any other Lunarians besides themselves. Kiran dropped onto the sand and leaned back on his arms. "So what am I supposed to call you if not your name?" he questioned as he stared up at her. He toed off his shoes, taking the opportunity of being on the beach to bury his toes in the sand. "And what exactly is going on? Is someone after you?"
It seemed like the most logical assumption to make. If she wanted to keep her identity secret and could only speak away from prying ears, then what else could it be other than someone was looking for her? Kiran couldn't think of anything that Sara might have done to cause such trouble for herself, but they hadn't seen each in a long while. A lot could have happened to her in that time, and he would never know about it.

"I have not thought that far yet. I was not expecting to bump into anyone that knew me." The priestess sighed, that was a good point, what was he meant to call her? Her name, she presumed, just not out in public. Could he just not call her anything? You did not need a name to address someone.
Sara knelled down very ungracefully, hitting the sand with a thud like she had just run one-thousand miles or so. She sighed and shook her head, how was she meant to explain this? "No. I am not in any kind of trouble. I just... I ran away Kiran, and I am not ready to go back home yet." That was the best she could do, pale eyes looked to the side as she picked up some sand, watching the small grains fall threw her fingers. Only children were meant to run away, a grown woman doing so was... a little sad really. At least in her opinion.
"I know that might sound stupid. I just needed a break from... well, everything. So I have been hiding out here for a couple of weeks." She went on to explain, running her toes through the sand aswell, before letting it all fall back into place. She let her body fall back so she flopped flat on the surface on the beach. Looking up at the clear sky above them. "But... that is enough about me, it is nice to see you again. I am sorry about... kidnapping you?"
Was there any better word for dragging him off against his will?

"People never ask for your name?" Kiran asked curiously as he tilted his head to the side, resting it somewhat on his shoulder. He didn't exactly expect to bump into anyone that he knew at the docks today either, but here they were with the curious little mystery of why Sara was keeping her identity a secret.
He dug his toes into the sand, wiggling them about and feeling the rough particles shift and rub between his toes. Not in trouble? Well, that was at least a relief. He couldn't imagine how Sara might have gotten herself wrapped up in some kind of trouble. "Ran away?" he almost shouted but managed to restrain himself and keep his voice at a normal level. They were quite alone on the beach and far from hearing range of the docks, but he could be sure that there wasn't ears around listening. He usually was the ears eavesdropping on conversations.
He frowned, his brow drawing together as he stared at her. "It couldn't be all that bad though, right?" He didn't know what life offered her at home. He moved out of his parents' home for the simple fact that his mother was insufferably overbearing. He couldn't keep living under that roof without wanting to explode with frustration. But he didn't go into hiding when he moved out.
His shoulder rolled in a small shrug. "At least you didn't tie me up." Kiran grinned playfully.
