 | Prologue | ___________________________ Four hundred years ago, in the land Ovitlia, the races of the world--the mermaids, elves, humans, Dwarves, Minotaur's, even the Dragons, and so on--entered a golden age of peace. But it was not to last. Over the course of ten years, a darkness from the world of gods, Lithnial, where sentient beings reside and the souls of the dead are said to go, leaked onto the land of Ovitlia. On the tenth year, the darkness rose up from it's hiding places and waged war on the world. All the races of the world joined forces, and they fought against the darkness. With it's corruption, it poisoned trees, plants, minds, and even flesh, against it's enemies. That made sending armies to each other difficult. The land was scarred, and several places among the world became inhabitable because of the darkness; it had the same effect for people as well. Six years went by; six years of war, trials, and blood. Good was winning. They could see victory imminent, and that gave hope. With hope, strength. Darkness saw their death, their defeat. One night, the Darkness hatched a plan, then split up it's armies like breaking glass and vanished. The Darkness disappeared like water sinking into soil. The armies of the world sent their forces out to hunt and kill the armies of Darkness. The amount of men they killed wasn't as big as they had hoped they would get. Over the course of two years the squads sent out to kill the forces of Darkness that escaped, steadily stopped being sent. The Darkness, nor its minions, were ever heard from again. Three hundred and eighty-two years later, Darkness finally begins to stir.

Plus, to have such powers as sorcery and fire control, you need education and experience. How much education and experience depends on the facts of the character. Now, how much experience depends on how old your character is or how soon he/she started practicing magic(and a lot of stuff fall under Magic's category.) Such education is located in schools and colleges magic. Magic schools and colleges are located in the big cities, and are the only places you can get education about magic unless you know a friend or relative who is willing to teach you. Such schools are located in the big cities with high population. Just remember: schools in lesser towns have fewer and lesser spells and magics to teach said student, where as schools located in big towns, with bigger funding and more wizards, know more to teach their pupils. #9 | Remember: In magic, things can conflict, so you can't wield, say, water & fire together, for example, unless your are at an advanced level. #10 | About every week or ten days--if you have not posted--I will send you a notification(an update if you will) on the goings-on in the rp, so you can stay up to date on the rp. #11 | And last, but not least: no auto hitting or godmoding

 | Plot | ___________________________ Master Logan Victor Damon lives in the fancy mansion up the mountain pass close to the two mountains named, Twin Sister's Mountain. His rich family had been living there for many generations to today, but recently, his father and mother passed away do to sickness. His other five siblings--two baby sisters, two elder sisters, and elder brother--have not been seen for some time. Down the mountain is the town, Remna, meaning, "little sister", named in relation to the mountains. It is town Logan sets his eye. In several years he had not entered town, staying secluded in the forest and mansion, where as his brother and sisters would visit. Towns people didn't know why he stayed in. So they were surprised when a servant came from the mansion in the servants carriage bearing a message from Logan in black ink. It read: Dear residents of Remna,
It has saddened me that my beloved father and mother have passed away into Lithnial. I am sure that some of you who have lost a loved one understands why I weep. I know, however, that my father and mother are with each other, so it grants me joy.
I yearn now, not for my parents, but for companionship. That is why I say this: I will accept any six guests from Remna into my household; three males, three females. They will be treated as honored guests with the ability to roam anywhere they please. Clothes will also be provided as well as other needs they ask. In return I ask that they obey the house rules and not enter any restricted area's.
Their stay will last two years, but if they wish to leave, they can.
In two week my servant will come to retrieve this paper. Please write your name along the line. After sunrise my carriage will come to collect the party of six. By the allotted time, please wait at the pass.

