Art class? Art class?! Nevena wasn't sure if she was offended or delighted when told that she needed to improve her creativity aspect thanks to Amityville's low scores as a whole. Naturally, being told to do anything was enough to dig her heels in, but she didn't have much of a choice. With a dramatic sigh and a toss of her hissing hair, Nevena coolly eyed the boil sitting across from her. He was interesting enough, she supposed. Taller than her, which was automatically irksome, but she could pretend well enough that she didn't care!
When the teacher called out that today's lesson would consist of drawing their neighbors, the gorgon's eyes narrowed to thin slits. The nerve! Not only was she forced to take a class on drawing, but she got no creative license to boot?
Drawing herself up haughtily, she looked the undead boil up and down. "You'd better do your best to look scary, or I'm not responsible if you come out looking hideous." She informed him. Such class, Nevena.

TK didn’t mind art class. It was just that he would’ve preferred a class where he could read an interesting book. Well, the skeleton supposed that sitting down with a sketchbook was not bad. It was sort of a hobby of his, but definitely not a significant one. Professor Zixil was an alright teacher, but not his favorite. He idly twirled the pencil in his hands as he patiently sat in his stool while listening to the professor’s instructions to draw their neighbor.
He could hear hissing snakes, which hardly bothered him. TK had had the sense to look both sides at his neighbors at the beginning of class. He already knew the hissing belonged to the gorgon’s hair. Nevena may be annoyed, but TK would comply with the instructions. How bad could it be? Although, he wasn’t really into his drawing today. It was utterly possible he would majorly botch up this sketch.
“I suppose I will try,” he answered calmly as he spun around to face the ghoul, his golden eyes glowing dimly in the light. “Though I think looking hideous is not so bad either.” The corner of his mouth twitched into a grin. “Nevena, was it? A pleasure to meet you. I am Taiki, but you may call me TK.”

Nevena offered a contemptuous little sniff in reply, but the corners of her lips did twitch. Clever boil! Not that it had been particularly hard to see the potential compliment in that, mind you, but she wasn't going to let him off so easily. Snatching up a pencil, she tapped it against her lips, her own glowing eyes narrowing as she studied him more thoroughly. "Nevena. Why do you want to be known as TK, instead of Taiki?"
Not anything really important, but she was curious!
Pulling over a pad of paper, she narrowed her eyes once more as though to concentrate. Time to start!
"There." She announced a bit smugly, flipping the paper around so he could see. "Hideous enough for you?"

He watched her sniff back at him, but it was difficult to discern what exactly her reaction was. So, TK opted to stay seated on his stool and remain still as possible while Nevena busily looked down at her paper and sketched. The skeleton mused about the gorgon’s artistic abilities. He only happened to know her name because they were in the same class, but that was mostly it. He realized she had sisters, but any details were shrouded in mystery. Hmmm.
“I thought a Westernized nickname would be useful, although I have noticed that most students seem rather comfortable with Taiki or TK. I suppose if you would rather call me Taiki, that is perfectly fine.”
He scrutinized the eyes on her paper. “I see.” The answer was vague as he pulled out his own sketchbook and began to draw something before revealing his work in progress.
“I think this is an appropriate response, do you not agree?”
It was difficult to tell if he was serious or somehow trolling.

It was hardly any fun when he remained so unflappable. Nevena narrowed her eyes for a moment, trying to see whether or not TK was actually upset if she called him by his full name... but it didn't seem likely. No fun at all!
She was distracted as he showed her something in turn, just staring for a moment. "What in Jack's name is that?" She demanded, unconsciously stroking her hair as though he was about to insult her horrendously in some fashion.
In the meantime, she'd scribble something down, herself! It was beautiful, if she said so herself.

TK smiled calmly at Nevena as she narrowed her gaze at him. He tilted his head to the side to show his mild curiosity, but his expression remained largely the same. His smile stretched wider as he answered, “Your head. The start of it, at least.” The skeleton looked even more amused as she stroked her hair for Jack only knows why, although she appeared quite insulted. “I assure you, I have no intention of insulting you.”
He straightened up in a curious attempt to see her progress on the sketch before he continued on his own work. It was…okay, he supposed. It lacked detail and the eye was far too big compared to the head, but at least she would know it was an eye. TK looked up briefly. “I hear you have siblings?”

"You'd best not." The gorgon muttered under her breath, giving a haughty little sniff as though she was certain she'd managed to instill some sort of fear or respect in the boil. After all, he drew a much better eye after that, so perhaps he just needed someone to give him a proper tongue-lashing now and again! No, Nevena, stop, what are you doing.
"Two sisters." There was no masking her pride at that, and she straightened a bit luxuriously. "One older, one younger. I keep them in line. They're both pains, but someone's got to do it!" Just because Bethelusa was older didn't mean that she was the more mature of them, oh no! The fact that he'd heard of them though, oh, that stroked her ego nicely. "Do you?" Time to doodle while she talked...

He smiled reassuringly, his eyes crinkling with amusement. “I would never think of doing such a thing, I assure you.”
TK quirked an eyebrow as Nevena’s attitude seemed to suddenly change. She appeared to hold her siblings in high esteem, despite her comments. “I see. So you are the middle child. An interesting position, in my opinion.” He looked back down at his sketch and whimsically drew in the other eye. It looked almost identical to the other, but for some reason flipping it made it look odd. Plus it wasn’t exactly perfectly aligned with the other one. Or perhaps that was just him. Maybe she’d never notice.
He looked at the gorgon, surprised at her inquiry. He hadn’t expected her to ask him something. TK had predicted she would keep yammering on about herself. She certainly seemed egocentric enough for it. Hmm. “Well,” he began after regaining his calm, “I have an older sister and brother. I am the youngest in my family.”
