It seemed like today was going to be a bit rough. Why? The sun was nearly at it's zenith and the white lioness still hadn't completely gotten up. Normally awake and ready to start the day before the first bird sang, this was rather out of the ordinary for her.
Blinking blue-green eyes away slowly, the white lioness slowly pulled herself up to a seated position. She needed to find something to do, however her normal job was definitely not something she could do at this time. That called for an early start.
Perhaps... she would babysit? The clan always requested help with minding the cubs while they hunted. She hadn't done it before either and it sounded simple enough.
Yes. Making the decision that she would help out Tafuki made her way to the center of the clan where the caregivers were often found. Perhaps she'd learn a thing or two.

Tsi-Tsi was bored. Again. As usual. And after he'd attempted to relieve his boredom on his siblings, the juvenile had found himself temporarily evicted from the area where said siblings were. Well, who'd said he really wanted to play with them anyway? There were plenty of other lions in the Bird Clan, and he could easily find one to occupy his time with. The blue and white lioness walking purposefully towards the Clan center seemed like a good bet...or rather her tail did. Hiding behind a clump of grasses, the yellow juvenile eyed the tempting target and prepared to pounce.

Continuing forward, oblivious to the 'danger' that was behind her, Tafuki searched the clan for signs of where to go. It had been an incredibly long time since she had truly wandered into the heart of the clan and longer still since she had been there during busy hours. What was more, no one was truly around to ask questions to.
Huffing a sigh of slight annoyance Tafuki picked a random direction to start off towards, flicking her tail slowly as she went. Unknowingly tempting the lurker with obliviousness.
Stopping suddenly, however, as she realized that the direction she was going wasn't where she needed to be the white lion stopped completely.
"What way...."

Wait for it...wait for it...
Tsi-Tsi curbed his impatience as the grownup's tail moved back and forth so very slowly, tempting him with its every movement. His parents had been trying to teach patience and waiting for the right moment. But if he gave in, the right moment would never come.
The boy almost broke cover and pounced a dozen times before the moment came.
She stopped completely.
With a whoop of glee, the yellow juvenile burst out from behind the grasses and darted straight at the blue tail, looking to trap it between his paws.

At the sudden sound and movement, Tafuki nearly jumped out of her skin. However, something prevented her from doing that! With bulging eyes, the white lioness looked over at her back slowly and at her tail. Her heart racing as adrenaline poured through her body.
Was it a monster? Maybe a large animal... Even a God?! No... No it wasn't. Releasing a breath she hadn't even realized she had been holding, Tafuki just smiled awkwardly.
It seemed a cub had found her tail to be the target of a game. Staring at him she attempted to wiggle her tail. Nope, the cub was much too heavy for her to wiggle out of.
"U-Ummmm... Can I help you...."

Once the tail was secured Tsi-Tsi turned his attention to its owner. What was she asking? Could she help him? The juvenile thought about that for a moment.
"Nope!" he replied happily. "I've got what I wanted." Nevermind that it was attached to the grownup's body. That wouldn't stop him from having all sorts of fun with it!
Not to mention that the limb was rather attractive. Even if it wasn't covered with tattoos the way it would be if she'd been born into the pride, it was still very pretty and Tsi-Tsi hadn't seen a tail quite like it before.
Oh yes, he liked to pounce tails and was something of a connoiseur.

Tafuki's awkward grin suddenly fell at the cubs reply. Was this how all cubs acted? What in the world had she gotten herself into? Staring at him while she thought of a way out of the situation, her mind drew a blank.
"C-Can I have it back?" Awkwardly smiling at the cub she attempted to pull her sensitive tail away from him.
Yet she couldn't do that, it seemed he had it trapped well. He'd definitely make a great hunter one way, but using her tail as an experiment wasn't exactly the best way to learn.
"Maybe we could play a game in exchange for my tail back?" Now she was desperate. Games seem fun, cubs enjoy fun.

The boy considered her request. If he gave her back her tail, he wouldn't be able to play with it anymore. But she was offering him a game instead? Hmmm...that could be interesting. Perhaps it was a game he'd never played before!
"Okay!" Tsi-Tsi agreed. "What game?" He didn't release the blue tail yet though. He wanted to make sure it was a good game before he gave up the only hold he had on fun.

Tafuki pondered the question for a moment before finally answering the boy. "We could play a game of stream runner. Seems you are decent at catching things." She purposely eyed her captive tail when she said the word things. Attempting to hint that she wanted him to let it go.
"What do you think? First to capture ten crayfish gets to keep them all! Plus you get to play in the cool, refreshing stream." She held her breath for a moment before smiling. Even if she was captive by the boy; she would make the most of it. After all, it was her fault for not waking earlier.
Though... it did break up her mundane everyday workload. That, in and of itself, was something to be thankful for.

Oooh...that was a game he'd never played before! Tsi-Tsi released the lioness' tail before bounding around to face her. "That's a new game! Sounds like fun!"
He was nearly dancing with excitement now, eager to get to the stream and try to catch crayfish. He'd eaten them before of course, but he'd never caught them. And they were so tasty...which was probably why no one had showed him how to catch them yet.
"I bet I'll win!" he chortled, rushing off towards the stream before stopping and looking to see if the adult was coming or not.

Thanking the god for the release of her tail, Tafuki smiled at the little lion, "Doesn't it now? My siblings and I used to play that game all the time as children. Made us become incredibly skilled hunters as well."
Picking her body up she eyed the incredibly excited cub and laughed softly. Maybe the day wouldn't be as bad as she thought. Hell, it might even be fun. She would teach the little one how to catch a tasty critter and possibly even wear him out. Saving his family members from having to watch him constantly.
Moving forward in the direction of the stream, she watched the cub rush passed her, exclaiming how he would win. Smirking, she shot back, "So you think? I would like to see you try!"
Running after him she mentally prepared herself for the activities. An excited smile on her face as she disappeared from the clans center with the cub.
Today. Today wasn't so bad after all. [FIN]