 | The Sights | ___________________________ - The Mansion - Daytime ~ Nighttime From the pass up the mountain the mansion at first looks small, however, once up close you see that it is actually very big. A whole new portion of building had been made onto the mansion. New bedrooms, hall ways, bathing area's, and a couple doors leading into large area's with 'KEEP OUT' signs on the front. The mansion has at least four floors, two or three towers, and a big attic. On the first floor is the big, vertical, rectangular Living Room just through the double doors on the front of the mansion. The master staircase is across the room inside the Living Room. Also on the first floor is the Game Room, Study, Kitchen and Dining Room. The Study is connected to the large Library whose height takes up two floors. On the upper walls of the Library are some balcony's on the second floor. The Library is the largest part of the mansion. The Kitchen and Dining Room are connected. In the Kitchen is where the Root Cellar is kept. The rest of the first floor is only the main hall connecting most of the main rooms, some halls and corridors, and the added room. In truth, it's the Laboratory. The second floor consists of big bedrooms, empty rooms, and open rooms with brilliant views of the forest. A few of the back rooms are restricted. The third floor is likewise restricted. The fourth floor, the smallest floor of them all, is a basic room with a door leading up to the attic. It also doubles as a storage room, so crates and boxes decorate the room. One door of many leads to the attic, the other doors are shortcuts to the towers, although there are other ways to the towers. Along a cobblestone path in the backyard leads off to the left where the green house is located, facing the opposite side of the yard. Next to the Green House on it's left, is the Bath House. Like the Green house, it's walls too are glass, however, you can't see through this glass. The Bath House is six, seven, feet wide and eight feet across. White marble make up the pool, where as tile plates cover the dirt. It is here the lords and ladies of the house bath. Between the upper corners of the Green and Bath House is the well, where the mansion retrieves it's water. Under a collection of trees--in the front lawn close to the top right corner--a little shack had been assembled for a two purpose job. One half was for the horses that pulled the coaches, and the other half was for the two coaches that belonged to the Damon family. One is the royal coach; grand and fit for the family only. The servants coach is the same as the other, but less decorated and more modern. Each coach can hold up to six people, three on each side. Pulling the coaches are two big horses, the only horses the Damon family have. Because they only own two horses, the little shack is well kept. The whole mansion and it's yard's are fenced in with a gate out front. The mansion and it's attachments are generations old, but well kept nonetheless.- The Forest - Daytime ~ Nighttime The pond sighted in the picture can be located approximately half a mile behind the manor. A little path leads to the pond. Full of vibrant fish and life, it makes a great addition to the lush green forests it inhabits. In daytime the forest is equipped with natural beauty and contains lots of flowers. Down the mountain is Porcelain Lake full of pure water, where the people of Remna get their water. The animals reflect the forests health and beauty. At night, the coin flips and the forest becomes dark and dangerous, people never knowing what's out there.- Remna - Daytime Remna is a decent town along the human's borders. Because it is along the border and along the road, it picks up travelers; therefore it is prosperous enough to be a decent town rather than a village. Because Remna doesn't have a lord nor royalty, they always depended on the Damon family to take care of the politics. The reason of their continuous wealth. So long as the Damon family didn't run them into the ground with their limited rule over Remna, the people were pretty to take care of themselves. The people of Remna had no problem with the Damon family, although, recent years have caused the people to be worried or cautious.

The servants can be actual rpers. I've put them up so people can join even when all the guests have been taken. All available servants will controlled as NPC's by me. Oh! And I suggest you don't pick an NPC unless you plan to be a bad guy.

