Heskil had been in town for a couple of days now. As usual she had had no problems with settling in, and had headed out to travel the town on her second day. Today, she had gone to Okugi park to enjoy the snow, see the scenery, and hopefully meet someone new.
She was lying in the snow near the base of a tree. The sun was weak but pleasant, catching the snow and making it sparkle and gleam, giving her a soothing show to watch. Heskil smiled slightly, before lowering her head to her front hooves and sighing contentedly.
She loved this place. The snow smothered the ground and the trees, causing a brilliant contrast with the evergreens which thrived even in this cold weather. There were very few leaves to snag in her mane or catch her horns; her fur kept her warm enough; the snow was astoundingly beautiful; and if anyone wasn't appreciating the season before she met them, they tended to be perfectly contented afterwards. There were plenty of humans willing to help her, feed her, and keep her warm; and in this town there was no shortage of other Maneki Neko to make friends with. Heskil felt as though she had every reason for contentment.