 | Basic Race Information | ___________________________ - Humans - Humans are the basic creatures of the world. Although they can learn magic, they are not as gifted in it as other races like the elves are. Humans come in all shapes and sizes. There are also many mixes of humans, such as half-human half-elven, although they aren't many mixes. There are restrictions however. Nobody can be half-vampire, and half-mermaids are extremely rare, and although half-elves are less rare than mermaids, they are rare nonetheless. The Human life expectancy is one hundred years at most.- Elves - Unlike Humans, Elves are the eldest, wisest, and immortal among the races. Compared to humans, their beauty is unparalleled. They keep their beauty mostly from the world unfortunately, staying in their forests in solitude. Although extremely gifted in magic, they are the most sensitive to nature, valuing life the greatest. When faced with danger, Elves prefer bows and arrows and magic over swords and shields. That does not mean they cannot die. It had been misinterpreted by people to think that Elves don't die, but they only avoid age. The right word for the Elves would be Eternal Youth, not immortality. Though it is not every day you see a half-human elf, it isn't so rare that you see a half-mermaid half-elf. You see, Elves and Mermaids have the same value for life, even if mermaids don't feel as strongly as the elves do.- Dwarves - Dwarves are the shortest out of them all. Being about four-foot in height, they only reach waist height to grown men. Despite their length though, dwarves are uncontested in crafting, blacksmithing, and metal work, on top of carving. They are a master in most anything they can work with their hands, just like the elves are gifted in magic. To dwarves, magic is loathed and feared. There has yet to be a dwarf who has even studied magic. They much like crafting and using axes than magic. Even if they wanted to use magic, they wouldn't be able to get very far. Maybe a couple basic spells. Dwarves aren't that gifted in magic. Dwarves don't travel. They prefer to stay in their mountains and underground. There are dwarves though, who travel and making money off what they make with their hands. The reasons vary depending on the dwarf. Of course, on every dwarf you most certainly will find a beard on them. They hold great pride in their beards. The Dwarf life expectancy is three hundred years.- Vampires - Hated, you don't see many vampires in the open. Because they drink the blood of humans to survive, they are hunted. That threat from the world forces vampires to hide among the people, or seek solitude from where ever they can find. So long as vampires drink the blood of innocents, they can regenerate and live forever. However, they have weakness. Vampires cannot go out in sunlight without having drank blood recently(in five-six hours they have to drink again); and are extremely weak against fire. In magic, vampires are really gifted in the darker form of magic, and as gift else where in magic as humans are. Unlike humans, vampires have enhanced strength and speed, but only by one or two times. Their sense of smell, though, is great, but only in detecting blood.- Mermaids/Mermen - The life expectancy of a normal mermaid is four hundred fifty years. Non of those years are wasted. Like the elves, mermaid's possess great beauty and high regard for life, regardless of whose life it is. Mermaids are the kings and queens of the sea with the natural ability to speak to the fish of the ocean. In the ocean, they are the fastest. Having the lower half of a fish and the upper half of a human, they are a sight to behold. Their fins vary in color, and are often rainbows when seen in groups. These facts are the same for their opposite sex, mermen. In magic, mermaids and mermen are only truly gifted in healing, the magics involving the ocean and water, and every mermaid and merman is taught to shift their lower half to match their upper half on land with magic. Their choice of weapon is the spear and bow and arrow. They live at Mermaid Island off the coast just outside the elves border. Because Mermaids and Elves have so much in common, they are often attracted to each other, and so give birth to half-mermaids with pointed ears and with the natural abilities of the mermaids. On land the half-mermaid's fins turn to legs like humans, but once in water, they go back to fins. These half-mermaids life expectancy is five hundred years. At least half the mermaids and mermen of Mermaid Island prefer to stay at home or visit the elves land, but some go out and visit the world, or help out. The reasons vary.- Demons - These creatures are not to be confused with the demons of Hell. They are nothing alike, and do not come from the same place. In fact, their ancestors come from the corrupt beings who were taken by darkness all those years ago. The rogue corrupt beings bear children, and those children bear children, and so on until present time. Demons can be of any race, Elf, Dwarf, Human, usually called, Demon Elf, or Demon Human, if they are full blooded. Half-Elf half-human, if they are not. Being a part of darkness, demon kin have a tendency to be naturally gifted in magic of the darker variety, more so than black magic, although that falls under the category. Physically, demon kin can be stronger and/or faster than humans, though most are not as strong as vampires. Those who are stronger than vampires, are strongly corrupted. The life expectancy of a demon kin ranges. From either three hundred to six hundred. Nobody can say for sure.- Dragons - Among all of the races on the world, dragons are the rarest, less seen than a mermaid living with the dwarves underground. Although rarely seen, Dragon live longer, and are older, than any race in existence, even past the elves. Time for Dragons pass by like shooting stars flying across the sky. Worshiped as gods by some people of every race, dragons are said to possess powers to rival the gods, but it's source is argued to this day. The consensus agreed upon roughly by the scholars of the races is that dragons first came upon the world in times long gone when food was abundant for them. It was speculated that during that time there was a war that threatened the planet. When times were dire, the gods assembled and created the dragons. Upon the creation of the dragons the gods gifted the dragons a bond to the world where their powers in magic came from. Trying to assimilate the type of magic they used, scholars and wizards theorized that their magic was a purer wizardry; necromancy's opposite twin sister. Something like the power of the planet. Nobody knows for sure, and states that they may be wrong, but along the same lines. That theory boosted by examining the dragons fossils. When Dragon's reach a certain age, they steadily fall into a sleep like hibernation. When that happens they become part of the land around them; forests grow across them; earth collects on their bodies; and are buried. That's how some islands are created, some mountains, and rocky terrain. They don't know how many dragons lay dormant in the earth and ocean. Though dragons can grow more colossal than anything man made, they do have a size limit. Living across the western sea in another country, nobody sees them. Because they live so far away nobody knows much about them. No scholar or ship has ever returned from their trip across the sea.- Shape Shifters - The Shape Shifter race is one of the most diverse. Each shifter is born with an innate magic that allows them to change shape into another living being. They cannot take forms of humanoid creates like vampires or elves, and they cannot take the shape of legendary creatures like dragons. As children, the magic is wild and uncontrolled and often these children change into whatever best fits the needs of the situation. At the age of 13, there is a Rites Ceremony. During these events, all children of age must journey to the central totem of their respective village. They meditate, search within themselves to find the form that best fits them, and their magic is isolated to that shape, like a wolf or snake. Once a form is chosen, they may choose another magic of the elements, such as fire or water, or they can choose to be healers. The next two years are spent to perfect these abilities. Shape shifters cannot take more than one different shape, once a second form is chosen, that's it. Generally, the weapons of choice are the natural defenses of their second form or knives. Some train with bows, but that's not very often. As a whole, the race is collectively non-violent. Since any animal or creature they meet can be a brother, they tend to be very kind to nature and its inhabitants. Shape shifters stop aging physically at 25 years. The average life span is between 700 to 800 years. They stay in small villages throughout different parts of the world, some on islands, some in forests, some in deserts, some even in snowy lands. The totem of the village is dependent on where the village is located. These totems are depictions of powerful animals, like bears, hawks, sharks, etc.Remember: this is basic information, so you are not limited by these races. Although if there is a new addition that isn't marked here, I will update it if I can.
